One-Eyed Monster-Chapter 615 - 612: Seamless Cooperation
Igor couldn't put his finger on this feeling, but at that moment, he felt incredibly secure. Regardless of how terrifying the skeletons and Undead Soldiers were, he felt no fear, believing reliable people stood by his side. These people fought shoulder to shoulder with him, giving him great peace of mind.
Thinking back on those Little Black Hands, Igor suddenly realized that comparisons truly brought such differences to light. In comparison, these seniors were much more reliable than those Little Black Hands.
Now, all the Little Black Hands were collectively silent. No one knew what they were up to.
Everyone cautiously faced the situation. Whether it was the skeletons or the Undead Soldiers, they were all apparently under the influence of a special Control Spell. These creatures might look disorganized and not particularly powerful, but real combat was a different story.
The last attack, at least, had been dangerously close.
Igor still hadn't recovered, as he hadn't figured out how those skeletons had appeared.
It was too dark to see clearly; he could only sense faint outlines. But even from these outlines, Igor could tell that the group of skeletons and Undead Soldiers possessed extremely high combat experience...
One doesn't need to observe a mob to recognize it; you can tell when they are upon you. The same goes for a well-trained Iron Army. And currently, these skeletons and Undead Soldiers felt like a battle-hardened troop.
This meant that Igor and his team were facing an entire army with extensive combat experience...
"Fear not! Even if we face an army of thousands, they cannot shake our territory!" Kuren roared. He had been an unbeatable commander, a fearsome slaughterer on the battlefield, and was accustomed to such situations.
Although Kuren had only roared once, Igor felt incredibly inspired. He involuntarily straightened his chest, ready to face everything bravely.
The scales of his inner faith had already tipped. That nagging old woman was constantly expounding on grand principles. Although these principles couldn't grant Igor much power, they did instill in him a firm conviction.
They must not show mercy when facing the forces of darkness.
"Come on! I've been waiting for you for a long time!" Kadi spontaneously roared. This was his first time fighting shoulder to shoulder with the warriors of Guru Mountain, and he felt an indescribable sense of heroism.
Their roars shook the heavens!
This, perhaps, was the biggest difference between them and Wizard Reed. Though fewer in number compared to the skeletons and Undead Soldiers, their morale and momentum were immense.
Wizard Reed merely glanced at them, disdainful. In the face of true power, those who bluster are often the weakest.
Wizard Reed waved his hands, and the group of skeleton soldiers immediately dispersed. They intended to shatter their opponents' momentum with the swiftest possible assault.
The skeleton soldiers attacked from three directions, their speed so great that the naked eye could hardly follow.
However, this hastily formed defensive circle was far from ordinary; they quickly discerned the enemy's attack routes.
"Joela, stop them!" Kuyi Tulan immediately issued his command, delegating the blocking task to Diamond Joela. This Golden Seat wielder possessed a unique aptitude with diamonds.
In an instant, three sturdy walls erupted from the snow-covered ground, effectively halting the advance of the skeleton soldiers.
Although the skeleton soldiers were fast, they lacked adaptability. Kuyi Tulan, however, had a special Exchange Beast capable of tracking their movements. Thus, before the skeleton soldiers could even raise their cutlasses, they were blocked by three massive walls.
"Milo, blast them!" Kuyi Tulan had clearly taken command, arranging matters swiftly and precisely.
CRACKLE! BOOM!
Milo's Ant Blast was quickly unleashed, blasting the skeletons and Undead Soldiers into disarray.
Wizard Reed watched everything calmly. This is just the beginning, he thought. If those down there couldn't even withstand this, they were hardly worthy of the powerful technique he had been brewing for so long.
"Yuga, clean up this mess," Kevin chimed in, also directing the battle.
"Understood. I won't let this debris form a plague attack." Yuga the Wizard spread his arms, and a fierce gust of wind rushed towards the remnants of the blasted skeletons and Undead Soldiers, instantly sweeping them into a mysterious space.
Their coordination was as smooth as flowing water—swift and natural.
This left even Igor amazed.
Logically, these two groups should have started fighting the moment they met, Igor thought. Yet, for a common enemy, they've managed to unite. And judging by that last counterattack, their coordination was so perfect it seemed rehearsed, a truly seamless connection. Igor couldn't fathom how two groups, supposedly enemies, could cooperate and unite with such astonishingly perfect coordination.
When the Alchemy Workshop defended, the Great Mentor's team attacked. When the Great Mentor's team defended, Milo and his allies launched their assault.
Wizard Reed had already launched several charges, but their opponents were no pushovers and had neutralized his attacks time and time again.
Igor wondered how this cooperation between the Great Mentor's team and the Alchemy Workshop members had formed. Joela's diamonds, Kevin's flying knives, Milo's ants, Yuga's storm... It was as if they had planned all this beforehand. And just like that, the skeleton soldiers' attacks were thwarted. Was it... a little too easy?
The easier it seemed, the more incredible it felt to Igor. At the same time, he sensed that something was amiss.
"We are invincible!" Kadi yelled again, almost maniacally.
"Left flank! Four skeletons incoming!" Joseph's Eagle Eye once again spotted a concealed enemy attack.
"Understood. Don't worry," Brad replied softly, producing a handful of Berserk Potions.
Simon, empowered by a Berserk Potion, used Devil's Steps and swiftly dismembered the few ambushers...
At this point, Igor had no idea what he was supposed to do...
He hadn't done a thing, hadn't even roared. He just stood there like a block of wood. Other than adding to his team's bluster, he felt he hadn't contributed anything useful. Seeing these skeletons and Undead Soldiers about to be wiped out so easily, Igor felt a bit... unfulfilled. Thinking this, Igor felt a bit pathetic.
A well-trained troop encountering another group of battle-hardened elite soldiers... The outcome really seemed to be decided by experience...
Although their teamwork was excellent on the surface, and they were increasingly gaining the upper hand, Igor still felt something wasn't right.
This unease stemmed from the fact that the whole process seemed a bit too easy...
