One Night Stand With Alexander Blackwood-Chapter 47 — Forty-seven
The game only lasted a few minutes before Alexander won.
Relief flooded through Serena’s chest as Alexander delivered his last move.
"You still have a lot to learn, dad." His lips curled up cheekily..
Thomas leaned into the chair and admitted. "I lost."
"Don’t forget to have your assistant send the share transfer agreement. I’d be waiting." Alexander’s eyes twinkled as he rose to his feet, dusting the nonexistent dirt on his trousers..
"Good game, you’ve once again proven that you’re my grandson." Elias rose to his feet with the help of Serena.
Alexander smiled but didn’t say anything. His gaze then flickered to Serena with his eyes filled with expectations. It was as though he was expecting her to compliment him as well.
Sensing his burning gaze, Serena could figure out what he wanted. "You did well."
Alexander’s grin widened.
"Alex..."
Rhea started, but was instantly cut off by Alexander’s following words.. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
"Grandfather, unfortunately I might not be able to play with you. I have an important meeting tomorrow and I need to return home." He said, disappointment laced in his tone.
Rhea folded her palms into fists. ’How dare he humiliate me this way?’ She thought to herself, her chest rising and falling in anger.
Grace could sense Rhea’s fluctuating emotions, so she rubbed her arms to calm her.
Serena, on the other hand, frowned as her gaze was fixated on Alexander. "Since when did he have a meeting?" She muttered under her breath.
She recalled clearly that Alexander’s previous assistant gave her his schedule for the month, and there were no signs of meetings. So what could the meeting be about?
Elias had no idea what was going on in both females’ minds.
Instead, he stared at his grandson and sighed. "You must promise that you’d visit me often. This huge house feels empty without your presence."
Alexander gave his grandfather a pointed stare.
"May we take our leave now?" He asked, his brows raised.
"You may." Elias replied with the same vigor.
--------------
When Serena and Alexander had just reached the garage, they were stopped by Rhea... technically Alexander was stopped by Rhea.
Serena gazed at the woman for a while before she entered the car. She didn’t wish to watch the obvious victim attitude coming from Rhea. Although they’ve just met, she could deduce a little from the other woman... Rhea felt insecure.
Alexander had no idea what was running in Serena’s mind. Instead, he had a neutral expression as he locked eyes with the woman who was once his entire world..
For a moment, silence reigned between the both — awkward silence.
"If you have nothing to say, you may leave. I have other matters to attend to." When he couldn’t handle the silence, Alexander snapped.
"Didn’t you miss me?" Rhea finally asked, her gaze meeting his. It was as though she wanted to see if he was lying or telling the truth..
Alexander scoffed as he folded his arms. "You overestimate yourself." He gave a curt reply.
Rhea bit her lips and tried to touch his arms but he evaded her touch while staring at her with disgust.
"You must hate me." She whispered.
"Don’t flatter yourself. Hate is an emotion which can only be felt when you consider the recipient worthy. You are not worthy." He enunciated each word clearly..
Rhea took a step back, her entire body trembling. She looked up to him, her big wife eyes staring at him with disbelief..
"I’m sorry." She then lowered her head, and whispered. "I shouldn’t have left you. But I had to leave. I needed to be on equal standing with you."
"I do not need you to be on equal standing with me then. And neither do I need it now." Alexander rebutted. "I’d appreciate it if Miss. Cross stops pestering me. It makes you look desperate."
Without waiting for her reply, Alexander walked around the car, walked into the driver’s seat, ignited the car and drove off leaving behind a fuming Rhea..
Rhea watched the car leave with her hands clenched tightly. "Alexander... sooner or later, you’d be mine."
Alexander had no idea what was running through Rhea’s mind. Instead, he felt at peace with Serena by his side.
"Reconnecting with your first love, I see." Serena commented, side-eyeing him. As she uttered those words, she felt a bitter taste in her tongue.
Alexander sensed the complaint in her tone, and for the first time tonight, he was in a good mood.
"Jealous?" He teased her.
Serena rolled her eyes in reply. "Why should I be jealous? We are not in a relationship." She turned her head sideways as she responded.
Alexander’s gaze was fixated on her side profile, and his eyes softened.
"But I wish for us to be in a relationship." He whispered..
Serena’s eyes bulged as she slowly turned to him. "What did you say?" She questioned, her heart racing as she gazed at him expectantly.
"I want us to be in a relationship." He repeated, this time, holding her hands with his free hand. "I don’t know when it started or how it started, but I know I have deep feelings for you, Princess."
Serena’s heart pulsated. She couldn’t believe that a whole Alexander Blackwood, the man she had a one night stand with, and her boss, was actually confessing to her.
"Alexander..."
"Shh." He cut her off. "I don’t want to rush you. Take your time and get back to me when you are ready. For now, let me drive you home."
Serena wanted to say something, but she decided against it.
All through the drive, Serena’s mind was concentrated on Alexander’s confession. She wasn’t aware when the car rolled to a stop in her driveway.
"We are home." Alexander’s voice snapped her out of her thoughts.
She smiled softly. "Thank you for dropping me off."
"I should be the one thanking you. I ’forced’ you to attend dinner with me." Alexander commented while running his hands in his hair..
Serena’s attention was drawn to it, and only one thought flashed through her mind: sexy.
Alexander was sexy.
Then—
A bold thought flashed through her mind. She leaned in, covered his lips with hers.
