Chapter 501: Chapter 500: Fire Fist Ace

The Government’s intelligence agencies could not, of course, simply waltz up to Alucard and ask if he had truly killed Dragon.

They had to conduct their investigation step by step. Finally, by monitoring the repeated conversations among the pirates of the Immortal Pirates, they confirmed the truth: Dragon had indeed died at Alucard’s hands.

Furthermore, the Immortal Pirates were currently hunting down the remnants of the Revolutionary Army. However, these remnants had inherited one of Dragon’s greatest skills—the ability to run. They were nowhere to be found.

It had been over a month since the battle between Alucard and Dragon in the Kingdom of Ilisia before the Government fully verified Dragon’s death.

Upon receiving the news, Sengoku immediately notified Garp.

After recounting the heavy facts, Sengoku quickly added at the end, "Don’t you even think about seeking revenge. If you do, I won’t forgive you, Garp."

It wasn’t that Sengoku didn’t want Alucard dead, of course he did. However, Alucard was simply too difficult to kill. To date, countless people who tried to kill him ended up being killed themselves.

Secondly, now was not the time to start a war with the Immortal Pirates. They were at the height of their power, their strength ranking at the top even among the Yonko, and they were also busy tracking down the Revolutionary remnants.

From every perspective, neither the Government nor the Navy would allow Garp to seek revenge against Alucard.

Garp rose with a dark expression and began walking out. Seeing this, Sengoku panicked and moved to stop him, only to hear Garp’s voice drift back: "This old man just wants to go back and see his grandson. Is that allowed?"

Sengoku stared at Garp’s retreating back for a long time before slowly speaking. "Fine. But I am sending Fujitora with you."

Among the current three Admirals, the ones Sengoku least wanted to send on such a sensitive task were the slackers Aokiji and Kizaru, especially since the target of supervision was Garp, who had once been a mentor to Aokiji.

No matter how one looked at it, Fujitora Issho was the only choice.

"Supervision, is it...? Do as you wish."

Garp strode away.

...

"Red-Haired Shanks is dead?"

On the ship of the Spade Pirates, one of the rising rookie crews, Ace was gorging himself on a feast. Having finally made a name for himself in the Grand Line, he had brought up a goal he’d long held: to visit the benefactor who had once taken care of his sworn brother Luffy—Red-Haired Shanks.

But when he raised the topic, his crew members looked at Ace as if they’d seen a ghost, telling him that Red-Haired Shanks had died four years ago.

This was due to Ace’s habit of never reading the newspapers. Since he’d set out to sea, and because Shanks was already a dead man, Ace was only finding out now.

Setting down the pizza in his hand, Ace’s expression turned solemn. "Who did it?"

The Spade Pirates’ navigator, Lafers, explained: "He was taken down four years ago by one of the Yonko, Alucard. Now, his former crew has split into two factions. Ivalis and Benn Beckman formed the Golden Hair Pirates and submitted to the ’Immortal’ himself. Lucky Roux, Judar, and Yasopp joined Whitebeard as the 17th Division of the Whitebeard Pirates. A while ago, the 17th Division launched an unauthorized attack on the Immortal Pirates, but rumor has it Alucard handled it all by himself."

Thump!!

At that moment, the door to the galley was slammed open. A Spade Pirate crewman rushed in waving a newspaper, shouting, "Huge news! Captain, the world has been turned upside down!"

Ace grabbed the paper to look as the others crowded around. The more they read, the more shocking it became.

"Dragon the Revolutionary has died at the hands of Alucard!"

Lafers shouted in shock. Looking further down, the newspaper detailed how Dragon had been the mastermind behind the recent internal strife within the Immortal Pirates, having incited Whitebeard’s 17th Division. Alucard had killed Dragon as an act of vengeance.

"Terrifying... Dragon was the world’s most wanted criminal, second only to the Yonko. And Alucard the Immortal went out alone and actually finished him off?"

Many of the Spade Pirates shuddered.

Ace stared at the news, recalling his past experiences. He suddenly slammed the table and made a decision. "I want to meet this guy!"

"HUH!?"

The crew was horrified. Lafers quickly interjected, "Ace, didn’t you see the news? Can’t you see how dangerous this man is?"

"The man who took down Red-Hair and the head of the Revolutionaries... how could I not go see him? My mind is made up. Don’t any of you try to stop me," Ace said firmly.

Seeing his resolve, the rest of the crew could only sigh and accept it.

Perhaps while inheriting the blood of his father, Roger, he had also inherited that unique charisma and leadership. Even though Ace was being reckless, and this mission was likely a suicidal one, the others were still willing to follow him.

...

"To think Dragon would be dealt with... it’s truly hard to imagine. The Government’s intelligence department chased him for years without even catching a glimpse of his shadow, yoi."

On the Moby Dick, Marco looked at the same newspaper Ace had been reading and sighed.

"Zehahaha~ Captain Marco, how do you think ’Immortal’ caught Dragon’s tail?" Teach asked, taking a bite of a cherry pie.

"That would likely be..." Marco glanced toward Yasopp and the others, lowering his voice significantly. "The work of that top-tier brain, Benn Beckman, yoi."

"Zehahaha... with Ivalis and Benn Beckman on his side, the Immortal Pirates really are like a tiger with wings," Teach chuckled softly.

"Aren’t we the same?" Marco looked toward the men of the 17th Division.

...

"So strong..."

"Unbelievably strong, Alucard the Immortal."

"He even got Dragon..."

"The Revolutionary Army is completely finished now. The Government must be secretly celebrating."

After learning the news, the entire world shared the same sentiment. But for those with no connection to the Revolutionaries, it was merely a piece of news. Once the three minutes of fame passed, they would return to their daily lives.
