Chapter 342: The World’s Strongest Dad
The question hung in the air, rhetorical and lethal.
Whitebeard’s grip tightened on the shaft of Murakumogiri. Biceps the size of boulders flexed, veins popping like pythons beneath his skin.
He didn’t wait for an answer.
He swung.
Wooooon—!!!
The atmosphere screamed. A sphere of white light formed at the blade’s tip before launching forward—a compressed wave of seismic catastrophe. It wasn’t just air moving; it was the concept of destruction given form.
"No—!!!"
Tendo Kikunojo’s blood-curdling scream was swallowed instantly by the roar of the attack.
BOOM—!!!!
The impact was precise. The hundred-story skyscraper didn’t just crumble; it was bisected. The shockwave hit the upper floors, and the structural integrity vanished. Steel girders snapped like twigs. Reinforced concrete turned to powder.
The top third of the building, containing the penthouse and Tendo Kikunojo, simply ceased to be a structure. It became a landslide of debris, crashing down in a cloud of dust and finality.
Kikunojo, his guards, his schemes—all buried under thousands of tons of rubble.
Silence returned to the Tokyo Area.
The dust settled slowly, coating the city in a gray shroud. The surviving citizens peeking out from shelters and alleys stared at the ruins with hollow eyes.
"The monsters... they’re all dead..." someone whispered.
"We... we survived..."
"It was that giant... he saved us..."
The whispers grew, a ripple of disbelief turning into relief. But before the applause could start, a different sound cut through the air.
Pat-pat-pat-pat.
Footsteps. Hundreds of them.
From the sewers, from the collapsed ruins, from the shadows where they had been hiding like rats, the Cursed Children emerged. Ragged, starving, their red eyes glowing in the twilight—but they weren’t looking at the city.
They were looking at Him.
"Father—!!!"
"Lord Father—!!!"
"Wahh... Father..."
The dam broke. They rushed him. It was a tide of small, fragile bodies crashing against the mountain that was Whitebeard. They clung to his massive boots, hugged his shins, grabbed the hem of his coat.
Enju was at the front, sobbing so hard she could barely breathe. She buried her face in his pant leg, her small hands gripping the fabric until her knuckles turned white.
"Father... Enju was so scared... so scared..."
"Enju thought... she thought she’d never see Father again..."
Whitebeard looked down. The fierce, demon-like visage that had just annihilated an army softened. The corners of his eyes crinkled.
He slowly knelt. One knee hit the ground, causing a small tremor, bringing him closer to their level. He reached out with a hand that could crush islands and gently, ever so gently, placed it on Enju’s head. His thumb brushed away a tear.
"Gurararara..."
"Silly girl, why are you crying?"
"Didn’t Pops already tell you?"
"With Pops here, no one will ever bully you again."
His voice was a low rumble, vibrating through their small bodies, chasing away the cold of the world.
Enju looked up. Her eyes, usually filled with the hardness of a warrior, were now just the eyes of a child looking at her hero.
"Yes!"
"Enju believes in Father!"
"Enju... will always believe in Father!"
Whitebeard threw his head back and laughed, a sound that cleared the sky. He stood up, the movement displacing the air around him. He spread his arms wide, embracing not just the children, but the world itself.
"Listen up, brats!"
His voice boomed, reaching every corner of the silent city.
"From today on, you are all my daughters!"
"You are family of the Whitebeard Pirates!"
"Anyone who dares to bully you is an enemy of mine!"
His eyes flashed, sweeping over the city ruins.
"And I’ll let them know the meaning of... the world’s strongest fury!"
The response was immediate. The children erupted.
"Father—!!!"
"Long live Father—!!!"
"We have a home... we finally have a home..."
They danced in the rubble. For the first time in the history of this cursed world, the "monsters" were happy.
In the distance, the Seitenshi watched, her hands clasped over her heart. She walked forward, her pristine white dress stained with ash, followed by her trembling guards.
She stopped before the giant and bowed at a perfect ninety-degree angle.
"Thank you," she said, her voice trembling. "Thank you for saving the Tokyo Area. Thank you for saving these children. On behalf of humanity, I offer you my highest respect."
Whitebeard looked down at the ruler of this land. He scoffed, a sound of dismissal.
"Don’t bother thanking me."
He pointed a thumb at the laughing children.
"I saved my daughters. I didn’t do it for you."
His golden eyes narrowed as he looked past her, toward the cowering citizens peering from the windows—the same citizens who had spat on these girls, denied them food, and wished for their deaths.
"As for the rest of you..."
The pressure in the air spiked. The citizens flinched, instinctively stepping back.
"I couldn’t care less if you live or die."
"But remember this."
"If anyone dares to touch a hair on my daughters’ heads again, I won’t just break a building. I’ll show you a monster far more terrifying than any Gastrea."
The threat hung in the air, heavy and absolute. The citizens trembled, cold sweat soaking their backs. They knew, with absolute certainty, that he wasn’t bluffing.
The Seitenshi took a deep breath, steeling herself. "I understand. I swear on my title... I will issue an immediate decree. The safety of the Cursed Children is now the priority of the state. I will never let them be harmed again."
Whitebeard grunted, satisfied. He turned his back on the politicians and the civilians.
"Brats! Follow Pops!"
He grinned, the corners of his mustache curling up.
"Pops is taking you home!"
"Yeah!!!"
The children swarmed after him. Marco, Jozu, and Vista fell into step, flanking the group like guardians.
"Pops," Marco drawled, a lazy smile on his face. "The Moby Dick is big, but this is a lot of kids. It’s gonna be crowded."
Whitebeard laughed, a sound that rumbled in his chest. "Gurararara... then let it be crowded! A lively ship is a good ship! No matter how many there are, my family always has room!"
Just then—
Ding!
A cold, mechanical sound echoed in Whitebeard’s consciousness, invisible to everyone else.

Whitebeard paused. He looked at the sky, then down at the sea of red eyes looking up at him with adoration.
"Gurararara..."
"Seems like this trip wasn’t a waste after all."
Light began to emanate from his body. He started to fade, turning translucent.
The children gasped. Panic surged through the crowd.
"Father—!!!"
"Don’t go—!!!"
"No! Stay!"
Enju lunged forward, her hand grasping for his massive palm. But her fingers passed through him like he was made of mist. She stumbled, tears bursting forth again.
Whitebeard stopped fading for a second. He looked down, his expression softer than anyone had ever seen it.
"Don’t cry, silly girl."
"Pops is just heading back to prepare."
"Soon, I’ll be back to get you all." 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
"When that time comes, I’ll take you to a much bigger world. A place as vast as the sea."
"A place with no discrimination. No war."
"A place with my ship. And my family."
"That place... will be your true home."
With a final flash of brilliance, the massive figure of Edward Newgate dissolved into particles of light, ascending into the sky.
He was gone.
But the silence that followed wasn’t empty.
The children stood in the ruins, watching the spot where he had vanished. Their faces were tear-streaked, but their heads were held high.
For the first time in their lives, the tears weren’t for the despair of today.
They were for the hope of tomorrow.
