Chapter 523: Chapter 521 - The fourth war weapon of the world.

[Chapter Size: 2000 Words.]

Third Person POV

Moon.

...

...

"You certainly had some work here, Enel." Luffy commented, looking at the enormous structure in front of him.

"I got interested in your project... Demon. When I arrived at this place, I discovered a lot and had a certain help." He spoke with a mysterious tone.

"You’re talking about the Automatons?" Luffy asked, turning back to Enel, looking a little surprised.

"You knew about them?" He raised an eyebrow at Luffy.

"Not necessarily... But I had some knowledge of their existence here on the moon, and I knew you’d reactivate them through electricity." He spoke calmly.

Luffy looked around; it was very strange that they could still breathe oxygen there somehow and without the vacuum or gravity of space.

As Luffy turned back to look behind the barge, he saw the entire planet, with several asteroids orbiting along with satellites — just like the moon — and the planet that Luffy had Bebo control through his fruit.

"So you knew exactly this would happen? You even seem like you predicted I would come to the moon when I told you my plans over a year ago..." Enel said, with a suspicious tone toward Luffy.

"Maybe..." Luffy shrugged, already knowing exactly that this would happen.

He had simply followed the plan. He had organized this weapon a long time ago. Enel had no restrictions in creating a weapon of mass destruction. Moreover, he had the help of the small robots that would easily assist in building it as soon as he entered the moon. And being an engineer, the understanding and knowledge for it were perfect along with the project he had placed in Enel’s hands.

And the moon was the perfect place to hide this weapon the entire time.

Of course, it still wasn’t ready yet. Something was still missing, because it wouldn’t stay on the moon, as it would be limited only by its position — and Luffy didn’t want that. He needed the weapon to be launched anywhere in the world he wanted.

The cannon barrel was at least 30 km long, about 3 km in diameter until it reached the actual body of the weapon, which was at least another 10 km.

How had Enel obtained so many materials to build it? It was because Luffy had secretly gone there before and deposited all kinds of materials he needed by buying from the store and spending billions.

He didn’t explore the place — after all, he had no time back then. It was a little before the Marineford War, while they were training in Skypiea. That’s why he didn’t know exactly how the robots Enel would come to find worked. A lot of money was used to create a massive supply depot where no one would find it, surprising Enel by having them in his hands without knowing where they came from when he arrived there.

He only needed to activate the automatons and begin the project. Enel might have been interested in the weapon, but he certainly wasn’t as fascinated by external powers, since he had a concept of God, where strength had to come from the individual himself and not from outside things.

"What do you plan to do with this, demon?" Enel asked Luffy, as he opened a smile.

"This will be my weapon against Mary Geoise. We could wipe them out from the sky, and nothing they do can stop this attack. After all, this is equivalent to an ancient weapon, with an upgrade. The government has one, we have two... and with this, we’ll have three war weapons. The government won’t even know what hit them." Luffy said with a look so serious that even Enel furrowed his brow.

Then, small heads began to emerge from various parts of the cannon, as the little automatons started to appear, curious about the presence of the two there, before seeing Enel and smiling brightly.

Luffy had already felt their presence in a strange way around there, since they weren’t similar to living beings, in the same way he sensed the Pacifistas. But he could still feel them...

Enel stood still with a serious look, as the robots began to come out and spread around, some apparently doing some sort of maintenance on it. They ran toward Enel, who remained still, watching as they lined up in front of him like a small army.

They were all small — not as tiny as Tontattas — more like babies in posture. All had mustaches and looked very similar to each other, but still slightly different.

"You certainly found yourself an army." Luffy said, crossing his arms and looking at the creatures, waiting for any command from Enel, while the self-proclaimed god clicked his tongue without answering Luffy’s comment.

"Chief Engineer Enel, we are performing maintenance on the core. We’re almost finished with the cannon’s core, but we still need to find a power source that can actually feed it, and electricity doesn’t seem to be adequate." One who seemed to be their leader commented, stepping forward from the others.

Luffy gave a broader smile upon hearing this, while Enel looked thoughtful. He then spoke.

"Don’t worry about that. After all, I modified the project a bit, since I wanted my weapon to be highly efficient. That’s why I built a core that will need to be powered to a level capable of firing an antimatter beam." He said, while the little ones looked at him for the first time, their eyes quickly widening, as stars began to appear at Luffy’s suggestion.

"You made the project?" They asked, very excited, while Enel said nothing. Luffy simply shook his head.

"No. I read about a weapon made by a great engineer in our world a long time ago, took the blueprint from someone and just memorized everything I read. However, it had priorities that weren’t so efficient for what I needed."

"That’s why I evolved it and created something more efficient, modifying it here and there. Originally, it wasn’t an antimatter cannon. But now it is, and I need a specific energy to power it." Luffy said, while they all made a surprised sound, still with stars in their eyes.

Quite amazed by Luffy’s explanation, they seemed to admire him. Even though Luffy hadn’t created it, he still drew immediate admiration from them, as this was now his project.

"Tell me what you need to power it." The little chief asked, and even Enel looked curious, watching Luffy.

"Simple. It needs this..." He said, raising his hand, as purple flames began to emerge. "The core needs this energy. After all, it consumes matter itself." Luffy said.

After all, only the flames of chaos could destroy everything — and they were the perfect fuel for an antimatter cannon.

"You made this so no one but you could use it?" Enel murmured with the question.

"Obviously. It’s far too dangerous, and I intend to use it only once, if possible." Luffy said.

He knew he had taken a blueprint from Tom through Franky, not wanting that project to fall into the wrong hands or for anyone to create something like what had already been done in the past, like Pluton created in the Void Century.

And if Luffy was right, the weapon was already in their hands and hidden beneath Wano.

Franky would be terrified to discover that Luffy had created something from the blueprint, but Luffy had made it so the weapon would only be fired once, as it would self-destruct with the shot — since there weren’t even materials in this world capable of withstanding the chaotic energy of his flames consuming matter itself. Still, there was Haki, which was the only energy capable of containing it.

But could anyone emit a Haki strong enough to protect dozens of kilometers from the impact of an antimatter cannon, from the flames themselves, and from the energy it would release?

Obviously not. That’s why Luffy had designed the project for a single shot.

"Well, let’s see your project." He replied, as they all quickly watched, a small army of excited children displaying what had been built, with Luffy looking over the design.

In the end, he spent time there walking around with Enel and the automatons, analyzing the whole structure, comparing it to his original project. And he was satisfied, even though it wasn’t 100% faithful to what he had drawn — which might’ve been impossible using only papers — it was efficient enough to do what he wanted to accomplish.

He also visited the city where the automatons had been found, called Birka, named by Enel himself.

Luffy talked with Enel and the little robots while visiting all areas of the project. He was never very interested in androids or robots, as he had never advanced any of those kinds of projects, having prioritized others. But certainly, these little ones had value of their own.

In the end, Luffy spent at least six hours with them, analyzing, giving tips, reviewing their execution spreadsheets, changing things here and there. Luffy wouldn’t power the core just yet — it would only be ready when the time came. He would carry it himself.

His gaze turned to Enel.

"Now let’s leave this place. It’s time to get ready to move on to the final island on the Grand Line — the moment has come." He declared.

In the end, it was decided. He had already done everything he needed in the past few months, and now it was time to continue his journey. His allies were safe and growing stronger in his territory, and at the same time, his projects were also progressing.

They returned to Enel’s barge and began leaving the moon, heading straight for Earth, while Luffy accelerated once more, arriving a few hours later in his territory.

They could see Zunesha still walking through the sea around the islands, circling the area. It had even made the newspaper, from what Luffy could tell as he made his way to Wano — the government must’ve been going crazy.

There, in the Flower Capital, he found Momonosuke as an adult. He had finally taken on his twenty-years-older form, crying to Hiyori about how Luffy had treated him by bringing Zunesha there.

"Now you’re an adult and still crying?" Luffy appeared at the window at that moment, while the sister comforted her older brother.

Hearing Luffy’s voice, he immediately froze.

"Luffy?" Hiyori looked at him and was about to scold him for treating her brother that way.

"I need to talk to you." Luffy said before she could say anything, nodding toward her husband with a serious expression.

She looked at her brother, asking him to go rest and that they would talk later anyway. He left the room cautiously, giving one last glance at Luffy.

"I want you to have this." Luffy said, finally handing over Enma, giving Oden’s sword to Hiyori, who looked at her husband in surprise.

"Don’t say anything. You have potential as Oden’s daughter, and you need to protect yourself too. This powerful sword should belong to you, Hiyori... Besides, I’ll be leaving soon. I may not be able to see the birth of our child." Luffy said, with a serene look.

Hiyori felt a bit disappointed, but she also understood that he had his journey to finish.

"When it’s all over, I’ll come back. Do you understand me?" Luffy said, as she nodded, saying, "Yes."

"Anyway, I’m going now. I’ll summon everyone else. We’re heading to the final island."

With that, Luffy left the sword — and his wife — behind.

Enma had been very important for his development, in learning his most powerful Haki to date. It fed on Haki itself. Luffy had managed to use that, beyond the war, to finally develop the Red Conqueror’s Haki — rivaling the level of Shanks, the Red-Haired.

Now, he had to leave the sword behind and move forward.
