One Piece: I'm Destined to Be the Son-in-Law King!-Chapter 208: I’m Really Sorry!

The ground was made of cool, hardened lava.

Akainu glared at Roya, who seemed calm and collected. The veins on his forehead pulsed with anger as he raised his hand, magma steadily dripping from it.

"Admit defeat? You're wasting my time. We've come this far; do you really think I'd let you go now?"

"Admiral Akainu," Roya said, a slight chuckle in his voice, "isn't there some kind of misunderstanding?"

He didn't seem worried at all.

"Until the World Government sends official papers removing me from my position at Marine Headquarters, I am still Vice Admiral Roya, the chief of the G-5 Branch."

"Killing a Vice Admiral is a very serious crime!" Roya pointed out.

"Besides," he added, "wasn't your mission to bring back Kaido's daughter, not to kill me?"

Of course not , Akainu thought grimly.

His orders were to bring Kaido's daughter back to headquarters. And Roya, for disobeying orders and seriously hurting a fellow Marine, was supposed to be brought back for questioning.

But the fight had become more than just a mission; it was now a battle for survival! He was sure that Roya was incredibly dangerous and a threat to everything he believed in!

"I thought so," Roya said, his eyes narrowing slightly as he watched the magma still dripping from Akainu's hand. He sneered, "Still want to attack? Admiral Akainu, are you questioning the World Government's orders?"

"You!" Akainu almost choked with rage.

That damn kid!

"I'll report this to Marshal Sengoku myself!" Roya declared, raising his head like a winner. He strode confidently toward the G-5 Branch warship, leaving Akainu standing there, his face dark, questioning everything.

Ha, try to fight me!

If I can't beat you, I'll drive you crazy!

Soon, Roya was back on the warship, surrounded by the admiring glances of his G-5 Branch comrades. He instructed Lu Yun to get a Den Den Mushi ready to contact headquarters.

Roya straightened his clothes, draped his "Justice" coat over his shoulders, and then faced the video Den Den Mushi, which was now connected to headquarters.

"Marshal Sengoku, this is Roya!"

At Marine Headquarters, Sengoku frowned as he looked at Roya's image. He wasn't sure what the kid was up to this time, but he knew he wouldn't let him off easily.

"Ahem! Ahem, ahem!"

Under the watchful eyes of Sengoku and other high-ranking officers, Roya coughed lightly, his face suddenly serious. Then, he bowed deeply, almost to a ninety-degree angle.

The G-5 Branch Marines behind him bowed with him in apology.

Garp and Zephyr were also speechless.

"Marshal Sengoku, I truly realize my mistakes. I want to express my sincere apology. I'm really, really sorry!" Roya said again.

He straightened up, facing the camera with a look of sincerity. "I'm still young, and I know I can be impulsive and reckless. But please believe me, I would never betray the Marines!"

"Ever since I joined the Marines, I've been dedicated to my duties, always striving to uphold justice."

"To keep myself from doing wrong, every day when I wake up, I ask myself: Have I worked hard? Have I fought evil? Have I been worthy of justice?"

"Even though I'm just one person, I've been doing my best to contribute to the Marines and spread justice as far as I can!"

"Marshal Sengoku!" Roya shouted, raising his head proudly. "I, Roya, am a Marine in life, and a Marine's ghost in death!!!"

"..."

Back at headquarters, everyone stared at Roya's passionate speech in stunned silence.

Yeah, right! Like I believe in ghosts!

Does he really think we don't know what he's like?

Wow, I've never seen anyone so shameless!

Roya wiped a fake tear from the corner of his eye and lowered his voice. "Marshal Sengoku, I hope you, as a great leader, won't hold my mistakes against me. I know I messed up this time, and I'm willing to take all the blame!"

"Marshal Sengoku, how about this?"

"I'm asking for a suspension from duty to reflect on my actions. I'll give up all my responsibilities for a year. During that lonely year, I'll definitely think about my mistakes!"

"After a year, I'll come back to Marine Headquarters. Of course, if you're still not happy, you can yell at me a few times."

"Huh? You're not saying anything?"

"Then I'll take that as a yes!"

The Den Den Mushi connection was cut off.

Back at Marine Headquarters, everyone stared at the blank screen, still trying to process what had just happened.

"Suspended for 'reflection'? More like a vacation!"

And what about Kaido's daughter? That damn kid hadn't even mentioned her! Could they just ignore that?

After three minutes of silence, a messenger arrived outside the office.

"Marshal Sengoku, the G-5 Branch warship just sent a message. Vice Admiral Roya left with Lieutenant Yamato, and no one knows where they went!"

"Bang!"

Sengoku slammed his fist on the table, smoke rising from his head.

"Ahem, ahem!"

Zephyr coughed, feeling he had to say something in defense of his student. "Sengoku, since Roya knows he was wrong, calm down and don't get so worked up over a junior." ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

"Humph!" Sengoku said, his face still dark.

Garp chimed in, handing Sengoku some rice crackers. "Ha ha ha, even though Roya can be a pain, he's still a good Marine. He won't betray us!"

"You don't need to defend him!" Sengoku snapped.

Tsuru sighed, rarely taking sides. "Sengoku, Vice Admiral Roya's achievements over the past two years speak for themselves. While this situation is serious, we also share some of the blame."

"Tsuru..."

Sengoku's face finally softened a little.

I'll deal with that kid when he gets back!

At Punk Hazard, in the southwest sea, a giant pink dragon swam through the clouds.

Roya lay on Yamato's lap, so tired he couldn't move. The burns on his body had been healed, but his stamina was completely drained.

Yamato still looked worried, gazing down at Roya's face.

"Roya, are you really okay?"

"Don't worry, I'm fine," Roya said, smiling. He closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.

The reason I wanted Sengoku to send an Admiral wasn't to fight him, but to show off my strength.

Fighting Akainu for three days and three nights, with both sides injured - that's an impressive feat. Add to that my apology and giving Sengoku a way out, and I can get away with it.

Marshal Sengoku, no, even the Five Elders can't just ignore an Admiral-level fighter.

Marine Admirals are essential for fighting against the Four Emperors!

Of course, that's all based on me showing enough strength - strength that the World Government and the Marines can't afford to lose.
