One Piece: I'm Destined to Be the Son-in-Law King!-Chapter 223: Leave the Security to Me
Chapter 223 - Leave the Security to Me
A castle stood on the edge of town.
Inside, the fancy lobby held a long, elegant table surrounded by chairs. A feast was spread out on the table. The drinks and food were the best that the West Blue area had to offer.
It felt like stepping into a king's palace.
Bege kindly invited everyone to sit down.
"This looks amazing!"
Yamato gulped, eyes fixed on the fancy plates and silverware. I really want to just dive in and eat like a beast , she thought, trying to resist the urge.
I don't want to be rude and have bad manners.
Bege smiled wider and picked up his knife and fork. "You've all been working hard tonight; you must be hungry. Please, enjoy."
"Thank you, then."
Roya picked up a silver knife and fork and started eating slowly and carefully, not at all worried about being poisoned.
With Yamato here, there's basically no chance of that. Yamato's sense of smell was incredibly strong; she could even tell if food was fresh.
"So annoying!"
Yamato awkwardly picked up her own knife and fork, looking troubled as she copied Roya's eating style. I'd much rather use chopsticks or just my hands!
Yamato glanced around, and when she thought no one was watching, she quickly stuffed a piece of steak into her mouth.
"Delicious!"
Once they were full, Bege wiped his mouth with a napkin, and his expression turned cold.
"Vito, bring them in!"
"Yes, sir."
Soon, several figures in black clothes, covered in fresh blood, were dragged into the lobby.
Bege looked at Roya and explained with a sneer, "Roya-san, these guys are Government Agents. They were planning to kidnap Uta-san at the concert."
"Oh?"
Roya narrowed his eyes.
CP, huh?
"How did you figure out who they were?"
"Because they came to me! They wanted me to help them kidnap Uta-san!"
Bege sneered as he flicked his dining knife and plunged it into one of the men. The agent screamed and fell to the ground.
"Reckless fools!"
Roya watched the scene, his eyes cold.
Uta's singing voice had a power that could touch people's hearts.
If she sang a happy song, people would feel happy. But if she sang a violent song, it could amplify negative emotions, making people lose control.
In a way, Uta was very dangerous, so it wasn't surprising that the World Government would target her.
But Roya was more concerned about Bege's behavior.
"Captain Roya, I was also at the concert tonight, and I was very worried about the pirates causing trouble."
Bege said seriously, "I'm a fan of Uta-san, and I don't want to see her in danger. So, I have a request!"
"What is it?"
"I heard that the Peace Band is going on a global tour. To prevent anything like this from happening again, I'd like to be in charge of security at the concerts!"
"..."
Roya frowned slightly.
He's really going for it!
Is this guy after Uta, or is he after me?
Roya didn't believe a word Bege said.
From what he knew, Bege's favorite trick was to get close to his target, then betray them at the last moment and take them down.
Plus, Bege always went after people stronger than him; he wasn't interested in the weak.
Uta clearly didn't fit that profile.
So, he's after me!
Interesting.
Roya's lips curled into a smile.
Uta was so popular, and the concerts were always packed with people, including those with bad intentions. They definitely needed enough people to keep order.
Fullbody and Jango couldn't handle it alone. Pirates weren't a huge problem, but stampedes and other accidents would be a nightmare.
Bege was a good choice, and he was strong enough.
As for Bege's background...
This makes me think of the unique culture of West Blue.
The groups in West Blue were known for backstabbing. Whether it was the Mafia or assassin groups, they rarely fought openly; they preferred to strike from the shadows.
Also, the countless Mafia families in West Blue all had their own territory. And having territory meant needing to take care of it.
The Mafia was different from mountain bandits and pirates. They didn't need to steal and pillage. Instead, they built underground businesses to survive, so they needed towns to thrive.
Therefore, being wanted by the law was not an option.
To avoid that, they had to stay on good terms with the local officials and the Marines. They bribed them with money, creating a corrupt but mutually beneficial relationship. It was said that the blood of the officers and Government officials in West Blue reeked of money.
Roya remembered the training camp, and how the officers from West Blue looked like Mafia members - suits, leather shoes, and sunglasses. Quite unusual.
Roya thought for a moment, then nodded slightly.
If this kid is offering himself up, I'm not going to refuse. Even if he had ulterior motives, the guy was still talented.
"Alright!"
"Thank you, Captain Roya!"
Bege raised his wine glass, a hint of murderous intent flashing in his eyes.
I'm tired of messing around in West Blue , he thought. I was planning to set sail, but it's going to take time to prepare.
I was going to set sail next year.
But since such a delicious prey has been delivered to my doorstep, how can I let it go? Once I find Black Hair's weakness, he's dead!
Then I can set sail and become a pirate, using the title of "killer of Vice Admiral Black Hair" to roam the seas, and hunt even stronger targets.
My new plan is perfect!
"Clink!"
The glasses touched gently, making a clear sound.
Bege finished his wine, then looked at the Government Agents kneeling beside him and asked carefully, "Roya-san, what do you want me to do with them?"
"It's up to you."
Roya said calmly.
Bege's heart skipped a beat.
Leaving it up to me means these agents are as good as dead.
What surprised me was Black Hair's attitude. He's a Marine, so even if he doesn't like the World Government's agents, he shouldn't be so casual about letting them die.
There wasn't even a hint of hesitation!
Bege grinned.
This is getting interesting.
The stronger the prey, the more satisfying it is to kill them. I can't wait to see Black Hair's dying face!

In the Holy Land of Mary Geoise...
Inside a certain room...
A man in white clothes wearing a mask was relaxing on a sofa. A Den Den Mushi sat on the coffee table next to him.
"The agents we sent have gone silent?"
"Yes!"
The Den Den Mushi answered respectfully.
In a hotel in Naples, an agent from CP5 looked respectful, afraid to even breathe too loudly.
The leader of this mission was an officer from CP0, who was on a completely different level from agents like them.
The masked man waved his hand lazily.
"Were they killed? I told them not to be reckless."
"Well, whatever!"
"Contact Spandam, and send in CP9!"
"I really don't want to travel all the way to the Four Seas to hunt down Uta. After all, I'm a fan of Uta-san!"
