Blackbeard had been a member of the Whitebeard Pirates for over a decade. He had a good reputation, got along well with everyone, and was known as an honest and reliable man.

Thatch never would have imagined that Blackbeard had come to kill him.

"Captain Thatch..."

Blackbeard stepped closer, grinning.

Before Thatch could react, a dagger plunged straight into his heart.

"You... you... why?"

Thatch stared at Blackbeard in disbelief, his trembling hands gripping Blackbeard's shoulders as he struggled to stay on his feet.

"Why...?"

He couldn't comprehend why Blackbeard had betrayed him.

Blackbeard's grin widened, but he gave no answer.

Blood poured from Thatch's wound as the light in his eyes slowly faded, leaving only unwillingness and rage in his final moments.

Thud!

His body collapsed heavily onto the cabin floor. A pool of blood spread from his chest, dyeing the wooden planks crimson.

"Don't blame me, Thatch. Blame yourself for taking something that belonged to me."

Blackbeard tossed the bloodstained dagger aside, then walked over to the table and picked up the Dark-Dark Fruit.

Holding the Devil Fruit in his hands, he could no longer contain his joy and excitement. His laughter erupted uncontrollably.

"Ze ha ha ha ha! As expected, fate is still on my side!"

"It chose me!"

"This is destiny!!!"

"I am the one chosen by fate!!! Ze ha ha ha ha!!!"

"As long as I have this power, the future belongs to me!"

"Ze ha ha ha ha!!!"

His wild laughter echoed through the ship, waking the drunken pirates outside.

A few groggy crew members rushed over, only to freeze in shock at the scene before them.

Blackbeard stood there, grinning as he took a bite of the Dark-Dark Fruit.

Then they saw Thatch, lying lifeless in a pool of blood.

"Teach, what the hell are you doing?!"

"Captain Thatch!"

A pirate ran to Thatch's side and shook him desperately.

But Thatch was already dead. No matter how hard they shook him, he would never wake up.

"Teach! You actually killed Captain Thatch! Are you betraying Pops?!"

"You damn bastard! What the hell is your goal?!"

Fury erupted as several pirates drew their weapons and charged at Blackbeard, intent on avenging their fallen captain.

Darkness erupted from Blackbeard's palm, engulfing the attacking pirates in an instant.

On deck, the remaining pirates were finally roused from their drunken haze.

"They were our comrades!"

The entire crew was in disbelief. The Teach they knew had always been kind, humble, and loyal.

Yet now, he had mercilessly slaughtered his own brothers.

Blackbeard's manic laughter rang out into the night, mingling with the terrified screams of the dying crew.

The entire pirate ship was swallowed by darkness and erupted in a violent explosion.

Only Blackbeard remained.

Alone, he sailed away in a small boat.

In the dark night, Blackbeard's arrogant roar echoed across the boundless sea, and eventually faded away.

After Blackbeard left, pieces of the pirate ship's wreckage began to surface in the water.

Several surviving pirates also emerged from the sea.

Grief and indignation filled the pirates' hearts, their faces now stained with tears and snot.

"Teach!!! Teach!!!"

"That bastard actually did this!!!"

"Damn him!!!"

One by one, the pirates screamed in fury from the debris, but Blackbeard had already fled, and no one could respond.

One pirate clutched Thatch's lifeless body, crying uncontrollably.

"Captain Thatch!!!"

"Damn it, what happened?"

"Why did this happen?"

Even now, some pirates couldn't understand what had just occurred.

The pirates wandered around the floating debris, some still holding pieces of wood, while others clung to Thatch's body.

The deck was eerily silent, a stark contrast to the usual laughter and chatter.

Whitebeard and his children stood in sorrow, gazing at the man lying on the deck. The man, named Thatch, had completely stopped breathing.

"Thatch, what a good boy you were."

Whitebeard's voice was pained, and his normally straight back was bent lower than usual, showing how deep his sadness ran.

"How could you make your father watch his son die like this? You bastard!"

Whitebeard didn't cry, but everyone around him did.

Marco, Vista, Joz, and all the pirates had tears in their eyes.

Many of them broke down in sobs, crying bitterly.

Whitebeard was strong, but in that moment, he was nothing more than a father who had lost his son.

He was still human, and he had feelings.

Even if others called him the strongest man in the world, it didn't change the fact that the loss of a son would break his heart.

"Hateful!"

Marco slammed his fist into the deck, creating a large hole in the wood.

"Did Teach really do this?"

"Why? Why would he do this?"

"We're all family!"

It wasn't just Marco; the others also couldn't believe that Teach would do such a thing.

In everyone's eyes, Teach had always been kind and approachable, someone who got along well with everyone.

But now, this once-friendly man had suddenly killed his own crewmate for a fruit.

"It was Teach, we're not mistaken."

Several surviving pirates spoke in a deep voice.

"To get the Dark-Dark Fruit, Teach killed Captain Thatch without hesitation, and even killed us!"

"I heard him say he'd been after the Dark-Dark Fruit for over ten years, almost twenty years!"

"He joined the Whitebeard Pirates just to get that fruit from the start."

"That guy is a complete monster!"

From the survivors' accounts, it was clear that Teach was heartless and incredibly ruthless when he killed his comrades. He showed no mercy.

His combat strength was overwhelming, stronger than many of the captains.

All the evidence pointed to one truth: Blackbeard had been hiding his true nature.

His kindness and honesty were a facade he'd maintained for over ten years.

Not only was Blackbeard not a kind and honest man, but he also had huge ambitions. He was ruthless, despicable, and a terrifying monster.

Whitebeard uttered those two words in a low voice, filled with an overwhelming killing intent.

His eyes turned cold, and the chilling light in them was enough to scare even the most battle-hardened warriors.

"Send out orders to track Teach's whereabouts immediately!"

"Anyone who kills a comrade is no longer part of the Whitebeard Pirates!"

"Anyone from the Whitebeard Pirates who sees Teach is to kill him without mercy!"

"Spread my orders to the whole world. Whoever kills Teach will be welcomed into the Whitebeard Pirates and protected under my name!"
