One Piece: New Order-Chapter 115: The New Era is About to Begin
Chapter 115: The New Era is About to Begin
Vegapunk frowned, looking troubled.
Sakazuki glanced at him and said, "Let’s not worry about that for now. Take your time with the research. What you need right now is a proper rest."
Only then did Vegapunk seem to realize how exhausted he was. Sleepiness crept in fast. "Apologies, Vice Admiral. Looks like I really do need a break."
Sakazuki nodded. "It’s fine. Get some rest first."
As he watched the scientist turn and walk away, shoulders heavy with fatigue, he shook his head.
Time passed swiftly...
A new era was about to begin.
* * *
Grand Line, New World.
At the towering heights of the hidden land known as Merveille, a cold breeze swept over the mountain peak, rustling the grass and loose clothing.
Shiki sat at the edge of a cliff, looking down at the numerous giant beasts moving below. He held a newspaper in one hand, detailing the latest movements of the Roger Pirates.
"Roger..."
As the Roger Pirates’ journey neared its critical phase, the entire world had their eyes on them.
Behind him, strange footsteps echoed closer.
Puff, puff, puff.
Ignoring the odd sounds, Shiki spoke without turning his head. "Dr. Indigo, how’s the research coming along?"
The clown-like Dr. Indigo, dressed in circus-style attire, responded, "There’s been a new discovery. This island is kept in balance by several specific plant species, and the creatures living here... not a single one exists anywhere else in the world. If we want to—"
Shiki impatiently cut him off. "Alright, skip the lecture. How many more years until I can launch my plan?"
Dr. Indigo lowered his head, counting on his fingers. "Hmm... let’s see... five... ten... no, the earliest would be fifteen years."
The pirate smiled, lips curling upward. "Good. Then the plan begins in fifteen years."
His face twisted into a savage grin. "I’ll plunge the whole world into disaster..."

Marine Headquarters, Marineford. Fleet Admiral’s office.
Bam!
The door was yanked open with force. "Bwahahaha! Fleet Admiral! I’m back!"
Looking up at the figure, Kong slapped his hand on the desk. "You bastard! Could you pull the door a little softer? And another thing, it’s been months! You call that a vacation? If you hadn’t returned, I would’ve assumed you defected from the Marines!"
Garp, stuffing his face with donuts, laughed heartily. "Bwahahaha! Blame Dragon, that brat ran too far. Hard to catch."
Kong snorted. "Speaking of which, how is Dragon? What has he been up to this past year?"
With his mouth full, the vice admiral spoke incoherently, "He’s fine... just saw too much darkness... got a little lost... I gave him a good beating, and he’s better now... threw him into HQ to cool off for a while. Bwahahaha!"
Kong furrowed his brows at that. "Don’t always rely on violence to solve everything. Have Tsuru talk to him when she has time."
Garp just chuckled. "No worries. I raised him this way. It’ll be fine."
Veins popped on the fleet admiral’s forehead as he shouted, "Get out of here! You’re giving me a headache just looking at you!"
He slammed the desk and stood up, making Garp quickly slip out of the office.
Kong shook his head. ’This guy is so unreliable...’
Then, he reached out to the Den Den Mushi. "Hello? Tsuru?"

That night, Marineford, Archive Room.
This place held records of criminals and pirates from all over the world.
Dragon, silent as the wind, entered unnoticed.
He passed the rows of pirate files and headed toward the section containing the world’s most dangerous criminals...
* * *
A few days later.
Marine Headquarters received shocking news.
Rear Admiral Monkey D. Dragon had deserted... and with him, several classified documents vanished.
The news wasn’t made public. It only circulated quietly among the top brass.
When the Revolutionary Army later rose up, and the photo of their mysterious leader "Dragon" spread across the world, almost no one recognized that the leader of the revolution was the same man who had once worn a Marine uniform.
* * *
New World, The Final Island.
The members of the Roger Pirates stood frozen as they looked at the enormous treasure before them.
Then, suddenly, at the front of the group, Roger’s lips curled uncontrollably.
"Wahahahaha! This is hilarious!!!"
Everyone blinked, then finally reacted. It really was... too funny!
"Hahahahaha! For real!"
"So this is what it was all along."
"We must look like fools! No—more like the entire world was played for a fool!"
"This is just too much!"
"Hahahaha!!!"
The entire crew burst out laughing, some clutching their sides, gasping for air, with tears of laughter in their eyes.
After a while, still wiping at the corners of his eyes, Roger murmured, "Joy Boy... I... couldn’t be born in the same era as you."
He paused, then suddenly laughed again, helpless and amused. "You really said you left behind a great treasure. I’ve gotta hand it to you."
He turned around to look at his crew, still laughing in a heap.
"Everyone," he called out. "Why don’t we give this island, untouched for 800 years, a name?"
Roger’s grin widened. "Let’s call it... Laugh Tale! Wahahahahaha!!!"

That day, across the world, newspapers were released like a storm.
Carried by news birds, pages rained down across cities and islands. In an instant, the world learned of the news.
Countless people picked up the papers, stunned by the headline.
"Hey, is this for real?"
"The Roger Pirates really did it?"
"Roger completed the first circumnavigation in history!"
"A king of the sea has risen."
"He’s... the Pirate King!!!"
The world went wild that day.
People everywhere wore expressions of awe, fear, admiration, and hatred.
* * *
On the prow of his flagship, Shiki stood tall, his cloak fluttering in the wind.
Gazing out across the endless ocean, he let out a quiet chuckle.
"No surprise there, Roger..."
* * *
Whole Cake Island, Base of the Big Mom Pirates.
Big Mom stared at the paper in her hand. With a cold snort, she mumbled, "Pirate King..."
Then she threw it into the air and sliced it apart mid-flight.
* * *
The Base of Steam Pirates.
Now bearing new sword scars across his face, Knox glanced at the headline.
"A massive treasure, huh..."
Whoosh!
He exhaled a long trail of smoke from his cigar, his aura sharper than before.
* * *
Fish-Man Island, Ryugu Kingdom.
King Neptune, seated on his throne, laughed as he passed the newspaper to those nearby.
"Roger became the Pirate King, huh? Hohhohhohhoh! Let’s celebrate for our good friend!"
* * *
Grand Line, First Half, Kergashi Island.
Still recovering after Roger’s massacre of their military years ago, the people of this island stared at his smiling face in the paper with utter despair.
"This can’t be..."
"That scum actually..."
"Damn butcher!"
"Is revenge really impossible now?"
"AAAAAHHH!!!"
Cries, curses, and heartbreak filled the streets.
The weeping could be heard even from within the royal palace miles away.
Inside the palace, the king of the Darrons Kingdom clenched the newspaper tightly.
"Damn it..."
* * *
Marine Headquarters issued an urgent recall and all high-ranking officers were rushing back to Marineford.
On Sakazuki’s warship, he looked down at the paper in his hand and gave a cold snort.
Just then, Carlo approached.
"Vice Admiral. We’ve confirmed the target on Baterilla Island in the South Blue."
Sakazuki nodded. "Good. Now pull our people back, it’s not time yet. Pirate King... huh."
Fwoosh!
The newspaper in his hand suddenly caught fire, turning to ash.
