Chapter 140: Chapter 140

Min-jae’s words landed, sharp but clearly half in jest.

Meical blinked.

Once.

Then he sighed, rubbing a hand over his face like a man who had just walked straight into trouble.

"...That was not what I meant.." he said quickly. "You know that, Darling."

-_-

"Oh really, cause it looks to me like you were begging to be thrown out.."

-_-

Meical quickly rubbed Min-jae shoulder, then kissed his cheeks gently. "It was just a harmless joke, my Darling. Please don’t throw your husband out in the cold, what if the wolves comes for me.."

-_-

Min-jae lips twitched at Meical’s incredulousness.

They weren’t in the forest, how were the wolves going to get him inside the house.

"Don’t be ridiculous. You know that’s not going to happen.."

Meical smiled, pinching Min-jae’s cheeks "It might, if you throw me out.."

-_-

-_-

Yura lips twitched as she stood up, seeing their public display of affection was beginning to get on her nerves.

It was the same for Saar, who looked so done with it.

Meical leaned a little closer to Min-jae, brushing his fingers along the back of his hand. "But really, my Darling... you wouldn’t leave me out there, would you? I might get eaten by wolves."

Min-jae raised a brow, lips twitching. "We’re not in the forest, Meical."

"I know," he said quickly, not missing a beat."But you never know. Wolves are clever."

He pinched Min-jae’s cheeks gently, smiling as if sharing a grand secret. "Especially ones with husbands like me."

Min-jae groaned softly, swatting at his hands, though the corner of his lips betrayed amusement.

Yura and Saar exchanged glances. Yura’s lips twitched in irritation, Saar’s jaw tightened as if silently begging for the theatrics to end.

"Anyway," Min-jae said, leaning slightly on the desk, producing a neatly folded letter from his coat, "I need this sent to Robert."

Meical leaned closer, eyes bright. "Do you want me to—?"

"No," Min-jae cut him off, a faint smile tugging at his lips. "Saar, take this. Make sure it gets delivered without fuss."

Saar stepped forward immediately, bowing his head slightly. "Consider it done, Master."

Meical pouted slightly, watching Saar take the letter. "...I could have gone."

Min-jae tilted his head, eyes narrowing playfully. "And risk wolves along the way?"

Meical’s lips twitched into a grin. "Very funny, my Darling. But I’m perfectly capable of handling wolves."

Min-jae laughed "I thought you were afraid of the wolves and that’s why you didn’t want to be sent out?"

Meical patted his chest, a proud smile on his face. "The only thing I’m scared off, is losing you my Darling. Wolves, knives, swords, men. I fear none. You brighten my world, without you I am lost.."

-_-

It was Min-jae turn to pinch Meical’s cheeks now.

"Are you sure you’re a governor and not a poet? If the people see how you are behind closed doors.."

"I’m not hiding it. I love you, If I could climb a mountain and scream aloud for the whole world to hear that I love you, I would do so.."

-_-

Min-jae smiled, these days Meical’s mouth was always filled with sugar.

"And I love you. And so do our babies.."

Meical hand gently found Min-jae abdomen. Grazing it lightly.

"I hope they look like you, you’re so beautiful I want them to be just as beautiful and radiant as you are. My Darling."

Min-jae nodded, he could only wish good health for his children. Only healthy children could play around as they wished. He didn’t want any of them to be left out.

The conversation had almost ended when Min-jae remembered Meical had left the house earlier.

"Did your meeting with Sebastian go well?"

Meical smiled and nodded, it was best to tell Kaizar that it was okay, he was pregnant so it was best to not having him worry.

His discussion with Sebastian was far from simple but he said yes regardless.

"Yes, we had a lovely conversation. We will he coming here tomorrow along with some builders so you can discuss the architecture with the builders. After that I will accompany you so he can acquire some lands."

Min-jae eyed Meical slightly but he accepted it, it was best to not know too much.

"I’m hungry."

-_-

"What if you feel nauseous again?"

-_-

"I have the tonic now, I’m hungry...D-darling.."

Meical froze slightly, his hand quickly flew to his mouth.

Did Kaizar just call him darling?!

This was the first time, he had called him down.

"Are you okay? You’re all red?"

Meical fanned his face slightly as a warm smile appeared on his face. "You called me your darling, I’m happy. I love how you express your love for me in silly little ways.."

-_-

"I-its not like that. It just that you always call darling, and I thought I’d call you that too."

Min-jae nearly died of embarrassment after he said this.

Meical gently cupped Min-jae face, pressing a gentle kiss on his lips. "You’re so adorable, let’s go get you some food. If you feel uncomfortable, please tell me. Don’t hide anything."

Min-jae’s cheeks flushed, a faint smile tugging at his lips. "...Alright."

Meical’s hand lingered over Min-jae’s, fingers brushing lightly against his abdomen. "I’ll make sure everything you eat is safe for you and the babies. I won’t let anything harm you. My Darling."

Min-jae shook his head slightly, though the warmth in his chest was undeniable. "You don’t have to fuss so much."

"I want to," Meical replied softly, leaning close enough that his forehead brushed Min-jae’s. "I can’t help it. You mean everything to me."

Min-jae let out a small laugh, more a shake of the head than amusement. "...You really are insufferable sometimes."

"Yes.." Meical whispered, pressing another quick kiss to Min-jae’s temple, "you love me anyway, don’t you?"

Min-jae exhaled, the faintest smile gracing his lips. "I do."

"Haha" Meical said, grinning. "Because I plan on staying right here, making sure my Darling and our little ones are well-fed and happy. Neither destiny nor fate will take you from me."

Min-jae’s hand rested over Meical’s as he guided him gently toward the dining area.

"...You really are the most dramatic husband," he muttered, though the warmth in his voice betrayed his fondness.

"And you," Meical replied, eyes sparkling, "are the most beautiful, patient, and perfect reason for my drama."
