Only I Level Up By Shoveling-Chapter 58: "Hm, Suspicious!"
DASH!
The elf ancestor carried his unconscious summoner on his back and immediately leapt forward like a cheetah.
Miria and Ray ran behind Castra while the petite mage chanted a speed enchantment spell.
She took off late but when she started running, she whizzed past everyone, just like a fierce wind.
"Run! Run! Don’t look back!"
Sweat dripped down his forehead as Castra bypassed the monster’s huge body.
"Kheeek!!" The monster noticed his prey were all running nearby and it immediately pounced at the nearest Castra with its claws raised high.
"SCREEE!"
Slash!
Its movement was so fast that Castra could only see a blurry shadow in the dark.
Then...
The monster’s body suddenly leaned back, farther away from Castra.
Everyone’s eyes almost pooped out of their sockets.
The monster— slipped!
It was just a slight slip, but with the monster’s enormous and distorted body...
!
"Khuek!"
The monster lost its balance, including the aim for its attack just now.
Instead of cutting Castra’s body, the sharp claw barely grazed the top of Castra’s head.
Swoosh!
Castra didn’t even duck and just sprinted forward, leaving behind the monster who stumbled forward and fell while flapping its wings.
"Khueekkkk!!!"
The monster should be able to fly, but it didn’t know why, it still slipped and crashed into the huge rock with a loud noise.
BANG!!
The rock shattered into huge pieces and the monster also felt its brain shook like a milkshake.
"Kuk! Kuk!!"
The monster shrieked as dust and pebbles flew everywhere with the noise echoing throughout the cave.
But Castra and the others didn’t even look back and ran deeper into the cave, each searching for their own hiding spot.
So they didn’t know that amidst the thick cloud of dust and rock debris, a young person with a black and white hair slowly strode past the monster...
And then suddenly returned with a confused face.
"Uh, what kind of monster is this? How come I didn’t see it at the entrance area just now?"
The youth asked, as if talking to another person, but then, they ultimately answered their own question.
"What?? A C-rank spirit-eating monster? Bad luck, bad luck, I better leave now."
A pair of black and white koi spirits swam around above the youth’s head and two humanoid spirits walked behind with grim faces.
Libra-ry: "A spirit-eating monster. Dangerous."
Gem-mini: "Ugghhh! It’s so ugly! I wanna puke!"
The two spirits chatted as if they didn’t fear the monster, but along with their summoner, they walked so fast that people could see afterimages.
Behind them, the struggling monster slowly rose up and looked in their direction with reddened eyes, full of unwillingness.
At the same time, Castra and the others had finally entered the wide cave.
Catching their breaths, the group clutched their chests and propped their knees for a few seconds.
Only then did they slowly look at their surroundings and couldn’t help but gasp.
"Is this really a cave??"
Dim blue and purple lights were scattered everywhere, like stars in the sky. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
The cave’s ceiling was so tall that one would think it was a dark sky rather than the cave’s ceiling.
The end of the cave...it didn’t seem to exist.
It was a boundless place full of stalagmites and stalactites, rocks as tall as mountains and walls as steep as cliffs.
Water streams flowed from the corner and gathered at a huge lake in the center, something that shouldn’t be scientifically possible.
It was truly a sight to behold.
Unfortunately, before everyone could savour the beauty of the strange cave, a familiar shriek echoed from somewhere upfront.
"Kieeek!"
"Kreeee!"
"Kukkkk!!"
CLANG! CLANG!
"Grrrrr! ^¢^£°{%®%?! ^£@&&@&! (Grrr! What’s wrong with these monsters?! They suddenly become excited!)"
A foreign language resembling the growl of a beast echoed with the monster’s shrieks, followed by a rough and fierce male voice, similarly in a foreign language.
"Oink! @&#&#-@#$,@#!£^£^¥¢£¢£! (Oink! I don’t know what you’re talking about, female! Just keep stabbing!)"
Two people, a girl and a boy that sounded too mature for a young person’s voice, talked back and forth amidst the sound of iron clashing with scales.
Ah. Are they the other examinees who have entered the dungeon before us?
Castra hid his summoner at a secluded corner while eavesdropping on the noises that came from afar.
"£¥£, ^£^£, @&@&#&^....(Everyone, calm down, don’t be caught up in emotion...)"
Another voice, a serene voice that made people feel like they were listening to a heavenly bell sounded.
One couldn’t discern the gender of the voice’s owner, but one thing for sure, it was another language different from the first two languages.
As if it wasn’t enough, a fourth language with a gruff and impatient voice sounded.
"£^£^¢°%@&?? @&$@&! (Can you bastards stop talking?? I can’t concentrate on making the potion!)"
Four people with four different languages.
Somehow, they actually gathered together and seemed to be fighting the monsters side by side!
"This is so interesting...."
Castra stuck out his head and was about to peek at the faraway commotion when someone suddenly patted his back, followed by a chilly and cool sensation sticking his bare back.
!!
An ambush?!
Castra’s mind went blank and he subconsciously swung his gigantic shovel around.
BANG!
"AHHHH!" The person hit by the shovel shrieked in a feminine voice resembling a bird’s humming.
"Himi!" A hoarse and screechy boyish voice sounded from behind, followed by rapid footsteps.
Taking advantage of the chaos, Castra immediately turned around and saw two people— one boy and one girl, dressed in suspicious attire.
"Aran! My head! Hurts!!"
The girl was screaming with red eyes, clutching her head that was hit hard by the shovel.
If one looked closer, they would see the big red bump on the girl’s head.
She even staggered, on the verge of fainting!
The boy immediately hugged the girl and blew on the big bump, all while retreating a few steps away from Castra.
Castra’s hanging heart finally dropped a bit, but he still stood guard in front of his summoner while questioning the two people with a sharp voice.
"Who are you guys? Why did you ambush me from behind??"
