Chapter 1700: Chapter 888: The Sacrifice Delivered to Our Doorstep (Part 2)

After all, she’s not the type to swallow her pride. How could her own daughter be afraid of an adopted one?

So, she ignored her second sister and directly pulled Evelette, who was eating melon, toward the castle.

"Lucia, what a disgrace, have you forgotten the etiquette of a lady?"

Feeling ignored, Miranda was furious and was about to reprimand her sister when an elegant female voice echoed from the castle.

"Alright, enough trouble, come inside all of you."

Upon hearing this voice, Evelette shivered slightly; the voice sounded to her like the waves of the sea mingled with the scent of blood, carrying authority.

She confirmed that the one speaking was indeed Duke Vanzo this time.

When the three entered the castle, they saw a voluptuous beauty dressed in pajamas sitting on the sofa in the guest lounge.

She looked about thirty, which was rare among the mostly youthful witches, but this mature beauty possessed a unique charm that innocent young girls lacked.

Her every move was elegant, and her expressions were full of allure.

Evelette had never seen such a graceful noble lady in her life; whoever she was, she had to admit that this Vampire Clan Witch truly deserved the title of Nobles of the Night.

Judging by the lady’s red hair and nation-toppling beauty, Lucia was undoubtedly her biological daughter; their appearances were very similar, Lucia was almost a youthful version of this lady.

"Lucia, my daughter, what’s the urgent matter you need to discuss with me?"

Vanzo gently set down the red tea cup in her hand, her bright burgundy eyes gazing at her daughter, asking softly.

"Mother Superior, I have important matters to report to you."

Lucia wasted no time with affection, directly stating.

Vanzo showed an expression of listening, but she waited a while, only to see her daughter not speaking, instead watching Miranda standing behind her.

"Mother Superior, this matter is extremely important."

Lucia expressed, already indicating the need for that unrelated person to leave.

"You..."

Miranda was furious.

But Duke Vanzo glanced at her adopted daughter, and the alluring Vampire Clan nobility had no choice but to respectfully turn and leave the guest lounge.

Outside, her face twisted.

"Ah, ah, ah...."

She screamed like this and vented her impotent rage against the flowers and grass in the manor.

In the guest lounge, however, Duke Vanzo was helplessly watching her daughter.

"Lucia, even though Miranda is a bit ambitious, she’s not bad and loyal to the family. You shouldn’t hide from her; she can be trusted."

"I know, Mother Superior, but it’s not that I don’t trust her; it’s just that the matter is too serious to take risks."

Lucia asserted seriously.

Seeing her daughter’s demeanor, Duke Vanzo also grew solemn. With a wave, she set up layers of magic barriers, isolating the castle from the world.

"What’s the matter? You can speak freely now."

After everything was arranged, the elegant noble lady solemnly spoke.

But Lucia didn’t speak. She directly approached her mother, then touched her forehead against hers, and transmitted her memories from the Circus of the Heart.

She worried she couldn’t express well in words, so she opted for this method.

Though she didn’t understand why she and Evelette didn’t lose these memories like the other guests, it was undoubtedly a good thing.

This memory transfer was undoubtedly efficient; the previously calm Duke Vanzo quickly digested the memories, growing increasingly serious.

Then she reached out, grabbing Evelette like a chick, and held Miss Flame Demon’s head, reading her mind.

Though impolite and rough, the matter was so significant that even the noble Vampire Grand Duke put aside gentleness.

After all, this concerned the future Third King and the sacrifice that man desired.

Yet Vanzo restrained herself, only examining Miss Flame Demon’s Circus of the Heart memories without probing into other privacies.

Having finished reading minds, she compared it with her daughter’s transmitted memories, and the Vampire Grand Duke understood.

"Mother Superior, what should we do next?"

Seeing her mother in silence, Lucia asked anxiously.

But Vanzo didn’t directly answer, instead asking her daughter back.

"Lucia, what do you think? Do we choose loyalty, or your father?"

Lucia went silent, pondering her father, Original Sin Demon God Lucifer, whom she’d never met.

After a long time, she spoke again, determination in her tone.

"Mother Superior, we are Vampire Clan Witches, not Vampires."

While she didn’t directly answer, the meaning was clear.

Born and raised in the Witch World, despite her Demonic Bloodline, she didn’t feel much affiliation with demons and the Abyss.

Vanzo pondered her daughter’s words, then felt a soothing relief.

Though uncontrolled, memories of a never-fading figure flashed in her mind even after a hundred thousand years.

"Young Master Satan...."

She murmured in her heart but shook her head.

He was merely a White Moonlight she sought in her youth, something remained in the past; now she was a Vampire Clan Witch, loyal only to the Divine King and Lady Lilith, the Grand Duke of the Vampire Clan.

For the future of the clan, even though she really needed her former White Moonlight, it didn’t mean she would sacrifice everything to please him.

Such a woman would be too cheap to catch that Proud one’s eye.

She had her own persistence and pride.

But she pondered how to use the news of the Third King’s imminent rise. Since sacrificing wasn’t possible, Lord Satan’s path was unfeasible.

Yet if a New King ascends, maybe the hope of the Vampire Clan Witch could rest upon this Future Demon King.

However, the prophecy mentioned by the Future Demon King....

"Blood Moon Maiden? What does that mean?"

Even the Vampire Grand Duke was puzzled.

Unable to become a Sage, she wasn’t skilled at Prophecy; even with ready Divination results before her, she couldn’t discern its truth.

"Let’s keep this matter confidential, pretend we know nothing, and let everything develop naturally. If she is truly the Third King, her fate isn’t ours to meddle, doing nothing is the best course."

"Then Mother Superior, what about the Return Faction...."

Lucia expressed her dilemma.

If they don’t inform the Three Clans in the Return Faction, might not those folks act upon the Future Demon King once they see him, potentially blaming the Vampire Clan Witch, then what?

"Would they listen if we advised them?"

Vanzo simply asked back her naïve daughter.

Lucia remained silent.

Not all Vampire Clan Witches felt they were witches, not vampires.

....

And the next day, the Vanzo Family received several visitors again.

"Lord Vanzo, we’ve heard you’ve been searching for a special soul, we happened to see this little fellow when we destroyed a circus yesterday and brought it to you."

Camilla and Elizabeth presented the tied-up Artie to the bewildered Vanzo mother and daughter.

Vanzo: "...."

Lucia: "...."

.... speechless mother and daughter....
