Chapter 353: Chapter 336: Returning Home (4000+)

From late November to late January each year, the sun disappears below the horizon, ushering in the polar night of Arktos. Only during this time of year is the light and color in the sky exceptionally special; it is called the "blue twilight."

The tent where Sienna Thornton and Simon Forrester are staying has a panoramic window, with a built-in stove that keeps the temperature comfortable even on the coldest winter nights. The bed is covered with soft and cozy down quilts, and there are two sheepskin chairs; thus, whether sitting or lying down, a vast expanse of stars is in full view.

The aurora is something that can only be encountered by chance and not sought after. They plan to stay in the tent for three days this time. While waiting for the aurora to appear, they go to the library in Arktos to read books.

The library in Arktos has a distinctive appearance, resembling an architectural creation from the future. Its modernist streamlined roof, crisp lines, and large floor-to-ceiling windows make the whole building appear crystal clear.

Simon Forrester is also skilled in these futuristic, technological, and abstract designs.

At night, lying in bed waiting for the arrival of the aurora, Sienna Thornton flipped through the images of Simon Forrester’s works on the tablet, her eyes shining with admiration: "Looking at your works feels like watching a sci-fi movie. Such buildings are only seen in films, they feel so high-end."

Simon Forrester laughed, holding her tighter: "What’s high-end about them, they’re just houses with different styles."

"Why be modest with me; can’t you let me admire you for once?" Sienna said, swiping left on the tablet screen, "That said, the guesthouse is quite unlike your style, though it’s very pretty too."

"That’s because you like Thai style, so I designed it according to your preference."

Recalling the previous design of the guesthouse for Sienna Thornton, Simon Forrester felt amused by the various industry colleagues’ speculations about his intentions.

He lowered his head to kiss Sienna Thornton’s temple, then looked up at the stars above: "When I helped you design the guesthouse, there were rumors in the industry saying that I was mad for money, taking on even small guesthouse projects."

"Huh?" Sienna Thornton chuckled, "The architecture world gossips like this too?"

"As long as there’s a circle, there’s gossip."

"Alright then." Sienna Thornton turned sideways, hugging him tightly. When talking about the guesthouse, she felt a bit heavy-hearted, "I’m sorry, my naivety caused people to talk about you and made you invest so much money, yet the guesthouse project still failed."

Hearing the helplessness and conflict in her voice, Simon Forrester kissed her forehead, comforting her: "I never considered the guesthouse a failed project from start to finish, because it allowed you to grow, and that’s a good thing."

Sienna Thornton furrowed her brow without saying a word.

Simon Forrester held her tighter: "In a few more years, after people have forgotten about it, we can refurbish the guesthouse and continue operations. It will not be affected. Believe me, it will shine."

"Alright," Sienna Thornton burrowed into his arms, "Thank you for always supporting me."

Though she didn’t want to admit it, she had to acknowledge that because of Simon Forrester, her life was filled with possibilities. These possibilities were things she might not have obtained even with a lifetime of effort.

As a child, she always felt she was the unluckiest and least fortunate kid in the world. But when she grew up, she realized that destiny had favored her. From the moment the admissions teacher from the high school sought her out at the Raines Family home, despite her not having registered, her fate was being looked after, allowing her to pursue a Ph.D. and become a lawyer licensed in Azure Harbor, domestically, and in California.

While life without Simon Forrester would not have been too bad, because of him, her future was destined to be excellent.

Meeting Simon Forrester had nothing to do with luck but everything to do with her efforts. If she hadn’t become a lawyer, she would have never intersected with someone like Simon Forrester, because she would not have entered his circle.

Their love was an accident, but it followed a certain logic—her efforts made her outstanding, allowing her to meet someone equally outstanding.

"What are you thinking about?" Simon Forrester suddenly turned over, whispering in her ear.

She smiled: "I’m summing up the reasons for our meeting."

Simon Forrester chuckled: "Let’s hear it."

"I need to ask you a question first."

"Alright."

"If my appearance was just average, like the most ordinary kind of girl, would you have still liked me then?"

Simon Forrester didn’t answer right away, possibly imagining what "the most ordinary kind of girl" looked like. After a while, he asked: "What about the personality?"
