Chapter 58: Pymon’s Evolution, Geno Ability

Azelis returned with the resources in just five minutes.

Afterward, John told her the method, and she took out some tools and started grinding and preparing the resources.

Once everything was prepared, John summoned Pymon and fed him the resources, as well as using the required Geno Points.

Since he got many new Geno Points of Silver-rank Monsters on the island, he got some new evolution pathways which could also lead to the super-rare evolution that he wanted—Skyrend Reaver Tyrant Roc.

Currently, Skyrend Reaver Tyrant Roc’s success rate is merely 1%. To increase the success rate, he initially wanted to evolve Pymon into Thunder Storm Falcon.

Once Pymon becomes Thunder Storm Falcon, he will have a 50% success rate in evolving into Skyrend Reaver Tyrant Roc.

But with new geno points, he got from the island, he unlocked an evolution pathway of Pymon that was closer to Skyrend Reaver Tyrant Roc than Thunder Storm Falcon.

Thunderblitz Tempest Falcon.

As a Thunderblitz Tempest Falcon, Pymon would have an 80% success rate of evolving into Skyrend Reaver Tyrant Roc!

’Let’s start.’ John infused Geno Points as Pymon finished eating resources.

Azelis watched with rapt attention, and her pupils shrank shortly as spirit energy from the atmosphere whirled around Pymon while Pymon shone.

In a few seconds, it was covered in a golden blue cocoon with black and cyan patterns, indicating a successful evolution cocoon.

"It worked..." Azelis muttered. "Say, John. Did that Sage tell you what kind of species this Abyssal Darkwind Eagle would evolve into?"

"Yep," John nodded with a grin. "He told me it would turn into Thunderblitz Tempest Falcon."

"I see," Azelis nodded, but then, as if struck by lightning, her eyes widened. "Wait, I’ve heard of this name before..."

"What?" John was startled. ’Damn, somebody has a Thunderblitz Tempest Falcon?’

"Yeah, an Emperor-rank Tamer from Nexus City has it," Azelis said with a nod. "His Thunderblitz Tempest Falcon is at Emperor-rank. It’s one of the fastest and deadliest monsters at Emperor-rank."

"It’s been half a year since I last saw him. As far as I know, he must be exploring the deeper islands and fighting with Tamers from Whelshwing Continent."

"Sounds like a solo Tamer," John raised his eyebrows.

"Nope. He is a member of the Jadelight clan of Nexus City. Anyway, that doesn’t concern us. We saw the recipe and your Pymon is evolving," Azelis said with a smile. "You trained the whole day, so go to sleep and rest. I’ll train you tomorrow morning."

...

John went to sleep in his room this time and woke up at 6 o’clock in the morning.

When he arrived outside after showering and freshening up, Azelis was already there, floating five meters off the ground in a cross-legged position, carried by the spirit energy whirling around her.

As if sensing John’s arrival, Azelis stopped training. Spirit energy dispersed, and she took a stand on the ground before turning to John with a smile. "Good morning."

"Good morning," John said and blinked. "You didn’t sleep at all, or what?"

Azelis chuckled. "Unless I’ve exhausted myself a lot, I only need to sleep once every three days."

"That...is kind of wonderful."

"Indeed. Anyway, sit down and take a look at the ability pool of your Bloodlash Veinforge Strider Geno Art. You will see the list of basic abilities, which can be developed further by you."

Azelis walked as she stretched her arms upward, causing John’s eyes to look over at her ample bosom rising up over her black dress.

John closed his eyes and gulped before he sat down cross-legged.

"I’ve called for breakfast. Until it arrives, take a look at the ability pool and decide which one you want when you break through to the Silver-stage in Monster Geno Art."

John nodded, his eyes looking at the scroll, within which was a section with the list of abilities, and each ability had a diagram of dots connecting each other beside it.

Bloodlash Veinforge Strider had Ranger-type and Assassin-type abilities only.

-Veinstep Phase (Movement/Phasing): Allows the user to phase through physical, spiritual, and living beings. Gains a Movement speed boost for a certain amount of time, depending on proficiency.

-Serrated Hemoclaw (Melee) (Offense): Extends blood-forged claws coated with razor-thin metallic filaments that ignore standard armor and cause internal bleeding. Reduce the healing effect on the affected area.

-Pulse Sever (Melee) (Offense/Control): Requires the user to precisely cut at different parts of a target, causing disruption in energy flow, preventing the Monster from using skills or Tamers from using soul techniques. But this doesn’t stop the usage of Geno Abilities.

-Bloodless Veil (Deception): Mask one’s own blood signature to match that of the surroundings, completely becoming invisible to sensing powers. But the user will remain visible to the naked eye.

-Veinforge Spineshot (Long-range) (Offense): Fires compressed blood-metal bolts from limb-embedded launchers.

-Strider’s Gaunt (Movement): Increases movement speed and coordination of the body, allowing the user to perform flexible evasive maneuvers at high speed.

-Bloodspike Trapper (Trap): Plants hidden traps from liquefied blood metal that impale and pin enemies when stepped on.

John wanted a movement-type Geno Ability and from the two options he had, he would have to decide on one.

Opening his eyes, he saw Azelis at the pond. She had summoned her six Emperor-rank Pets, but they were in cute chibi forms instead and bathed in the pond while Azelis sprayed water from her fingers at them, playing with them and cleaning them.

"Any question?" Azelis asked without even looking back as if she knew John was looking at her.

"Yeah. I want to know if there’s any way for us to develop and modify Geno Abilities."

"Of course it’s possible. But I don’t know if you can do it so soon though. For starter, you will need Blood and Metal Mastery at level 1 to even modify your Geno Ability a bit and gain better proficiency in them."

"So for now, choose a Geno Ability you would like to have in your arsenal and develop it after breaking through to Silver-stage."

Azelis waved her hand, giving two fruits to John. "Take these. After we’ve done eating breakfast, you can eat these Blood and Metal attribute fruits and breakthrough to Silver-stage in the Monster Geno Art."

John saw two fruits flying towards him, both of Silver-rank, and stored them in his storage before thanking Azelis for them.

"No need to thank me. Although I am not allowed to help you like this, by giving you resources, but screw it," Azelis turned to him with a grin. "I’ve decided to make you my apprentice, and I’m sure you will perform well enough to debunk any opposition with your ability."

"Heh, I’ll show them that your eyes are finest and your choice is best," John cheekily grinned.

"Mhmm, I’m looking forward to it."

Shortly, a green-haired young woman looking the same age as Azelis arrived with a food cart.

"Good morning miss Azelis, I’ve got the breakfast ready. Eat it soon while it’s hot and fresh."

"Good morning, and thanks, Lina. Also, prepare some lunch for us at noon, too."

"So you’re here the whole day today? Alright, I’ll prepare a feast for you two."

After Lina left, Azelis pulled out a table and two chairs from her storage ring before putting the dishes on it.

As she and John sat down and began eating, John casually asked, "Teacher, I’m curious. How old are you?"

"Me? Twenty-sixth year running."

"Wow, you’re so young and yet an Emperor-rank Tamer already."

Azelis lightly laughed. "You brat, you will likely reach Emperor-rank at an even younger age than me. I reached Emperor-rank at twenty-five, but I could have reached twenty-four too. But just ranking up is not all there is to a Tamer. You need to properly hone your arsenal of powers and Monsters."

John blinked. "Still, you must be considered a top prodigy, right?"

"Hmm...kind of," Azelis casually said before she drank tea and took a bite from an egg sandwich.

They didn’t do much after that and focused on eating. After they were done, it was time.

"Alright, get the fruits and eat them. They’ll ravage your body, but you must maintain control of the energy and upgrade your nexus properly. Most of the young Tamers fail in their first attempt, wasting resources and injuring themselves. Even higher-ranked Tamers fail all the time, especially at higher stages, but with your control, it should be easy for you to break through to Silver-stage at least."

"I won’t fail," John firmly said and began eating the small apple-sized fruits. They melted in his mouth quickly as John closed his eyes and focused.

Azelis’s eyes flickered as she watched him, observing the energy flow. In case John lost control, she would be able to minimize the injury.
