Pampered by My Ex's Cousin-Chapter 973 - 974: Former Best Friends, Slapping Each Other in the Face (Part 1)
"Oh my, thank you, thank you, I’ll definitely invite you to the wedding feast another day."
An old lady, holding a phone, excitedly shared the good news with her friends and relatives, smiling so widely that she couldn’t close her mouth.
Ji Anning stopped in her tracks, enviously watching others’ happiness.
Ji Chicheng turned around and found Ji Anning was no longer behind him. He looked into the distance and saw Ji Anning standing there, lost in thought. He turned back, "Anning."
He called her once and walked over to Ji Anning, taking her hand and leading her into the outpatient hall.
Initially, it was just Ji Chicheng holding Ji Anning’s hand, but before they knew it, their fingers were tightly interlocked.
They had already arranged to see a doctor, who was the director of the Maternal and Child Health Hospital. There was no need to make an appointment; they could go straight into the ultrasound room for the ultrasound.
"It might be too early; it’s hard to see anything on the ultrasound."
The doctor said while scanning Ji Anning’s lower abdomen with the ultrasound instrument.
After scanning for a bit more and still not seeing anything, she put away the instrument and handed a few sheets of paper to Ji Anning to wipe her abdomen.
Then she looked at Ji Chicheng and said, "Come back in a few days, about a week, and by then you should definitely be able to see something."
Before Ji Chicheng could say anything, Ji Anning immediately nodded, "Hmm hmm."
Hearing that they should come back in a week, she couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.
"Uncle, let’s go."
Ji Anning got off the bed, straightened her clothes, held Ji Chicheng’s hand, and pulled him towards the door.
Ji Chicheng glanced down at her, noticing the relief she couldn’t hide, and tightly grasped her hand.
But it’s just staying in her belly for one more week; what’s there to be happy about?
The longer it stays, the harder it will be to let go when the time comes, right?
Leaving the ultrasound room, Ji Anning put on her sunglasses, disguising herself carefully so that no one could recognize her.
Suddenly, Ji Chicheng’s phone rang. He took it out and glanced at the caller ID; it was from a work number in the United States. He answered it and put it to his ear.
In the waiting area of the ultrasound room, there were many people, and it was quite noisy. As they were passing through, it was hard to hear the call clearly, so Ji Chicheng let go of Ji Anning’s hand and signaled with his eyes that he was stepping aside to take the call.
Ji Anning nodded, watching his tall figure walk out the ultrasound room door; she slowed her pace again and breathed a sigh of relief.
She looked down at her abdomen, her hands unconsciously covering it.
Her flesh and blood would stay in her belly for one more week, even just one more day, and that was good.
"Ji Anning."
After leaving the ultrasound waiting area, Ji Anning raised her head, looking around for Ji Chicheng, when suddenly a familiar woman’s voice called her from behind.
Yang Danning!
She froze for a moment, pretending not to have heard, but the caller wouldn’t let her go and quickly caught up to her.
"Don’t hide; I recognized you at a glance." Yang Danning grabbed Ji Anning’s arm and forcibly stopped her.
Ji Anning wasn’t about to show weakness and forcefully shook off Yang Danning’s hand, coldly asking, "Danning, what do you want?"
"Nothing much, just saying hi."
Yang Danning said casually, her eyes glancing at Ji Anning’s belly, then raising her head with a smug expression, "Just to let you know, I’m pregnant, with twins."
Only then did Ji Anning notice Yang Danning was wearing a loose Korean-style dress. Although her belly wasn’t visible, she looked very pregnant.
She smiled, genuinely congratulating, "Congratulations."
