Chapter 2077: Chapter 555: Choosing a Bridal Studio (Explosive Update 9)

"Lao San, Xiao Qing, these are the photography studios that we’ve shortlisted. They are quite famous in the circle, though their styles differ, as do the wedding dress designs. Qing’s mother and I discussed it and thought it would be best to bring you two to have a look, and you can make the final decision yourselves." Chen Fang handed several magazines with samples from these studios to An Yiqing.

An Yiqing casually opened one, revealing a pure white mermaid silk wedding gown. She raised an eyebrow slightly and passed the magazine to Gu Yelin.

Gu Yelin never took much interest in seeing wedding dresses on other women. He casually flipped through and thought none of them were as beautiful as his beloved.

"Second Aunt, thank you for your hard work. We have nothing to do today, why not go check them out?" An Yiqing suggested with a smile.

Chen Fang’s eyes brightened with enthusiasm.

"Great, there’s no better time than the present! I’ll call them right away to make appointments. Lao San, drive over and pick up your mother-in-law and Old Lady An. They’re at home waiting for news!"

Even if Chen Fang hadn’t mentioned it, Gu Yelin was prepared to pick them up. Trying on wedding dresses and taking photos is a basic form of respect towards the An Family by having Kong Shi and Old Lady An present.

Before long, Kong Shi and Old Lady An were brought to the Gu Family Mansion by Gu Yelin.

"Grandma, Mom!" An Yiqing immediately greeted them, linking one arm through Old Lady An’s and the other through Kong Shi’s, then threw a smiling glance at Gu Yelin, leading the two elders into the room.

Naturally, Gu Yelin couldn’t compete with the elders for his wife, but although he didn’t compete, he still followed closely behind An Yiqing, not leaving her side.

"Come in, come in, dear in-laws, Old Lady! Quickly, come in!" Chen Fang warmly invited Kong Shi and Old Lady An to sit in. "Would you like some fruit? Old Lady, what would you like to drink? Tea or juice?"

Old Lady An with a smile showed she had a very good impression of Chen Fang.

"No need to trouble yourself, we’re all family, let’s not fuss over these formalities. Please, have a seat and let’s chat."

Seeing this, Chen Fang also stopped being overly polite. She poured two glasses of juice for Kong Shi and Old Lady An and sat down.

"Xiao Qing intends to visit these studios soon to finalize things. These two are quite busy, so there’s no better time than today, hence the sudden invite for you both."

Kong Shi upon hearing this, laughed, "No need to say ’sudden’! The life event of these children is most important. Thank you for handling this!"

"It’s no trouble. I’ve cherished Lao San like my own son since he was little. Last night my Tingting mentioned she must capture her Third Brother in his charming element—it made me laugh!" At the mention of her daughter, Chen Fang broke into a toothy grin.

Kong Shi laughed as well. Gu Tingting and An Zhihang were dating, and their parents had met; soon, they would discuss marriage. She was satisfied with this daughter-in-law.

"Tingting is such a kind-hearted child, everyone in our family adores her. By the way, where is she? At school?"

Chen Fang shook her head, "School? She’s got no classes today. In the morning, she went out with that little girl Ruan Xue, supposedly to the library. Exams are coming up, and fearing she’ll fail, Yiqing might scold her. This child fears no one but Xiao Qing and her Third Brother."

Everyone burst into laughter, especially An Yiqing, whose brows curved cheerfully. She recalled Gu Tingting’s phone reminder last night, telling her to wait for her today when trying on wedding dresses.

Not long after, Gu Tingting returned energetically. Upon seeing An Yiqing, she first gave a bear hug, then held onto Kong Shi’s arm tightly, making her own mother glare.

Yet, Chen Fang didn’t say anything; seeing her daughter win over her future mother-in-law like a blooming flower made her delighted.

The group, grandly set off in two cars heading straight for the city center.

The first studio was located on the first floor of a luxury mall. The design and class of the decor leaned heavily towards opulence. Black and gold lines, warm yellow crystal lamps, deep blue glazed tiles. Each small decorative item was a high-end commodity of considerable value.

To many, this was a place of unattainable dreams. It was said that a single wedding dress from this studio could buy an apartment at Xuandu Third Ring.

As they entered, the studio manager, who knew Chen Fang, quickly greeted them.

Neither An Yiqing nor Gu Yelin enjoyed conversing much, so they sat on the sofa, leaving the inquiries to Chen Fang and Kong Shi. Meanwhile, Gu Tingting chatted to Old Lady An about An Yiqing’s university happenings, earning the elderly lady’s gentle laughs.

Seated together, An Yiqing and Gu Yelin stared at the many works displayed on the table.

"How do you two feel about this studio?" Chen Fang and Kong Shi quietly asked from the sofa.

Before An Yiqing could speak, Gu Yelin frowned.

"Not good, too tacky."

Startled, Chen Fang and Kong Shi looked down at the photos. Right, Lao San has a keen eye.

Most photos from this studio featured luxurious and grand styles, with diamond and jewelry-laden designs more suited to flamboyant wealthy families or some nouveau riche. Gu Yelin and An Yiqing favored understated styles, unsuitable here.

After informing the manager, the group left the studio and headed to the second one.

The second studio, located on the top floor of the same mall, showcased a refreshing white facade, a favorite for An Yiqing.

Walking in, they were greeted with white jade screens.

The screens had a silk texture, a pearl base with faint gold highlights. The frame was white carved wood. Originally, an antique design paired this way had a touch of modern flair.

Beyond the screens lay the studio’s reception area. White sofas embroidered with delicate pale blue swirling clouds created a classical yet stylishly light feel. Tables, chairs, teacups, and decorations all echoed the studio’s efforts and taste.

In contrast to the previous studio’s gold-layered grandeur, An Yiqing appreciated this one’s originality and natural grace.

Gu Yelin constantly watched An Yiqing’s expression, and seeing her eyes light up, he knew this was the one.

"This studio opened a few months back and hasn’t served many clients yet, but everyone speaks highly of it. I thought since Xiao Qing loves wearing white, it might suit her taste."

With a smile, An Yiqing said to Chen Fang, "Thank you, Second Aunt. I really like it."

Chen Fang beamed, "Great, this is the one!"

Upon hearing this, the studio’s staff stepped out, offering the perfect cordial smile upon seeing An Yiqing and her group. Not servile nor indifferent, just warmly appropriate, earning nods from Chen Fang and others, approving the staff’s quality.
