277 Chapter 276: You dare lay your hands on my woman?

The next day Allen returned to his academy looking skeptical. Academies in this part of the world and at this particular timeline were limited to nobles again and wealthy merchants. Please visit f𝗿𝗲𝒆we𝚋n૦𝘃𝚎𝒍. 𝒄o𝚖

Within the academy, he was no more than average to those there since he was only a minister’s son. While Cecile didn’t have many enemies, he did have a particular bully. Adras Garrett, the last son of the Garrett family, southern regional head and a very terrifying family that only has the imperial family.

With an enemy from such a family even Cecile felt helpless when entertained by the thought of informing them. What could a mere minister of justice do to a mighty regional head?

Instead, his family will be wiped off the map and this wasn’t the first time it has happened to a lesser noble family

The world now was ruled by fear and an iron grip. It was a mess to Cecile compared to the previous life in the empire he read about. While there were special privileges given to nobles, the masses also benefited massively.

That was why Cecile greatly believed the accounts of the God of death may be false too. If there is something he has learned over time it is that history is written by the victor. Because he found it hard to believe the death god who is said to be the original founder of this place and brought in so many laws to favor the masses can be a bad person.

Cecile believed that there is a good chance he is only being demonized because he lost the final battle….

Bam!

Lost in thoughts Cecile bumped into someone probably a foot taller than him. It was a youth the same age as him but was far bigger. While Cecile was still struggling amongst those 5ft tall, this youth was already over 6ft tall and going.

.....

He was tall and had a strong build. His long red hair was tied back into a ponytail and his blood-red eyes were pinned to the little figure on the ground.

Adras Garrett was dressed in a white school uniform. His cold gaze was pinned on Cecile and the incident caused everyone to stop whatever they were doing in the hallway and look in his direction.

Cecile paled in fright as he scuttled his way back to his knees and bowed properly with his face pinned on the ground.

“I apologize! It must have been a mistake!” He cried out hurriedly and in response to his apology, Adras simply stepped on his head with his hands shoved deep into his pocket.

The imperial family and regional heads are known to have an inhuman physique which makes them stand out even in fights. They are practically perfect at almost anything and it is claimed that this is a result of the blessing of the one given to them to deal with the remnants of the God of death’s followers.

The resistance within the empire was still strong.

“It’s good you are aware of your mistake….” Adras said coldly but then his eyes flashed as he saw a petite figure walk out of the crowd and gazed at Cecile with worried eyes.

If Damon was here he would be a striking resemblance to Elsa leaf. She was a petite girl with emerald green hair and green eyes.

Seeing her, Adras seemed to be energized as he strengthened the power on his foot, causing Cecile to grunt in pain as his face tore open as the intensity increases causing him to bleed while cracks appeared across the ground.

“Adras!” The green-haired lady cried out in worry as she raced forward.

Her words seemed to draw Cecile’s attention but considering his posture he see her completely. He simply knew her by voice.

“You heard him admit fault, I’m only teaching him a lesson so that he doesn’t repeat such a deadly mistake,” Adras said with a cruel smile.

The lady, Elka, was the reason he singled Cecile out. She was the adopted daughter of the minister of rites. A commoner but her extreme beauty was something not many could stand including Adras.

What infuriated Adras the most was that Elka seemed to fancy only Adras and no one else.

Because of that, he was hell-bent on showing enough strength to woo her over. That’s why he dared go this far this time, this was the only opportunity he had.

Elka arrived and tried to shove Adras off but he was like a mountain she couldn’t hope to move.

Seeing this, Adras frowned. She may be beautiful and all that but she was a mere commoner who was just lucky to have a beautiful face. How dare a commoner lay her hands on him and even go as far as trying to shove him!

Bitch!

His eyes revealed cruel lights as he raised his hand but before he could deliver the slap he lost his footing and fell on his butt, turning the entire hallway silent because the only one in a position to throw him off balance is the one he was stepping on.

Is Cecile really willing to go this far just for a commoner or is he just tired of living?

Elka closed her eyes while awaiting the hit in fear.

But instead, a gentle and warm palm touched her cheeks making her face turn red. She quickly opened her eyes to see Cecile standing with a tear on his forehead causing blood to run down his face yet he wore an indifferent look that she has never seen before. It was like a different person entirely.

Unknown to her, within Cecile’s eyes was a bright green light surging madly.

“You dare lay your hands on my woman? Mortals have become cocky over time” a deep otherworldly voice rang from Cecile’s mouth stunning everyone.

To the ladies, it was the manliest voice they have ever heard but to the men, it was the most domineering voice they have ever heard.

The weak-looking Cecile became bigger in their minds just because of his voice.
