287 Chapter 286: Friends and foes

Dragon inheritance?

Rose’s eyes shone as if she had laid her eyes on a gold mine. It has been a long time since they have been trying to acquire the power of the dragons on their side. Since then they have waited for the ability to be passed on to someone but that has never happened until today.

As long as he could get this kid to join them, Master Beyond would be extremely pleased…

Bang!

Cecile’s body was sent spiraling down by the explosion. The best he could do now was stop the attack from descending. Right now only the hilt of the blade remained, the rest of the blade had melted due to the heat.

Bam!

Cecile landed on the ground and beside him, he saw Rose Garret standing tall.

“I appreciate the sentiment but this is not your battle, withdraw,” Rose said with an honorable face and Damon sneered in his mind.

If not for his promise to keep the Allen family safe he wouldn’t even bother. What kind of God cannot protect a human family while achieving his goals?

.....

His eyes remained calm and cold as he looked at his hands and saw burn injuries. The power Blink revealed was clearly aimed at killing everyone, only after revealing his inheritance did Blink hesitate and retract his power, if not this body would be roasted or he would be forced to rely on the dragon scales.

Bang!

Just as Rose was done speaking two figures dropped from both sides, blocking their path of escape. Armanthos and Blink stood gazing at Rose and Cecile with cold eyes.

“Don’t worry, I’m sure they won’t dare fight the mighty Garret family head alone” Damon said calmly but deep down he was mocking the lady. His eyes shifted from Blink to Armanthos and a darkish green flash spread across his eyes, causing the duo to blink.

Their eyes narrowed as they shot the sixteen-year-old youth again and only then did they see it. It felt like the duo were secluded from the rest of the world and brought before a man in black.

Time paused and Cecile was frozen in the darkness of time but a mighty figure of the death god loomed over him, gazing down at the duo calmly.

“I have only awakened and yet you two have caused quite a lot of problems for the enemy, I must say I’m proud,” Damon said in an amused tone, and quickly in the darkness the duo fell to their knees.

“Master!” Blink’s eyes widened with elation.

When Damon died he was broken and when the empire was lost to the enemy he was shattered. Not only did he fail to protect his master, but he also failed to protect the Empire he inherited from it. For a while now, he has been secluded from the real world and hasn’t even been using his powers much, that’s why the gem on his chest still retained the enemy even after a thousand years.

It has remained untouched until now.

He has always wanted to see his master again, but never did he expect to see him so quickly.

“I cannot give you details about my reincarnation. Neither can I maintain this connection for long due to the lack of mana in this world…. Pass on this prophecy to my people, on the very night they reach the imperial family, the God of death and destruction will rise from all the ashes and chaos. And destroy everything in his path. Only then will they be safe” Damon said calmly, leaving Armanthos and Blink confused?

“To understand what’s going on, I need to remain with the enemy. To accumulate energy and regain my power I need chaos. Tell those who die in the war to come that they will be granted a second life in paradise and this time the God of death will not fail…” Damon added.

“You can come back with us now, master. You can ditch this body and take mine. Regain all the powers you have lost and set things straight immediately. I beg of you!” Blink said with a deep bow and Damon shook his head in refusal.

“I will not take back what I have given. It is the sole reason you are alive. You are not a werewolf like Armanthos. It is not worth it.” Damon said with a sweet smile.

“Then we will be fighting against you on this battleground. That is until you decide to reveal yourself” Armanthos wasn’t as sentimental as Blink so he instantly caught up to the plan.

“Times of desperation breed a unique type of trust. If there is a better time to join the circle of the Beyond and understand what’s really going on now is the best time. Death in this world is not the end and everyone can be revived as soon as I take the position of true God again and remove the Beyond but to do this, I will need you all to join me on this” Damon said with a frown.

“Heh! It’s unfortunate we will have to be going against you on the battlefield… I won’t be pulling my punches after today, I just need you to know that” Armanthos said with a smile.

He really didn’t care much since the most important thing is that Damon is alive. As long as that is settled, there is still hope for the world.

Damon remained seated in a cross-legged position and smiled at Armanthos. From the greatest foe, he has come against in the old world to one of his greatest allies of all time. Right now, he was currently Blink’s greatest ally and irreplaceable friend.

It took Blink a while but he soon came to terms with what was about to happen. This was Damon’s way of saying they should not interfere with the life and identity he has created now but they should still carry out their plans as if he was never there.

“How are you feeling now, champ?” Damon asked with a sweet smile.
