295 Chapter 294: Gluttony makes his move

...….. Garret family residence ...….

A week passed after the arrival of the sin of Gluttony and strangely, after that night the world went quiet. Since then, he hasn’t heard from Blink or Armanthos. Neither has their forces done anything reasonable since then.

It all felt strange.

“Are you thinking about the events of the previous night?” Damon snapped out of his trance and turned to face Rose who was standing by the door with a slight smile on her face. Unknown to them, Damon was the one in charge of the body, and the green light in his eyes burnt secretly.

“Doesn’t that mean we have someone even more powerful to deal with?” Damon asked with a raised eyebrow and Rose laughed.

“It’s nothing serious kid, no one can win against the Beyond,” Rose said simply.

It seemed as if the Beyond had left a deep mark in his mind and that was the reason for the insane amount of trust and confidence in him.

“He is the only five-star being in the world, so what are we supposed to be afraid of?” Rose asked with a shoulder shrug but Damon frowned at this.

“Because you are born on an island and you spot no one there for years, doesn’t mean you are most likely the only human in the universe,” Damon said leaving Rose confused.

.....

As he didn’t know the reason for the wired sentence he didn’t know how to apply meaning to it.

“I’m saying it’s dumb to think you are the strongest in the world. There will always be someone just as strong or even stronger somewhere so we must always tread with caution!” Damon said with a frown.

There was nothing anyone could say to change his mind at this moment. After his brief encounter with the enemy he was certain this man was stronger than him, talk less of the Beyond that had to sneak him out of the heavenly realm just to beat him.

This foe was definitely the real deal.

“It’s okay to be paranoid during your first week as one of us. But don’t worry, as long as you stick to your training nothing will go wrong” Rose winked and was about to leave but suddenly a cold feeling ran through everyone’s spine.

Buzzz!

Bang!

Bang!

The entire empire shivered violently as if it was going to crumble in one go!

Rose and Damon exchanged confused looks as they ran to the window and looked outside the building.

“Spatial magic… someone is trying to penetrate the empire through a spatial gate!” Damon said with a frown.

“Impossible…. The spatial corridor is being held up by the Beyond and the spatial God spirit…. No one person should be able to break in” Rose said with a frown.

But Damon didn’t even bother replying. If the world restrictions didn’t hold this man and they were to use the star ratings it would be somewhere between six and seven.

He wasn’t stunned that something like this is happening!

Bang!

The door yanked open and the maid lacking emotions entered the room with an indifferent look on her face before speaking.

“Prepare your forces and head out…. The enemies used the spatial gates to avoid going through the outer gates. They directly sent their forces into each province with the intention of establishing a stronghold at each province” the maid said indifferently leaving Damon confused at first, why would a maid speak to a deity this way but then he realized the lady’s eyes looked familiar, it reminded him of the Beyond!

Is this the way the Beyond communicates with the others?

Buzzzzz!

“Instead of attacking we should focus on defense until we know how well the enemy forces are spread. We can just cut off any city they are in and fortify the rest. After which we can begin a counter-attack” Damon suggested and the maid showed a hint of surprise in her eyes since she didn’t expect Cecile to come up with a plan or even be bold enough to push it forward.

“Linchester is currently under siege led by the three-star commander, Klien the blood mage… Do you mean we should give up an entire city to the enemy?” The maid asked with a frown. It seemed she failed to understand the message Damon was trying to share.

“You become the shield and I become the spear. While you protect I will reclaim what is lost…. Prepare your forces and cover the capital and the two neighboring states next to Linchester. That way we know the enemy won’t be able to spread past the city. In a week I will lead the attack to reclaim Linchester… until then I will be returning to my family in Linchester and pulling them out of there… when your forces are ready, send them down. I will meet up with them and lead them to battle personally” Damon said while in Cecile’s body.

If someone thought he could use his demonic army then he must be naive. He would never let a foreign deity take control of his forces and do whatever he wants.

...... Somewhere in the central continent......

War tents littered around as hundreds of thousands of soldiers left, waiting for their time to make a move.

Within the tent, Damon would be shocked if he came here only to see Blink and Armanthos standing behind this figure with respectful looks on their faces.

Alex Briggs sat down on his throne while supporting his chin with his hand. He wore an amused look on his face as he looked ahead and gazed at the war map covering the entire massive round table and on a desk next to him was something similar to a chess board with so many pieces but this time the leader of each piece had his face carved into the wooden representation of them.

This time, Klien’s piece was the one on the board. This board represents the battle for Linchester alone, not even the entire southern province.

“I will direct these wars from here. I’m sure your master will do the same. This is a chance to see who is more capable in warfare” Alex chuckled with a confident smile while Blink and Armanthos couldn’t help but look on restlessly.
