309 Chapter 308: Threat of Gluttony

For every action, there must be a reaction. The sin of Greed’s actions earlier in the meeting with Danny put the final nail in his coffin. Right now, Alex was not trying to save him, he simply wanted to make sure Damon recovers his power before killing him and consuming him. If Eve needs the sin of greed then the sin of gluttony will become the sin of greed.

With the power of the devour soul core, he could consume anything in this world and assimilate its abilities.

Why would he need other sins when he can become all the sins combined?

Thud!

As soon as the being stepped out of the spatial corridor, a cold chill ran across the entire northern province.

It was a young man in his mid-twenties with waist-length black hair and pitch-black eyes. He wore a leather jacket on his bare chest and his eyes were void of any form of emotions. With both hands in his pockets, he appeared and a cruel smile bloomed on his face.

Ahead of him were the mighty walls of the northern province surrounded by an invisible barrier that only a few could see.

Above the heavens was a single massive eye peering down at his location with hostility in its eyes but Alex wasn’t moved. If this is the being that kept the God of death down then it would be badly mistaken.

“If you think you have what it takes to kill me, you know where I am, so come!” Alex sneered cruelly before raising his hand toward the walls!

.....

Archers!

The captain of the guards on the wall screamed at the top of his voice and barrages of arrows soared into the sky, covering the sun and turning the world dark.

Alex stood alone in the darkness as he watched everything descend and he didn’t seem bothered.

According to the map, the first city in the northern region is known as Langath and its population was quite reasonable. With the incidents in the southern province, they were far more prepared but none of that mattered to Alex.

In the face of absolute power, all forms of techniques are useless!” Alex snorted disdainfully as black flames exploded from his body and black armor poured out of his skin, covering his body like a Knight’s armor.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

Countless arrows rained down from the heavens above but none could put a scratch on him. They all hit his black armor and deflected off his black armor.

Hmph!

Gravity core: Attract!

A powerful suction force exploded from Alex pulling the world towards him. He stood with his hands casually placed behind him as the walls of the Northern province shattered while flying towards him with hundreds of soldiers still on them.

Black flame core: Void flames!

Brrrrrrrr!

Black flames exploded from his open palm, covering the entire sky. It was like a black sea rising into the heavens as it slammed into the debris and huge chunks of rock, reducing everything and everyone to ashes.

This behind the wall and not affected by this were left flabbergasted by the show of strength of this single man. No pope or archbishop of the one church has ever been able to show this level of strength.

Snap!

With nothing blocking his path anymore, Alex snapped his fingers and numerous spatial tears began to appear out of the blue. The undead army of the death mage began pouring out of these spatial tears and if Damon was present he would be stunned to see a deadly pale figure dressed in bright white robes and blood-red eyes appeared. He fell to one knee beside Alex Briggs with indifference in his eyes.

“I had only you join me here because I don’t need much help... Your job is simply to control your forces and wipe out those who dare stand in our way as for the deities amongst them, I will deal with them personally. What was the name again... Cassius Blood... Right?” Alex asked the last part with a raised eyebrow. In response, Cassius could only nod his head while keeping his head lowered.

Even a fool could tell this was no longer a war to save the God of death. He knew this has become an all-out war between different deities trying to put an end to each other and the weak ones like them are just pawns and sacrificial pieces but they felt powerless to go against it

While he knew Alex was trying to attack all sides at the same time to prevent how many souls Damon can consume in the chaos but what he failed to realize is that Damon was once the sole god of this world. Both the heavens and the underworld are under his control and that’s why the Beyond and the old gods are stuck here in the God’s vein. They cannot access the heavenly realm and the underworld anymore so the only way to feed off the God’s vein is to live within it.

Regardless of where a person dies. As long as it is within this universe, the soul will go to Damon and the powers and abilities attached to that soul become his as well.

That is the reason they chose to follow that man and even die for him in this war. Because the power of life and death is in his hands, literarily, and for that reason, his followers were never afraid of death. As long as they remained loyal to the God of Death, they will live forever by his side!

“No... You are wrong...”

Buzzz!

Cassius felt a cold breeze blow against his back as those words rang in his ears. He looked up hastily and saw Alex Briggs looking into his eyes calmly as if he had read his thoughts from the beginning till the end.

“Your master has the power to devour the world but so do I. I will consume everything in my path, including the deities, Demons, and most definitely, the God of death, Damon Ross” Alex said in a calm but a threatening voice.
