Pay With Your Heart-Chapter 208
Chapter 208: Motherβs Knows Things
βStupid Son In-law?β
Jinhai looked at the couple in front of him confusedly. He didnβt understand what was going on. ππ«β―ππβ―πnπΡ΅πl.cπΌπΊ
So they knew him and Hei-Ran were only pretending to date? Wait! they knew about his feelings for Hei-Ran? How was that even possible?
Hei-Ran was also shocked by what was happening right now? What does her father mean by her mother was right? And what does she mean by stupid son-in-law? Was going to be their Son-in-law, Song Jinhai?
Wait did Jinhai just say he was in love with her? Did Jinhai truly say that? Was this some kind of joke?
Wait, her parents also knew theyβve been lying to them? How?
Jinhai and Hei-Ran werenβt the only ones in room that were shocked and confused. Every other person who had come to tonight and weβre now standing in and outside of the kitchen were also shocked and confused, most especially A-Yeong.
.....
Tilting her towards them, Mrs Su asked, βSurprised huh?β
βHoney, they are more than surprised. They looked stupified. And I think you slapped them way to hardβ He said as he walked closer to her. He reached for her reddened palm and blow on it, before wrapping his hand around her shoulder.
βDo you think I slapped them too hard?β Mrs Su turned to her husband and asked.
βWell youβve always had a iron fist, I think that was moderate considering your strengthβ He paused and looked at Hei-Ran and Jinhai and sighed before the continued, βAnd I think they both deserve it.β He shrugged.
βYes youβre rightβ She nodded affirmatively before turning towards them.
βMy husband is right, you guys deserve more beating. You insulted us by lying to us, most especially you Hei-Ran. Iβm quite disappointed in you. Did you think you can lie to your mother? I gave birth to you and I know you. So you thought I couldnβt see through your silly act when you walked through that door the first day you came here for lunch. You couldnβt even sit one meter close to him, neither did you laugh or smile at him. No girl in love would be as stiff as you. Youβre my child and I carried you for nine months no and raised you for more than two decades. So I know you Hei-Ran, you can never be an actres, you suck at acting. Iβm sorry to disappoint you honey, even if you try becoming an actress , mother will never watch your movies. Actually, Iβm no one in this room will.β Mrs Su said to Hei-Ranβs mortification.
βI slapped you because I was disappointed you thought about lying to your mother and for not telling me the truth about what happened back then. I never brought you up that way, and I also slapped that dumb ass boss of yours who obviously likes you but heβs so dumb not to tell you. Donβt ask me how I know this, itβs one of a motherβs special talent. They tend to see things that are not there or what you children are desperately trying to hide, like the way he looks at you when youβre not looking. Heβs such a foolβ Mrs Su glanced at Jinhai and eyed him. ππ«eπwβ―π―ππΌΡ΅πl.πoπ
βIf he asks you out make sure you play hard to get. Heβs stupidβ Mrs Su scoffed at him. Jinhai didnβt know if he was to laugh or cry. He simply lowered his head and let the woman continue what she was saying. A few words bashing were not going to kill him, but what would was Hei-Ranβs reaction after now. That was what scared him.
Mrs Su took a step closer to Hei-Ran, she used her hand to lift her chin up so Hei-Ran could look at her eyes.
Hei-Ran felt her eyes sting with tears when her mother cupped her face. She didnβt know it they were tears of regret or relief. Regret for lying to her mother or relief for finally having a burden taken off her shoulders which has been weighing her down for weeks. The thought of lying to her parents and family was suffocating. But now that everything was brought to light she couldnβt feel more relieved.
βMom, Iβm sorry.β She apologized as tears slipped out of her eyes and rolled down her cheeks but her mother was quick to catch it.
βNo honey you shouldnβt apologize. I should be the one to apologize to you.β She said as she kept wiping her tears away.
Hei-Ran shook her head and held her motherβs hand to stop her from apologizing. βMom, donβt.β
βNo dear I should. Iβm sorry for pressuring you into getting married. I only wanted the best for you, every mother wants the best for their children. I wanted you to settle down and have a family of your own so you wonβt feel lonely. I donβt want that for you and thatβs why I pressured you. Iβm sorry okay, mother will change. I wonβt force you anymore, and even if you donβt like Jinhai back, Iβll wait till you find someone you love and who loves back.β She told in her motherly voice while Hei-Ran nodded. Mrs Su hugged her and placed a kiss on her cheek.
βStop crying and donβt ever lie to us again.β Mrs Su added while Hei-Ran bobbed her head up and down.
Seul-Bi also went to her sister and hugged her too. βDonβt cry sist. Youβre ruined your mascara.β She teased her as she wiped the remnant of tears from her sisterβs eyes, while Hei-Ran nodded her head.
Mrs Su looked at Jinhai and shook her head. She leaned closer to him and leaned towards his ears and said, βIβm sorry I canβt help you. You have to man up and own your feelings. Play your cards right and you might just be lucky.β Jinhai looked at the woman in bewilderment as she winked at him.
He didnβt know whether to laugh or cry, but one thing he knew was that he was nervous. Nervous about the future turn of events between him and Hei-Ran.
Mrs Su turned towards A-Yeong and scoffed.
βI guess you must be a little disappointed since you plan of disgracing Hei-Ran didnβt work?β She spoke in a livid voice, but A-Yeong didnβt flinch by what she had said, rather she acted non chalant. Mrs Su looked at her and hissed, she didnβt expect anything from her brotherβs spoilt brat.
