Peaceful Farm Life-Chapter 2044 - 2045: Also No Wonder She Understands
But when the handkerchief was about to touch An Yilin’s forehead, Qi Linglong hesitated slightly, finding the action rather intimate. However, after glancing at An Yilin’s right arm and noticing he was still holding the horse hoof cake, she stopped hesitating and gently started to wipe An Yilin’s sweat.
An Yilin simply gazed at the nearby Qi Linglong while enjoying her wiping his sweat.
However, Qi Linglong’s mouth was truly small—like a cherry—red without rouge, making it hard for him to imagine how such a tiny mouth could eat so much and still never seem full.
Just as Qi Linglong finished wiping An Yilin’s sweat and was preparing to retract her hand, the carriage suddenly jolted. Qi Linglong lost her balance and fell into An Yilin’s arms.
When Qi Linglong fell into An Yilin’s arms, she also bumped into his left arm, causing An Yilin to groan softly in pain, "Ugh."
Nevertheless, An Yilin quickly reacted, letting go of the cake plate in his right hand to hold Qi Linglong, stabilizing both her and himself as the carriage jostled twice more.
Holding Qi Linglong, he realized she was even more petite than she appeared.
Now holding her with one hand, she already felt so small; with both hands, wouldn’t she feel even smaller?
While An Yilin was entertaining these scattered thoughts, the carriage settled, and Qi Linglong struggled to get up off An Yilin. Her cheeks, however, were flushed pink. She had never had such close contact with a man before; moments ago, her whole body was pressed against him.
Seeing Qi Linglong’s flushed pink cheeks, embarrassed to look at him, An Yilin’s left arm, though pained before, was distracted and hurt less now, bringing a smile to his face.
Just as An Yilin decided to tease Qi Linglong, she noticed the horse hoof cake discarded beside them and beat him to it with a particularly mournful comment: "My horse hoof cake..."
Once again focused on food...
An Yilin paused before glancing at the horse hoof cake tossed aside. Though the carriage appeared clean, the cake had been stepped on and couldn’t be eaten, but he didn’t mind. Instead, he consoled her, "There’s some in the Royal Palace; I’ll get you another piece later."
Qi Linglong felt less sad, yet her eyes still lingered on the horse hoof cake.
An Yilin quickly called for One Person to come in and tidy up.
When the carriage no longer bore traces of the horse hoof cake, An Yilin asked, "How old are you?"
Qi Linglong replied, "Didn’t Sister Wenya say at the Prime Minister’s residence? My sister and I are fourteen."
An Yilin nodded, "Already this age, no wonder you understand."
"Understand what?" Qi Linglong asked, puzzled.
An Yilin didn’t answer, instead smiling and replying with a question, "Why did you blush just now? That’s understanding something."
Qi Linglong’s cheeks turned crimson instantly.
An Yilin admired her for a moment before asking again, "Has your family arranged an engagement for you?"
Qi Linglong, still red-faced, hung her head and shook it subtly.
An Yilin remarked, "Logically speaking, girls of this age should be married off. Why hasn’t your family arranged it yet?"
"I, I..." Qi Linglong stammered a while before speaking fully, "My parents say I’m so gluttonous that no one wants to marry me."
An Yilin laughed, "Very well."
Qi Linglong: "..." No one wants to marry me, and that’s good? If I weren’t afraid of you, I’d definitely bite you.
An Yilin adjusted his seating for comfort and casually inquired, "And your sister? No engagement for her either?"
