PERFECT REINCARNATION : Being Invincible in Another World-Chapter 48: Why the engagement?
The decision and the foundation behind the engagement.
The time at workshop was passing by smoothly. Caelion and Aurelion were doing constant qna sessions to get to the depth more. Aurelion got too immersed in the conversation. Caelion explained to Aurelion, all he understood from the session and then he continued.
"Though, I am still not completely satisfied yet, I want to observe her a bit more." Caelion expressed to Aurelion.
"Let’s do one thing, You meet me at the training grounds tomorrow." Caelion added.
"Ahh... Yes, I understand. Then, I’ll meet you at the training grounds tomorrow morning." Aurelion reacted to Caelion, then he took a pause and realized what he just agreed to.
"WAIT, TOMORROW?" Aurelion exclaimed. "I am going back at evening though." He added.
"Evening? What evening? Look outside dear nephew, it is already nearing dusk." Caelion pointed outside the window.
The Evening Sky had darkened a lot, clouds felt heavy, the moon could be sighted properly, it’s reflection was making the surroundings shine.
"WHAT THE... IT IS ALREADY NIGHT." Aurelion exclaimed.
"Well, it would be more accurate to say that the evening is at its ending period but there’s still sometime for dinner." Caelion said.
"We have been chatting for a long while around now, I guess you were too immersed in the conversation to notice."
"If you are already feeling hungry, I shall inform the servants to make your table, right now." He added.
WHAT? SHOULD I GO BACK NOW? WAIT... BUT EVEN I LEFT RIGHT NOW, IT WOULD BE STILL LATE IN NIGHT. I GUESS, I HAVE NO CHOICE EXCEPT STAYING HERE FOR THE NIGHT, TODAY.
Aurelion was too absorbed with the processing of the time that he completely forgot to answer. He took a long pause, the room felt silent.
"Nephew?" Caelion asked again.
"Ahh... Oh yeah, My apologies. I was spacing out." He apologized. "Do not worry about dinner, since it is already so late, I would love to receive all my answers, right now." He demanded with a polite but serious tone.
Caelion sat at his dashing chair again, gave a nice swing to his lush hair, took a hair tie and tied his hair at the nape. He took out a pair of spectacles from the side drawer and worn it.
Aurelion gave a long stare to Caelion doing all this. He just couldn’t believe me the visual he was looking at.
MAN, I UNDERSTAND WHY HE IS CALLED "THE MOST WANTED BACHELOR OF THE EMPIRE". IF I WAS A WOMAN, I MIGHT HAVE FALLEN FOR HIM AT THIS INSTANCE.
Caelion noticed Aurelion’s staring, he settled his tie, then pushed his spectacles above his nose. And said to Aurelion.
"Since I assume that you are talking about Young Miss Knightheart, your fiance. I am sure this will take some time, so just doing some preparations."
"Yes, exactly that part." Aurelion replied.
Caelion took his dashing pose, lifted his one leg up. "First of all, I want to assure you that the decision had nothing to do with Sel, only your father and I discussed it."
"So, if you already have some complaints about the whole arrangement, do not blame your mother as she also got to know about it later." He added.
"Now, tell me where should we start with?" Caelion asked.
Aurelion looked around a bit and then remembered the previous events. "I remember you were saying that there was a deep reason behind the whole engagement, so to understand it properly, I want to know about it from the foundation." He put his wish forward.
Caelion started explaining as if he was reading a bedtime story to Aurelion.
Long before the Eternal Empire was formally crowned, the Aeternum family existed as quiet arbiters between warring territories. While others clashed for land and dominance, the Aeternums studied patterns—of power, of collapse, of succession.
Before the First Magician emerged, the Salamander Continent was completely ruled by Aura Swordsmen and such was the law for the Aeternum Empire. The Aeternum Empire took pride in sword arts but they lacked skills in other masteries. Then, Zepharos appeared, he changed the whole world for the Salamander continent.
The Countries which only hired Swordsmen as soldiers were easily getting demolished by newly formed group of Magicians. The Aeternum family had still not earn enough demeanor or respect to be later called the Eternal Family. They along with the 1st Grand Duchy took the reigns of the throne and unified a major chunk of continent but still that was not enough to became the true ruler of the Salamander continent.
The Two Families Aeternum and Knightheart both understood at this point of time, that no matter how great they are as Swordsmen, if they could not tackle the Mages, their conquest for the Continent can never will be able to get fulfilled.
At that time, the Continent’s first Magician Family originated. While following Zeraphos’s Techniques and research, they grew strong enough to make countries fear them. Their Mastery in Magic was now second to none and that family was the Lunaris family.
It was an Aeternum patriarch who first proposed the triad alliance that united the Valerius blade and the Lunaris arcane under a single imperial vision. They drafted the earliest imperial accords, sealed ancient pacts with neutral forces, and established the first continuity laws that prevented the Empire from fracturing after its founder’s death. Though they never claimed the throne, their counsel shaped every coronation and crisis.
The Eternal Empire became a fixed triad, with Aeternum Valerius bloodline being the Royal Family became an Empire which got two Grand Duchy, one being the Knightheart Duchy which focused on Military affairs and worked on gaining strength while the other one being, Lunaris Family which focused on the Civil Affairs and development and worked for the economics of the country.
Aurelion stood up shocked. He interrupted Caelion between the story.
"NOW, I GET IT. FATHER MUST HAVE BROKEN AN WEDDING ENGAGEMENT WITH THE KNIGHTHEART DUCHY." He yelled. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
