PERFECT REINCARNATION : Being Invincible in Another World-Chapter 56: Familiars
The different types of magic familiar and an epiphany.
The training ground was in full swing. Sally also, successfully managed to transform into other forms and animals. After 2-3 transformations. She started getting arrogant.
"The honorable one can do this in its sleep." She boasted.
But then all her arrogance and confidence shattered, she attempted to transform into a deer but she failed pathetically as half of her body was brown while the other remain in human parts. This made it awkward to look at her. Hence, She failed.
She undo her transformation, came back to her original salamander form and then changed to human version Sally.
"Good job, Sally. Don’t be so disheartened. You did much well than I expected." Caelion consoled her.
"This is the main characteristic of a Morphveil, like I told before it can Shapeshift into any other creature at will." Caelion stated.
"Ok-Ok, we get it already. Clown, I am hungry, can I go now?" Sally was frustrated, and whenever she feels like that or to be honest anything, her first thought is always food.
"Oh yes yes, you can go now. Thanks for your cooperation, I’ll tell the maids to give you some sweets later." Caelion smiled.
Sally left the training grounds, Aurelion waved her off. Then, Aurelion moved towards Caelion.
"Ohh don’t worry nephew, we are starting with your summoning army part now." Caelion reacted.
"... Ahh, actually before that I want to know more about her speech pattern, sometimes she speaks so weirdly. Do you happen to know the reason behind it?" Aurelion asked the question he was looking for quite some while.
"Her speech? Does she speak weird? I guess, I was too engrossed to notice such things." Caelion took a pause, he pondered for some time then he answered, "The reason is you, Aurelion."
"... Huh..., Me? Why am I being blamed for her choice of words selection? I never taught her that." Aurelion expressed.
"It is not like, I am blaming you. I am just explaining it to depth. Every trait of Sally is influenced directly or indirectly by you." Caelion said.
"To explain it in simpler terms, the reason why Sally looked like a salamander is because somewhere in your mind, you subconsciously idolized a dragon as your summon, which resulted in her, but because of your incomplete knowledge of the holy element, the outcome came out as a dragon with no wings and way smaller size."
"Similarly, her speech is also manifestation of your subconscious mind. The more stronger she gets, the more she will synchronize with you and her speech pattern might become more weird." Caelion explained.
AHH... THIS COULD BECOME A PROBLEM IN THE FUTURE, WHAT IF SHE CUSSED SOMEONE? Aurelion thought.
"I see..."
"Let’s start with the Army formation now, I will worry about the future later."
"IT’S HERO TIME and GOTTA CATCH ’EM ALL" Aurelion boomed.
Caelion made Aurelion stand in the center. First, he explained all the theoretical aspects of the elemental circles. He explained the metaphysics and their development procedures.
Finally, Aurelion was ready for the summoning or forming familiar ritual. He stood at the center of the training array, one hand raised as a half-formed circle of light rotated slowly beneath his feet. He decided to rush through all the summoning in one sitting.
First came Water, Cael said ’Gee’. He exhaled once and extended his mana outward in thin threads, shaping the water segment first. A second arc of the circle bloomed in deep azure, smooth and fluid, lines bending like currents displaying it’s water properties as a magic circle. As it finally settled and merged with, a small familiar formed from mist and liquid sheena sleek serpentine spirit with translucent scales and eyes like polished glass. It moved without sound, coiling around the edge of the circle, leaving droplets that evaporated into soft light.Water Element was successful.
Then came grass, Aurelion said ’Whee’. The air shifted subtly as pale green glyphs unfolded, branching patterns spreading like roots across the rune lines. The mana felt different here, it was alive and pulsing. This time from the circle rose a fox-sized familiar woven from vines and leaf blades, its body layered in soft emerald and moss tones. Tiny blossoms flickered along its back before dissolving into motes of light. It looked a cute fox version of grass type monster.
Then came Earth and they both said ’That’s three’. Aurelion adjusted the pressure of his mana, compressing it before releasing it. The mana lines hardened into bronze-brown facets, angular and firm. A compact golem-like familiar emerged, not taller than his knee, formed of smooth stone plates fitted seamlessly together. Its eyes glowed faint amber, steady and unblinking, and each step it took felt heavy and Rocky.
Finally, he reached for air. The outermost ring thinned to near invisibility as if it had completely disappeared but faint lines of lightish blue spell circle could be seen. The spell circle felt much lighter than others. From the circle appeared a small avian familiar composed of drifting currents and faintly visible feathers made of wind itself. Its wings cut the air itself into small and little ripples.
The moment Aurelion summoned the air familiar, something inside him stirred. It was as if something got completed inside his core.
The magic circle now rotated in layered harmony, fire already fused with holy essence at its core, and water, grass, earth, and air stabilizing around it. Each familiar hovered or moved along its assigned segment, distinct yet aligned, as Aurelion observed the flow carefully.
He stopped the summoning and trying it with other elements. He took a pause and drew a blank for few seconds.
"... What happened, dear nephew?" Caelion asked.
"I don’t know it myself, Uncle Cael. I just felt like I gained some sort of epiphany right now." Aurelion expressed.
"QUICK, JUST DO ANYTHING. WHATEVER COMES FIRST IN YOUR MIND." Caelion reacted and yelled.
Aurelion did not know himself what to do but he just did.
"That’s FIVE LAYERED MAGIC CIRCLE. " Caelion awed.
