PERFECT REINCARNATION : Being Invincible in Another World-Chapter 63: The Chapels
Few hours before —
It was well past midday when a knock sounded against Lyra’s door, it woke her up. She groaned, rolled over, and one eye open just when Stefan entered with his usual calm expression. Behind him hovered and flew the four familiars, "His Highness requested that you look after them for a while," Stefan said. Lyra blinked once, then gave a sleepy smile with a yawn. "Ah, of course he did." She looked at them with judgy eyes let them inside and assured Stefan she would handle it. Once he left, she went to lay down on her bed again. The familiars scattered all around the room. Then, she woke suddenly as something licked her hand, the moment she snapped her eyes open, for a full second she did not move. Then—"AAAAAAAAA—!"
Cut to Present —
Lyra shared her experience. "It was my Sleep day, I was chillin— I mean resting peacefully when Stefan let loose some wild animals in my room." She added. "Do you know how I woke up to my nap from right now, a huge snake was hissing on my stomach,.....Ahhh.. That gave me a heart ache." Lyra started almost crying in her voice with some tear being visible.
Aurelion exhaled in relief and then it sticken him, "...Lyra." He said with a weird grin, "... I can free you from your duty and will also give you a one week of leave."
"You just need to do something for me." *hehehe* he laughed wickedly. Cooking up his devious schemes and trying to use the shoulder of our cute little gambler made.
"Two weeks of leave." She demanded. "Three days and 2 gold coins." Aurelion negotiated. "... Not below 1 week." Lyra stated her condition. Aurelion took a deep breath and paused.
"Final offer - 1 week of leave and 3 gold coins." He presented. "DEAL OR NO DEAL"
"Deal..." Lyra said and shook his hand.
Finally, the commotion settled. "..Firstly, Tell me where Stefan is," Lyra informed that he told her that he will be in the stables. Then, Aurelion added "... Ok, so here’s the thing you need to do."
Aurelion explained that when him and Stefan trying to sneakily escape from the tower, she must distract the others, and tell them that Aurelion is just resting in his room and make sure if anyone comes to check on him, she must divert them too.
"... Ahhh, you are taking advantage of this poor maid’s kindness, your highness." She reacted. "... I will do it though, anything for mone— Ahem, I mean anything for you, your highness."
The scheme had been prepared, all the pieces on the board were set except the most important one, the helmsman. Aurelion just needed to find Stefan and execute his planning.
Aurelion made his way toward the back chapels of the tower, the quieter section where the stable was. The stone corridors there felt quite older. He glanced around to look for Stefan, but there was sight of him here too. Just as he stepped past one of the archways, he heard a voice, a soft one.
It felt like a kid’s voice, no to be more precise , a teenager’s voice. Aurelion paused. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
His focus shifted towards that voice, so moved closer to that pillar but when he turned the final pillar and stepped into the open space, there was no sign of any boy. He gazed around, searching the surroundings.
Then, a voice called him from behind, ".. Your highness," Aurelion turned around and saw that Stefan was standing behind, "... What brings you here, my lord?" He asked.
Aurelion glanced around again, "... I thought there was a— never mind." He focused on his main motive again. "... Stefan, prepare a carriage, we are leaving this evening."
He bowed "...As you wish, my lord. I had already prepared the Royal Carriage and it is currently standing at the main gate. Just give the order and I shall take it out." He shared.
"...No, not that carriage," Aurelion said then added "... We are not going out from the main gate either." Stefan gave a confused look. Aurelion noticed.
Aurelion then took his leisure time to explain Stefan about his mischievous adventure, share about his conversation with Caelion and his order and explained about his sneaky tactical. Stefan did not say anything for a while and kept nodding.
And then, he took the initiative finally, "... If we are to sneak out, then I believe any carriage will not help us." He said. "... I suggest we take a wooden horse cart for this venture, which gains no attention and blends perfectly." He pondered for a while. "...I will do the necessary the steps needed for this, just leave the work at this old bones."
"...Your highness, meet me at the side wall. I will be waiting for you there." He said and bowed, ".. I shall take my leave to begin the structuring then." He said and left towards the even older part of the chapels.
"Nice, All preparations done. Now, I just need to be sly and need to escape without getting in Uncle’s radar." He murmured to himself.
Aurelion left the chapels with slower steps than he had taken coming in, trying to act inconspicuous. He took the way back to his room, walking down the hallways. By the time he reached the spiral staircase leading to his chambers, he was ready for the execution of the plan.
A thought still kept bugging him throughout his walking. That thought being who was the person behind the voice he heard in the chapels. He tried to be dismissive at first, but he had heard it too clearly for it being his imagination.
He entered his room, Lyra was already waiting there with a plate of food. "... You should eat something first, your highness. I have spread the word around in the servants that you have a mild stomachache so will be resting for a little. Also, his Grace’s aid informed me that your Grace will summon you after the dinner."
"HEHE, I WON’T BE HERE THEN" He smirked.
