Pestilence: Rise Of The Pure Undead-Chapter 401 Child Of Pestilence
Giving details about Loimos was easier said than done, although Milo had battled him face-to-face, and bore witness to his clash with Thanatok Ynigós, there was little to be gleaned for all of this, he manipulated rot, seemed to hold talent over all types of powers and manipulated a festering death force.
"He is… He's a ferocious combatant, even when diminished to barely a drop of his power, me and my companions could barely even force him back, even in this state, he was constantly out matching us all, in hand-to-hand combat, weapon handling, tactics, pure strength, it was like swimming against current, but your arms and legs were tied together, in the end, even after Gr- After one of my companions gave his life, and I released the most power I ever had, I could only force a sort of draw, against the most weakened version of him-" explaining this in great details, the carver waved one arm in the air.
"Aye, I don't care how strong he is, that tells me nothing, what are precise things he has done that seemed special? Is there anything about Loimos that sets him apart from the rest?" Arzt tapped his rugged and dry palms together, staring directly at Milo in spite of the cataract.
"Have you really never encountered any undead?" asked the young man, by all means, this realm did not seem spared from death, and as such, undeads should be capable of forming even there, and with the increase in death's power, even more so.
"No… I only care for carving and names, anything else is rubbish, I have delved deep into those who held special names, I even travelled to other realms in search of them, in search of names and carvings beyond the limits of this world…" the carver shook his head, Milo rising an eyebrow.
"You have gone to other realms?"
"Ah ah! That is not something the devout would want their people to know about, let me tell you! Eh… They would rather believe that the Emerald Realm is this inescapable land of utopia, if people knew the world outside, of the countless other realms… There would be less faithful followers to worship stinky beasts and a star that happened to be green!
Those fools… They prayed so hard and for so long, that they made the divine out of those things…"
"But yes, I did leave this realm and have gone to others, where there is a will, there is a way, I am certain you folks would have never found the Emerald Realm without the proper incentive, huh?" Milo scratched the back of his head, this old man was certainly correct on this fact.
"Most are boring, many are not hospitable, many I have not gone to, even more I don't even know where there, but I have never encountered undead during my voyage, I did find a small realm however, dark and filled with stars… Where I-"
"...Mmh, as I was saying, I have not encountered any undead, I did meet a man, too tall to even fit through most doors, a vile man that could engage in things I would rather not describe… But he too, had one of those names, in fact, now that I jog my memories, his name had that same sensation as that of Loimos… But he was not an undead at all… Say, what colour are his eyes?"
"Loimos's?"
"Who else? Go on! What colour?" the carver seemed to have been struck with an epiphany in the middle of his ramblings, brought about by a simple question that could have been answered with a single word.
His speech was getting clearer as well, as though regaining his ability to speak after countless years of never having to interact with another person.

"Loimos is a skeleton, he doesn't have eyes- But the hollows sockets did shine purple" the man had completely stopped carving at this point, forcing himself to move, his body cracking from being strained in ways it had not experienced in much too long.
"Ah yes, deep purple, a dark purple, right? And let me guess… But that purple, did it not look off? Like it was not a colour that you actually knew?" smiling with all of his yellowed teeth, not one of them going straight, the joy he demonstrated was rather chill-inducing.

"Well yes, that is exactly like that…" Milo responded in a low tone, he had been expecting a wizened old master, and Arzt was certainly ancient, but the attitude associated with this appellation in Milo's mind was not to be seen anywhere.
The carver was like a child in a candy store, rubbing his hands together, fingernails cracked and peeling off, deep ridges in both palms, quickly, he settled down again, rubbing his head in thoughts.
"Very well then, bring your friends in need here, and I'll carve them prosthetics, I would have done it anyways, but you have brought great information to me, thank you for this" returning to his previous position, Arzt shooed Milo away, repeating the same thing again.
"Thank you for helping, but what is a prosthetic? Is that what you call a limb replacer? And, are you going to make those out of stone?"
"Correct, and yes, but the prosthetics I make are not simply replacements for lost arms or legs, the stone is made to replicate the weight and flexibility, but it remains rock, it will become part of the body, yet retain the attributes of the material, it is an upgrade, though… It is excessively painful to install" he said, pointing at his own torso.
"I had to replace a few of my ribs, so don't worry, I have plenty of experience" with this, Milo nodded and bid his goodbyes, the carver moving to resume his work, only to notice that the baby swaddled in clothes had taken on much less peaceful visage, he had gotten too excited speaking of names, the baby had become skeletal, still an incredible job, but far from what was originally intended.
"Mmh, Blasphemy…"
"...And now, an undead called Pestilence, what were the names of those others… What others? Where did I learn of others from the purple? Ah yes, in that realm…"
Arzt spaced out for a split second, and then returned to carving.
'Now, where was I?' he put the skeletal baby down, reached for a block of stone, and went to create something else, only to throw glances at the baby.
"Oh" he had forgotten to give it a name.
'Well then, I'll name you… Child Of Pestilence, that should be appropriate'
