Pestilence: Rise Of The Pure Undead-Chapter 517: Incident Of Love
Entering the room with a walk that could only be described as arduous and somewhat ridiculous, a certain bespectacled young man leaned over the wall with one arm, his other hand busy holding the waist.
"Oh hello, Toby, right?" having finished what she was doing, Minli walked up to him, beckoning him to lay down since he was seemingly having difficulties standing, helping him get to the bed, his face as pale as the sheets he laid upon, clearly overexerted on top of it all.
"Now, what’s the matter? A bad fall?" suggested the healer as she prepared a variety of tools and concoctions to be used, it seemed like a likely option considering the state he was in, running through somewhere and falling on his waist, that would explain everything for sure.
"Hum… No, not quite…" responded Toby, rubbing his sweaty forehead.
"What is it then?" she pressed, clearly sensing that her current patient was unwilling to explain.
"I can’t possibly give you the best treatment without knowledge of how you ended up in this state, alright?"
"Yes, yes… It’s just a bit embarrassing to say…" he cleared his throat and slowly breathed out.
"You see… I have been talking to this beast sorceress called Ooaluz, and just yesterday- I was like : What is this test you had been talking about? Because you see, she had mentioned wanting to test if I was like a Jokra, which are like rabbits but in the Emerald Realm…" Minli just listened without a change in expression.
"...I quite like her, so I figured that I would get along with whatever the test was, but I drastically underestimated everything, and also completely forgot a certain aspect of rabbits- Before I even realised it, she was already dragging me through the streets and to her room! So I am a bit apprehensive, but also incredibly stupid apparently, because I still don’t understand what’s going on!"
"I see, I see… And then?" the healer was not fazed by the lengthy story, though she already had an inkling where it was going.
"So… Hum… It happens, the you-know-what-"
"Coitus?"
"Yeah… That"
"And so, she takes the lead and gets on top of me, I spare you the details-"
"I would hope so"
"But it’s like rapid fire, tap, tap, tap, tap, dozens of strikes every second… The first time, all was fine, the second time… I was already a bit worn out but still going, but the next few times, it only got worse, and so- I feel like my hips are made out of jelly, my flesh tenderised by the excessive, and repeated beatings"

"Can you help me with that?" he asked.
"We’ll check, take off your pants" she commanded.
"Huh…"
"Don’t act like a prude and let me see the damage, I’ll help you take them off if it hurts too much-"
"I’ll work it out!"
Minli chuckled, unlike what Toby probably thought, this sort of problems was very much common, with the sudden influx of a lot of Tamarisian refugees, many of them had caught some interest in the natural residents, for those that found themselves attracted to sun worshippers, things were fine, they were playful pranksters but gentle with others.
For those that instead went for beast worshippers, the story was not the same, at all.
Not that they were intentionally malicious in the least, but they were not the kind to dilly around, instead tending to follow their instincts and beastly nature, this could easily result in injuries and overexertion from the other party, unexpectedly taken into the mating rituals of people that harboured the traits of beasts.
Toby was not an exception and had suffered from a Jokra, or rabbit-like beast worshipper’s intensity.
"Well, I suppose that your girlfriend is of the sort that only focuses on communing with a single sort of beast, yes?"
"Indeed…" Toby said as he stared at the ceiling.
"You’re lucky, that makes her pretty light and small overall, nothing broken or fractured, it’s just the strain of the constant hits" said Minli with certainty after only a few moments of observation, channelling a bit of healing mana before rubbing some paste to calm the pain over the suffering area.
"What about this? The poor guy must have gotten through a beating as well"
"Oh, I noticed nothing wrong with it"
"Cause you know… One wrong move and crack! Breaking it right off even… But it does seem fine, take this paste and apply a little bit of it everyday until you’ve used it all, until it’s completely used up, you hear me? No stopping because it doesn’t hurt anymore!" Minli moved away to clean her hands.
"Considering that you’ve decided to get involved with a beast worshipper who solely communes with jokras… You better either get used to it, grow more resistant, or learn to communicate a little bit, they may follow their beastly instincts, but they are still people, you won’t offend her by asking to slow down or do something less vigorous, alright?"
"Understood…" Toby could just lay there for now and listen to Minli’s advice.
"Did you think of names, by the way?" asked the healer.
"Names? Oh" he had forgotten about that in his suffering.
"How do you even know that I-"
Minli just raised her eyebrows at Toby as though it was painfully obvious just by looking at him.
"Can a human like me and a beast worshipper even have children together?"
"No clues, but if it’s possible prepare yourself to have as many as there are trees in a forest, I know Jokras a little bit, when they start, they don’t stop- Until winter that is, or so I was told… If that’s true, it means you’ll have to hold out for a few more months"
"I would recommend visiting Spula and asking for stamina and fortifying potions, they are very good and last for a while" she smiled.
"The paste has been absorbed, who are you feeling?"
"Just a few tingles, but nothing painful"
"Perfect then, remember what I told you about the paste, everyday without failing, especially important for you, since I doubt you’ll be capable of saying no to your girlfriend’s advances, off you go!" shooing Toby away, Minli could only sight, to think that her work would be split in between grievous injuries inflicted by a vile undead and incidents in the bedroom, that was something she never would have expected the future to hold before living it herself.
But it was a good sign as well, the refugees were truly integrating into the realm, although struggling with properly understanding the norms and people that live here for the most part, they were learning.
One of the major concerns everyone had had upon arriving there was for the locals to either be wholly aggressive or hostile to their integration, it would be an understatement to say that they had been lucky in this regard.
Not only had the sun and beast worshippers been incredibly welcoming of their presence, but also provided housing and all necessities to them without even needing to be asked for it.
Now, refugees and locals were mingling together, getting very close to one another.
Minli would certainly take funny and embarrassing incidents over gruesome wounds and dismembered limbs.
Life was good.
Life was peaceful.
Life was simply enchanting.
