Pestilence: Rise Of The Pure Undead-Chapter 545 : The Others
The ease with which it was done left all other undeads in awe, the simplicity Loimos had to manifest such things into existence looked like a divine act, even if it was merely a combination of primeval rot and prior knowledge of how gateways to realms functioned.
Carnifex walked up to the collapsed Griar, or rather, to the headhunter in white.
"Rise, your true existence has just begun" he said, it was a shame to come to such means, but some negators were simply blind to the truth, Griar had been made into a true headhunter now, his mind- His ego had been trapped within the chest, what animated this body was the will of a mindless undead equipped with the negator's power and abilities.
It could have been otherwise, but alas, the best outcome was not always the one that came.
The undead rose as he was told, all traces of a personality seemed erased without fault, of course, it wasn't anyone who had done it, but Loimos in person, there was no room for mistakes.
"Lord Loimos, what shall be done concerning this realm?" moving away from the headhunter, Carnifex went to the side of Loimos.
Of course, the answer to that question wouldn't really matter to him as such affairs were outside of his duties.
"That will be decided once I return" handing out the horned undead a ball of compressed rot, Loimos casually strided right through the portal, the instant he was fully within, the skeleton fell from a small height.
Landing within a small field of tall, bright blue grass, instantly, he could tell that this realm rejected his very existence, not just the concept of undeath, but that of death itself, rot was not meant to be here, death force was an anomaly and the realm was very clear with these facts as even Loimos was having difficulties maintaining his form.
In fact, Loimos was incapable of taking even another step before exploding into a glass-like matter and vanishing entirely, this realm having forced what it perceived as a corpse to be broken down into the spirit life it was supposed to have become a long time ago, as such, the champion reformed on the other side after only a few moments.
"My Lord?"
"No one is to traverse this gate, the realm beyond is one no undead can exist within" he simply stated, weaving in rot to form a sealed structure around the portal.
"If no undead can exist there, how can we possibly conquer it?" Citil spoke up, joining her necrosed hands together.
"Come now, there is no challenge that Lord Loimos can not overcome" reassured Carnifex.
Loimos did not confirm such an outlandish claim, but concerning this particular realm, he had already thought of ways to potentially deal with realms inhospitable to death, though the empire didn't really have the means to do such a thing at the moment.
The general had already laid the foundations for it with Gunlaurgh, but there wasn't really a good source to furnish the instructors with and thus, form an actual force that wouldn't be just for show.
As although he had been basically instantly taken apart, Loimos had been capable of cleaning at a few details of this realm, enough to know that a simple military incursion would not cut it, but all of this wasn't urgent business, the gateway wouldn't be going anywhere and Loimos had already made sure to shut passage from both ways for now.
This realm was a big obstacle toward full sovereignty of death for certain, not only did the environment itself force the undead back, it was also filled with powerful warriors and yet unknown powers, as a realm with such a distinct manner of handling life and death was deemed to have its own unique way of power.
Until then however, there were other things to do.
Soon reappearing upon the surface, Loimos sensed a presence he had not felt in a little while, manifesting a pair of wings, the undead took off near the edge of where the miasma reached.
"General Loimos… It would appear that Belliste was unable to resist your assault" speaking with his three heads at once, Solast sounded a bit impressed, having expected conflict to continue for a few more dozens of years at least, warfare was rarely simple and true victory was almost never achieved, be it by absorption or total annihilation, and somehow, it seemed like the undead had done both at the same time, or at least, that's how it looked to to the dragon.
"What brings you here today?" simply asked Loimos, feet landing upon an invisible platform.
"Dragonlord Ronarkatast finds you rather impressive, and so do the other continents, they would prefer to avoid a confrontation with the undead empire… Well, I convinced my lord not to challenge you just yet, the others are naturally worried of the ramifications open conflict could bring to their nations, representatives of all continents wish to meet to come to agreements, they are even willing to trade to show goodwill" explained the sun dragon.

"Representatives, you say?"
Solast sighed.
"You wish for the leaders to come in person?"
"I am but the general of the vanguard, I handle relations with lands that are to be conquered, if we are to speak diplomacy with all other continents, all of which are far from our reach, it will be King Nitok that handles it, as such, only his contemporaries can possibly negotiate with him"
The dragon hummed but had to agree, he wouldn't want for his lord to take part in such a meeting unless all others were of the same relative standing, that would be insulting otherwise, even if truthfully, calling the other leaders relative to Dragonlord Ronarkatast was already exaggerating.
"Very well, but I can not guarantee that all will agree…"
"There is no meeting without them all"
"You say that you are 'but' the general of the vanguard, but you seem willing to make decisions on your own still" commented Solast, but without any hints of ire as he was exactly the same way.
Which led him to assume that similarly to the Dragonlord, this King Nitok was not quite as heavy on certain aspects of rulership and that it was his subordinates who ensured that the proper amount of respect was afforded to him, otherwise, he might just not care.
"I have all the clauses all leaders want to put in place for that meeting, I am granted authority to modify some of them if need be, are you going to be my interlocutor for this?" asked the dragon, wanting to know if Loimos had the sort of clearance to take such actions.
"I will"
The discussion that followed was nothing special, the sort of terms the living leaders had asked were to be expected, they had to meet in a neutral area, outside of the miasma of course, the numbers of people each leader would bring alongside themselves…
They were naturally cautious, unlikely was it that any of them had ever gotten to meet with a regal figure of undead nature, and certainly not one of King Nitok's calibre, they couldn't ignore the empire even if the space that separated them from it was enormous.
And it was to say that the sort of resources that could be exchanged interested all parties.
Although Loimos informed Solast that King Nitok could, and would, free himself to make that meeting possible immediately, the date was set in advance for multiple months from now.
Once all was said and done, Solast prepared to leave, but stopped for a moment, sparing a glance toward Loimos.
He wanted to ask something else, but retracted at the last moment, flying away without another word.
His retreating figure quickly disappeared as the three-headed dragon sped off with dreadful swiftness.
