Picking Up Attributes In Martial World-Chapter 41: Tier 4 Treasure Of Young Master Rong
Ye Jun quickly got up, resisting the exhaustion, climbed up a tree, and hid his presence. A Soul Tempering Realm cultivator would easily sense his presence, but nobody among the participants had attained that realm.
He quietly waited for a few seconds before jumping to a different tree to get a better view. After changing trees three times, he found them.
’The Tang Clan.’
His eyes glistened seeing their yellowish robes. The Tang Clan was less competitive than the Xia and Ye Clans as their main strength came from commerce, but that didn’t mean their younger generation wasn’t ambitious.
"Are we doing it?"
Hearing the whisper beside his ear, Ye Jun shivered and thought, ’She really is scary.’
He was a trained assassin, yet he didn’t even notice her until she spoke. It was frightening to think how she could kill him and he wouldn’t even know.
Shaking off the uneasy feeling, he nodded. "They definitely have ways to contact each other, so let’s start with them. The Clans would definitely want the Beast Cores."
"How are we going to do that?"
Ye Jun grinned. "We’re going to use our acting skills. Especially yours, Young Master Rong."
...
"We chose a good area this time," Tang San said as he led the group of four deeper into the Wildlands.
"Indeed. In such a short time, we killed four High-Grade Tier 1 Spiritual Beasts," his brother laughed and said. "We need to thank Third Elder for this."
"My father naturally wants the best for us," Tang Sui rubbed her nose and said. "He has connections in the White Gale Pavilion, so he gave us this information."
"We’re very grateful for it, Cousin," Tang San smiled at her. "In the end, we’re all working for the clan."
The ownership of Bright Star City was decided by the collective points of the Clan members, so they usually formed groups and fought together to bring even more points for the clan.
Even if they weren’t taken by the sects, the clans would make sure their contributions were rewarded, so members who weren’t confident in entering the sects used this method to gain more benefits from the clans.
Tang San and his group were like that too. They knew their chances of ranking higher were low, so they tried to contribute more for the Clan.
The Beast Cores they had collected till now were for the clan rather than themselves. As for the reputation of the clan, that was in the hands of geniuses, not average ones like them.
"Still, I’m envious of that bastard from the Ye Clan," his brother said, clicking his tongue. "He’s trash through and through, yet Song Liangxue wants him. Dogshit luck!"
"Didn’t you hear that saying?" Tang Sui laughed. "Curly-haired baboons have no intelligence but are incredibly lucky. This bastard is like that too." 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
"Shh! Don’t talk so much," Tang San warned them. "Whatever the case is, Song Liangxue currently values him, so it’ll be bad for our clan if she learns of this."
"Tsk! I doubt she’ll go that far for him," his brother was still hellbent on believing that Song Liangxue had some hidden agenda.
Just as Tang San was about to say something, the fourth member of their group warned them to be silent. He was the best scout among them, so they listened to his instructions.
"Someone’s ahead," he said, pointing towards a fallen tree. "Behind it."
Tang San nodded and whispered, "Can you check them out without alerting them?"
"I’ll try," the scout said before dashing forward.
His steps were nimble and silent, and he soon reached the tree beside the fallen one. He hid there and peeked to look at the other side, instantly recognizing the people sitting there.
’Ye Jun and that strange young master he brought along. What are they doing here?’
He crept closer to listen to their conversation and could hear everything clearly as they didn’t try to suppress their voices.
"I still can’t believe you agreed to help me, Young Master Rong," Ye Jun said, having a fawning smile on his face. "I’m grateful."
"Hmph! This Young Master is a man of his word," Rong Hua snorted. "Just remember to fulfill your side of things."
"Hehe! I’ve already prepared everything," Ye Jun smiled. "To think there was a treasure hidden here all along and no one found it. It’s a miracle."
"It’s not," Rong Hua shook his head. "It’s hidden quite well. Not to mention all three clans are weak here. Of course, they couldn’t find it."
"Then what about your Clan?" Ye Jun asked in confusion. "How did you find out about it?"
"Because it’s ours to begin with," Rong Hua replied with pride. "Two centuries ago, my Clan had to leave this desolate place and shift to the central lands, which caused us to miss a few of our treasures. We never searched for them, as it didn’t matter much."
"Your Clan is really mighty, Young Master," Ye Jun exclaimed. "To think a Tier 4 Treasure wouldn’t mean anything to them."
"But I’m here to reclaim everything my clan left behind," Rong Hua smirked and gripped his fan tightly. "But the place we hid it is quite special."
"How so?" Ye Jun asked in confusion. "You still haven’t told me anything."
"I needed to test your loyalty first," Rong Hua said. "It’s even better that you have that girl from the Song Clan smitten with you. We’ll discuss the matter about her later. I’m also quite interested in her."
Ye Jun’s smile seemed to crack as he forced out a laugh. "Haha, Young Master really jests. So, what is the plan? What do I need to do?"
"In the northeast of Bright Star City, there’s a clearing that slopes down into a valley, right?"
Ye Jun nodded. "Yes. It’s called the Whispering Valley."
"Good, we’ll head there later," Rong Hua nodded. "The Tier 4 Treasure is under the protection of an Array Formation and only people in the Body Strengthening Realm can enter and retrieve it. The weaker, the better."
"Ah! That’s why you chose me," Ye Jun finally understood everything.
"Yes. There are two Peak-Grade Tier 2 Spiritual Beasts there too, so I’ll kill them. You can take their Beast Cores."
Ye Jun bowed lightly. "Thank you for your generosity, Young Master."
