Ye Jun could see that his interactions with Song Liangxue annoyed Meihui, but she didn’t hate her. Far from it, actually. She just didn’t like what she was seeing.

She turned toward him.

Ye Jun stared out of the window at the darkness of the moonless night as he considered his words. He didn’t mind sharing a part of his secret, since it would only benefit him. Besides, the two of them had already trusted him with their secrets. He ought to do the same.

"Hmm. How should I explain it?" he pondered aloud. "If I have to summarize it, I can basically take others’ experience. Or rather, what is theirs. Kind of. Not stealing, of course."

"It takes time, but he absorbs things very fast," Meihui nodded and explained. "I showed him some Mysterious Techniques, and he learned them at a frightening rate."

"Doesn’t that simply equate to high comprehension? Is his physique related to that?" Song Liangxue asked.

"Not quite. Learning is a part of it, but not everything. And I can’t comprehend things entirely on my own," Ye Jun explained. "Like, you can give me a technique to learn from scrolls and it’ll still take me an average amount of time."

"But if you show it to him, he’ll learn quickly, as if absorbing your experience," Meihui added. "The more he observes us performing the techniques, the faster he learns. Don’t you think it’s strange how he grew proficient enough to beat Ye Chen in just a single month?"

Having power was one thing, but using it well was another. One could gain power quickly through various means, but they still had to learn to wield it themselves.

Ye Jun was different in this regard.

Song Liangxue grabbed his hand and looked directly into his eyes, a beautiful smile forming on her pale face. "I was right. You’re a gem hidden behind a few vermin. I guess this won’t be a temporary relationship."

"You really were considering that?" Ye Jun asked in amusement.

"Of course. I’m a realist, dear. While I did take a liking to you, it didn’t change your inability to catch up to me. I was prepared to spend a few decades with you and then walk alone on my journey of the Martial Dao."

"Fair enough," Ye Jun couldn’t argue with that.

"But your innate physique changes things," she continued with a smile. "We can now be a proper couple and walk this journey together. I’m glad to have you with me, dear."

"The pleasure is all mine." Ye Jun kissed her hand and smiled.

"I’ll leave this carriage," Meihui grumbled. "I don’t want to sit here and watch you two whisper sweet words. It’s torture."

"No, we’ll restrain ourselves," Ye Jun said, grabbing her hand to stop her, but she yanked it free and looked away. "You were saying something about this physique?"

"You’re hateful!" Meihui spat before turning toward Song Liangxue. "Anyway, he didn’t have the Yang Physique when he first met me. He acquired it later."

"Really?" Song Liangxue rubbed her chin thoughtfully. "Then it means he can evolve it as well. It’s unheard of, but so are the bizarre abilities his physique provides. If given enough time, he might even acquire the Heavenly Yang Innate Physique."

’I didn’t think this far,’ Ye Jun thought.

"Yes. If he acquires anything even close to it, you two can become dual cultivators," Meihui said, a bashful look appearing in her eyes.

"Wouldn’t the two extremes contradict each other?" Song Liangxue asked.

"It’s possible," Meihui nodded in agreement. "But it can be resolved by having a good dual cultivation technique. If this becomes reality, you two would progress much faster than others."
