Chapter 91: Pavilion Master Han

Ye Jun was quite surprised upon reaching the mountain peak. He expected a cold atmosphere here, but it was no different than Bright Star City.

They stopped before the house as Han Yuexin went forward and announced their arrival. Soon, the door slid open and a mature man with a lean build, angular face, and a set jawline stepped out.

The man donned regal white robes with faint sky-blue patterns. A soaring Falcon mark was etched on his upper sleeves, showing his affiliation.

He turned toward them with a gentle smile on his face and said, "Are these the new recruits this year? You have found good seeds, little sister."

That was when he noticed Song Liangxue and raised an eyebrow in surprise. However, he didn’t freak out and simply turned toward Han Yuexin. "I need an explanation."

Han Yuexin scratched her cheek before sighing and telling him everything. Then she said, "And they joined my sect because of how amazing I am."

The man simply gave her a glance before turning toward the others. They bowed slightly and greeted him. He nodded and said, "Greetings. I’m Han Zixuan, the Pavilion Master of White Gale Pavilion."

"Ye Jun greets the Pavilion Master!" Ye Jun clasped his hands before him and said.

"Ulan Tukatai Verum!" Mountain tapped his chest lightly. "Greetings, Pavilion Master Han."

This was the first time Mountain spoke his true name and Ye Jun had to admit he preferred his nickname.

The other two also introduced themselves.

"I’m glad you have chosen my sect to continue your journey," Han Zixuan said calmly, carrying the dignity of a leader. "My tiny sect won’t be the end of your journey, but I promise it’ll be an important part of it."

Holding his hands behind his back, he addressed them, "As long as you are willing to work hard and face hardships, the Pavilion will ensure you grow properly. But there will be no favoritism. Only the ones who earn it get it."

He stepped forward and continued, "But I already know you will do that. So I’m not worried. You are the best seeds we have received in a long while, so I have high hopes for you."

"We won’t let you down," Meihui said, keeping a masculine voice due to her disguise.

"Haha! I’m sure of it," Han Zixuan chuckled. "You are one step away from advancing to Soul Tempering Realm. With it, you can directly enter the Inner Sect. So can you, Miss Liangxue."

"Please address me by my name, Pavilion Master," Song Liangxue said. "I’m currently a disciple of your sect, not the daughter of the Song Clan."

"Very well," Han Zixuan nodded. "So can you tell me why I shouldn’t send you directly to the Inner Sect?"

"Do you want to?" Song Liangxue asked in return.

"No. Your presence will help my sect more than it would help you," Han Zixuan stroked his chin and said. "Still, I am curious about your answer."

"It isn’t that difficult to guess," Song Liangxue turned her gaze to Ye Jun and continued. "I just want to be with my husband and have a peaceful place to cultivate."

"Interesting!" Han Zixuan finally turned his attention to Ye Jun. "You’re one interesting lad. I’ll keep an eye on your progress."

"Please don’t," Ye Jun hurriedly said. "I mean, I’ll just feel self-conscious about it and might make mistakes."

"Ah! Makes sense. I’ll occasionally check your progress then."

His friends gave him odd looks. Since when did he begin to care about others paying attention to him?

"In any case, as the best recruits, you will receive some privileges," Han Zixuan said. "Yuexin will explain everything to you. I have some matters to attend to. But remember, this sect relies on you."

After that, he kicked against the ground and soared high into the sky, turning into a dot before long.

Ye Jun continued to stare at him and said, "No offense, but your brother really likes to put on a show."

"Hmm? Whatever do you mean?"

Ye Jun turned back to her and said, "This happens every year, right? To motivate the new recruits and make them believe that the Pavilion Master himself values them."

"Tsk! You catch on too quickly," Han Yuexin clicked her tongue. "It was my idea, since it usually helps increase their productivity while it takes basically nothing."

"True," Song Liangxue agreed with her. "Give people a reason to believe in and they will work hard for it. A very common method."

"The last one was just a show of strength?" Ye Jun guessed.

"Not that one. He just likes to travel like this," Han Yuexin said. "The winds here are dangerous for others, so they don’t dare do the same as him."

"So it is a show of strength," Ye Jun shrugged.

Han Yuexin shook her head and led them down. Apparently, this was the highest peak in the mountain range White Gale Pavilion controlled.

Finally, they reached a point from where he had the perfect view of the sect. Windy ridgelines and high cliffs. Alongside them sat the sect. The path to reach it was perilous, filled with terrible winds that changed the shapes of the terrain.

"There is an Array Formation around the sect," Meihui said, looking into the sky.

"You can sense it? That’s surprising," Han Yuexin blinked in surprise. "Not many can do it at the Qi Condensation Realm."

Meihui bit her lips, almost forgetting that she was in disguise so she wasn’t supposed to know all of this. Or at least she shouldn’t be able to sense it. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

"His senses are quite good," Ye Jun said. "I guess it’s some secret of the Central Lands."

Han Yuexin hummed and ignored it. She said, "Yes. The Array Formation protects the sect. Otherwise the Domain Winds would obliterate it. Also, I just realized I’ve been calling him Sect Master, but he’s called Pavilion Master."

"Happens."

Next, Han Yuexin took them to the central mountain, for which they had to cross stone bridges with drops of more than two thousand meters or more.

When they reached there, she gave them each a Jade Stone and said, "Send your Qi into it and you’ll know where to find your abode. Rest well for today, or do whatever you want. Next morning, be there in the Falcon Fields or just the Training Fields if you forget."

She smiled at them. "You’ll receive further instructions there along with the other new recruits."
