Playboy: Medical and Martial Master-Chapter 283: Getting Huang Qianggang Drunk
When Huang Qianggang walked into the living room carrying a bag of fruit, he only saw Bai Ran mopping the floor in front of the sofa with an absorbent mop.
Bai Ran was wearing a conservative, full-length nightgown that covered her from neck to ankle, showing no skin except for her face. Her long hair was piled on top of her head and held with a pink lace butterfly hairpin, giving her a gentle and graceful air.
Huang Qianggang gazed at her mature, alluring figure, his eyes full of love. It must be because we have a guest that Ranran is dressed so conservatively.
Such a virtuous wife, what more could a husband ask for! Huang Qianggang sighed inwardly and strode over. "Ranran, I’m back."
"Mm, hubby, have you eaten?" Bai Ran looked up at him, her gaze as gentle as water, yet she seemed completely detached.
"Heh, I already ate. Had some pork knuckle with rice from a roadside stall." Huang Qianggang walked over, set the fruit down, and plopped onto the sofa. He looked toward Sun Zhe, who was eating at the dining table. "Doctor Sun," he asked with a smile, "is Ranran’s cooking to your liking?"
Hearing this, Sun Zhe looked up and gave him a small smile, sneaking a glance at Bai Ran. Suddenly, a twinge of guilt pricked him. Though, to be honest, Bai Ran really was to his taste.
"Yes, her cooking is delicious."
"Of course! After all, look whose wife she is!" Huang Qianggang’s face was filled with pride, as if basking in her glory. "Anyway, I’m glad you like it!"
With that, he picked up a cookie from the coffee table, but as he was about to eat it, he frowned. "Why is this cookie wet?"
Bai Ran casually replied from the side, "You can’t eat those anymore. I accidentally spilled water on them. Just throw them out, I’ll get new ones."
"We can’t do that." Huang Qianggang’s expression turned serious. "They haven’t expired, they’re just a little wet. We can’t be so wasteful!"
He often explored the wilderness alone, enduring hunger and hardship, so he had a deep respect for all food. As long as it was edible, it should never be wasted. That was the first rule of survival in the wild.
Bai Ran glanced at him and said coyly, "Suit yourself. You’d better eat them all, or they’re getting tossed."
Huang Qianggang laughed. "Alright. I’m always the one finishing what you can’t, aren’t I?" Then he looked at Sun Zhe again. "By the way, Doctor Sun, you and Ranran should go to the Mountain God Temple this afternoon to pay your respects to the Mountain God! I saw you weren’t awake this morning, so I didn’t get to tell you. You have to pay respects to the Mountain God before going into the mountains."
Sun Zhe smiled. "Sounds good. I was hoping to get out and look around anyway."
Huang Qianggang said seriously, "If the rain stops today, we should be able to head into the mountains tomorrow afternoon."
Sun Zhe nodded. "That would be best."
Just then, Bai Ran tossed the mop to Huang Qianggang. "You finish mopping up this water. I’m going to get changed."
"You got it, honey!" Huang Qianggang caught the mop and jumped to his feet, brimming with energy, as if it were an honor to help his wife with the chores.
Seeing his enthusiastic display, Sun Zhe’s guilt deepened. He couldn’t imagine how Huang Qianggang would react if he knew where that water had come from. To any observer, the couple seemed to have a great relationship, and Huang Qianggang clearly doted on Bai Ran. So, Sun Zhe couldn’t understand. With such a good husband, why would Bai Ran do something like this? Could it really be like they say online... that after thirty, most women value sex more than affection? That no matter how spiritually faithful they are, if their desires aren’t met, they’ll stray?
A short while later, after Huang Qianggang finished mopping and went to the bathroom to wash the mop, Bai Ran suddenly trotted over to the dining table. She patted Sun Zhe’s head and gave him a wink. "So? I handled that pretty well, didn’t I?"
"You did," Sun Zhe said, giving her a strange look.
Bai Ran let out a sigh of relief. She unbuttoned her nightgown, opening it to reveal a sexy, tight-fitting short dress underneath. "It’s all your fault," she cooed. "I’m still sticky down there. It’s so uncomfortable to walk."
"My bad, my bad," Sun Zhe said sheepishly.
Bai Ran lifted one silk-clad leg and gently nudged his waist with her knee. "Weren’t you so aggressive when you were bullying me earlier?" she said with a sneer. "Why so timid now?"
A bitter look crossed Sun Zhe’s face. "Bai Ran, you should button up. He’ll be out any second."
...
After Sun Zhe finished his meal, the three of them left together. Huang Qianggang drove them to the Mountain God Temple in his pickup truck.
"Ah Zhe, you and Ranran go on in."
"Brother Huang, aren’t you coming in?"
"I was already here this morning. If I go in now, I’ll have to buy another ticket. It’s fine, I’ll wait for you out here!"
...
Inside the Mountain God Temple, Sun Zhe discovered that the so-called "Mountain God" was a human-headed, snake-bodied figure. Locally, it was also known as the "Red Flower Snake Lady."
Sun Zhe lit three incense sticks and stood before the three-meter-tall statue of the Red Flower Snake Lady, bowing solemnly.
Beside him, Bai Ran lit her own incense from a candle. "Ah Zhe, do you believe gods exist in this world?" she asked.
Sun Zhe thought for a moment. "In my view, the so-called gods were probably just ancient people’s romanticized version of beings or things that possessed great power. If we must say there are gods in this world... then I think they would be the ones who built planes and cannons for Hua Country, the ones who grew the grain that fed our nation, and the ones who developed the atomic and hydrogen bombs."
"That seems to make sense," Bai Ran smiled. "They are the real gods."
Sun Zhe continued, "As for all these other gods and buddhas, I think they’re just a matter of faith. If you believe in them, then they’re real to you. But the ones enshrined in temples just seem to be for making money. After all, you never saw them come out and save the world during times of chaos."
"That’s true," Bai Ran said, covering her mouth with a giggle. "We had to pay a fifty-yuan entrance fee just to come in and burn incense, and then buying a few sticks from them cost another two hundred. And they won’t even let you bring your own."
"Well, you know how it is," Sun Zhe laughed. "Alright, Bai Ran, let’s go. Brother Huang is still waiting."
"Ah Zhe, what do you want for dinner? We can go grocery shopping together later."
...
After leaving the Mountain God Temple, Huang Qianggang drove Sun Zhe around for a bit. But with the heavy rain, there really wasn’t anywhere to go. Around four in the afternoon, the three of them went to the market to buy groceries and then returned home.
Bai Ran prepared a feast and even brought out a bottle of red wine she had been saving, saying that since it was a rare occasion to have a guest, they should celebrate properly.
...
Amidst the clinking of glasses, it was already past ten o’clock. With the last glass of wine downed, Huang Qianggang finally collapsed onto the table.
Bai Ran’s face was flushed. She looked at Huang Qianggang, who was passed out on the table, and let out a long sigh. Turning to the equally drunk Sun Zhe beside her, she said, "Finally got him drunk."
Sun Zhe, dazed, leaned back in his chair and pretended not to hear. He had seen it from the start. Bai Ran was intentionally getting Huang Qianggang drunk. And he didn’t need to guess why. She simply wanted to finish what they hadn’t this afternoon.
"Ah Zhe, help me get him to his room." Bai Ran’s gentle demeanor was gone. She looked at Huang Qianggang and said coldly, "I don’t want to touch him."
"Uh, okay..."
A short while later, Sun Zhe had just helped Huang Qianggang into the room and laid him on the bed when Bai Ran followed him in. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
"Ah Zhe, come to my room later. I have a surprise for you."
Without waiting for a reply, she gave him a sultry look and turned to leave.
