"What are you doing there? Hurry up and get out of my way!"

At the officer's signal, several Netherworld Dog soldiers brazenly approached with guns, trying to drive away the crowd.

"Officer, we're not obstructing traffic, and we've applied to the city hall for the gathering. We haven't done anything wrong, have we?"

One player on the periphery, whose shoulder was pushed, glared at these NPCs with dissatisfaction.

We didn't mess with you; you came looking for trouble yourselves.

Keep in mind, the administrative authority of Taiping Continent is currently in the hands of Horizon Corporation. What right does an illegal armed civilian group like Netherworld Dog have to bother me?

Shouldn't I be the one asking this question?

The Netherworld Dogs have been swaggering around Dog Town for ages; even NCPD officers wouldn't dare talk to them like this.

The Netherworld Dog grunts sent over to test the waters by the lieutenant immediately flared up, directly raising their guns and pointing them at the player's forehead.

"Still talking back? Don't you know this place is ruled by us, Netherworld Dogs?"

"Believe me, if I shoot you dead right now, no one would dare intervene."

But the players couldn't care less about the Netherworld Dogs; they came to cause trouble?

"What the hell!"

"Where did this idiot come from?"

Originally merrily drinking, the players immediately set their drinks aside when they noticed someone pointing a gun at them. Guns were drawn, cyborg work was activated, just waiting for these NPCs' names to turn red with glowing health bars, ready to kill and loot equipment.

"Get away from me!"

"Back off! Or I'll shoot!"

Realizing this group was unfazed by them, the Netherworld Dog soldiers felt a bit panicked, but their ingrained arrogance prevented them from backing down. They could only muster up courage to shout back, hesitant to make the first move while waiting for the other side to start the fight, freezing in a standoff until a voice emerged.

Clink...

Clink...

The glass bottle striking the road railing made a crisp sound, prompting the players to clear a path, seemingly realizing something.

Holding half a bottle of wine, Gloria stood amidst the crowd with a few strands of red hair messily hanging over her forehead, her cheeks flushed with drunkenness and her breath catching. Even from her eyes, one could see her unusually troubled state.

Lin Miao went in and hadn't returned; he hadn't even sent a message back. Mann's group hadn't followed him in, making Gloria deeply worried about his safety.

Even though she knew there probably wouldn't be any issues, she couldn't shake off her concern, making her feel her own impotence.

These Netherworld Dogs before her might have been sent by Hansen; Gloria didn't want to cause trouble that might disrupt his plans.

She asked, tipsy but defiant,

"Officer, we're just drinking here. Is there a problem?"

"What's the problem?"

The Netherworld Dog soldiers sensed this woman didn't want any trouble, immediately emboldening them again.

"This is Dog Town, damn it! Who do you think you are to dare pull these stunts in our territory?"

Evidently, this soldier didn't connect these people with those who had previously stormed the Cleaner base in town; or who'd have imagined it?

"....."

Listening to a whole rambling speech, Gloria realized the underlying intent was nothing more than extortion and calling a few pretty girls to entertain them, accompanied by lewd glances towards the female players in the crowd.

"Those ones, call them...."

Frustrated by the lack of news from Lin Miao, Gloria felt a surge of anger.

Why should I converse with such lowlifes?

The player's nature is contagious.

Gloria's body moved faster than her mind.

Bang!

The sound was of a glass bottle shattering against the head, the beer mixed with glass shards slicing through the soldier's synthetic scalp, revealing the metallic sheen of the bones beneath. The soldier, shocked by the sudden outbreak of violence, barely sought to retaliate with his gun when a sharp blade pierced upwards through his jaw to his brain, snuffing out his consciousness in an instant.

Drunken Gloria watched indifferently as the Netherworld Dog soldier collapsed to the ground, the surgical blade extended from her forearm slowly retracting.

The soldier's death was nothing less than a catalyst; now not only the initial querying Netherworld Dogs, but those prepared in the rear shifted their aim towards the players, poised for bloody conflict.

"What are you all doing? Quickly drop your weapons!"

At some unknown time, two vehicles emerged from Dog Town's interior towards the gate. Upon scanning, Gago in the first car witnessed the scene and urgently ordered the Netherworld Dog soldiers ready to open fire to cease.

The colonel wants to leverage the cannon fodder's death for personal gain, have a few people killed, then tally it up for later compensation claims with Lin Miao, but without actually engaging in combat with Lin Miao at this juncture.

Some points of negotiation failed, but others were successful.

"Mr. Lin... what do you think..."

Gago, halting the conflict, turned to look at Lin Miao in the car.

"Could you please get your people to clean up the mess?"

Lin Miao hadn't anticipated Gloria's straightforwardness in killing, but a few small fry wouldn't matter; even if a real fight broke out, it was within his plans, only cleanup afterwards would be a hassle.

He drove the car in front of Gloria, patting the passenger seat, "Get in."

Like a child who'd done wrong, meekly washed of the previous ferocity, Gloria, her face flushed, lowered her head and opened the door, getting in.

Lin Miao glanced over at the players, somewhat dispirited by their unsuccessful killing spree.

"Keep the music going, keep dancing!"
