Players Invade Cyberpunk-Chapter 855 - 276: Ironman Rebellion_3
Slacking off is simply exhilarating.
Even knowing there's an AI hidden in the Little Beidou Laboratory, she's unfazed. If she can't win, she calls in reinforcements. Her crew hides thousands of hardcore tough guys behind her, don't even mention the roaming AI, they'll shake out the CPU for you.
The deeper they go into the lab, the colder it gets, to the point where both of them can see their breath in the air.
This low temperature is caused by the server's liquid nitrogen cooling system, which means they're getting closer to the server room area.
The surroundings gradually darken, the lights in the narrow hallway flicker, the blinking red light from the CNC interfaces mimics hidden eyes eyeing the intruders, and the sound of mechanical movement whispers in your ear, sparking fear.
As they go deeper, those red glows in the dark multiply, and before they know it, the lights in the entire passage go out, plunging everything around them into darkness, only for the light to return a few seconds later, with control interfaces on the walls, safety passage indicators, and flow signs…
On all electronic screens, the same sentence is written in deep red letters:
[warning] 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
[warning]
[warning]
Countless deep red letters surround the three of them, and the color grows deeper, as if ready to drip blood at any time, while the piercing alarm bell rings loudly, causing irritation and unease.
Alex tightened the grip on his gun.
"Song Zhaomei! Why aren't there any summons?"
Song Zhaomei shook her head: "No... It's the AI in the Little Beidou Laboratory... It's malfunctioned, but my authorization is still intact... Damn it, it burned out the power to the surveillance system, I can't see the situation ahead."
As she spoke, she attempted to control the pipeline gate to open.
In Song Zhaomei's view, two streams of data are battling within the numerical control programs of the entire Little Beidou Laboratory, trying to seize control over the equipment.
But this is, after all, Little Beidou's territory. Back then, Military Science hackers built a massive data firewall here to prevent roaming AI attacks, yet these very firewalls now serve as barriers for Song Zhaomei, becoming the roaming AI's domain.
The pipeline gate ahead opened slightly but was soon forcefully shut down by Little Beidou.
Suddenly, the once-quiet passage echoed with dense footsteps, but they weren't human footsteps; they sounded more like the collision sounds of some multi-legged object moving, drawing closer.
"Alex, hurry!"
Li De rushed to the gate first, using his hands to forcefully prop it open halfway. After Alex entered, Li De closed the gate again forcefully.
One could say the width of a double-door refrigerator isn't just for show.
At the same time, Song Zhaomei's voice came through the comms to their ears, expressing surprise with a hint of panic.
"This... This is impossible... These robots don't match Military Science's intelligence; they're not engineering robots at all. They're meant to serve as computational power auxiliary tools for hackers."
Alex: "What do you mean?"
Song Zhaomei: "Originally, Little Beidou was indeed a Military Science project to domesticate cyber life forms for their use. But possibly due to hackers' limited skills at the time, a single person couldn't withstand the mental pressure of deep diving, so they created these Hellhounds, under the guise of auxiliary engineering robots, yet they actually distributed computational power for hackers... Now all of these Hellhounds have become auxiliary tools for that roaming AI."
"Damn it! Those company dogs can never be trusted!"
Alex cursed fiercely, wishing he could dig up the Military Science leaders of the past and execute them for five minutes.
Moreover, a single intelligence mismatch implies the authenticity of other intelligence could also be questionable, leaving how much remains reliable to the sky.
And compared to the mission, Li De asked the rare question, "Song, are you alright?"
"Me?"
Song Zhaomei was taken aback. She wasn't under much pressure and could even listen to some tunes.
"I can hold on."
"Don't push it. Even if it's just Alex and me, we can still finish the remainder."
"Really, it's fine. The project recently achieved a major breakthrough; Little Beidou can't do anything to me right now. But the issue is that the AI's hiding place might have already expanded beyond its original server room, possibly using not only these Hellhound robots but possibly other things as a vessel. If it escapes, the consequences could be dire."
"And I've detected the AI taking control of more and more robots, their number... nearing two thousand... two thousand two... Good heavens, how many did they make exactly..."
Alex took a sharp breath, feeling like Military Science and Hansen truly stirred a massive issue this time.
"Take it one step at a time then."
Li De maintained his composure.
"No matter what it wants to do, Hansen's preparations won't leave the Little Beidou Laboratory's engineering area; we'll bomb the server room first, then head to the engineering area to clear the remaining problems."
PS: Many of the things mentioned in this work are actually official settings, not the author's private setting.
Including but not limited to Soviet Petrochemical smuggling mid-to-low-end prosthetics to the European Community for sale, Soviet Petrochemical remote-controlling Cleaners, names of Soviet retired special forces and spies (Dog Town Brazilian commission boss), biotech cloning, artificial wombs (collaborative content), the Ye family brainwashing, food addiction, cults, massive AI armies, material transformations (easter eggs), and so on and so forth.
Moreover, official settings include cyberpunk main content (you know), so don't worry about the protagonist and players being someone's pawn or BAD END or anything; this book is purely the royal road content, even if someone uses them, it's an absolutely positive guide.
