Chapter 1405 - 1405 Dragon’s Children

Six months of meticulously and carefully moving around their ill-gotten wealth, along with delicately crafting their fake identities, Kisuke was finally able to open the 4th branch of his beloved dagashiya (candy shop).

Kisuke was arranging the merchandise he collected and was putting prices on it. Since these 'penny' candies hardly exist in this day and age, Kisuke spent a significant amount of money to secure almost all the remaining supplies. Some of them had already gone bad, and many were about to expire because, for all intents and purposes, they had become collectibles, so he used his expertise to restore them. 'I'll have to make the products myself next time, I guess?'

Benihime, who was lazing around, saw the newly written price tag and asked, "Is that alright?"

"There's no point if elementary school kids can't afford them," Kisuke answered briefly.

Tiamat, who had returned to her Zanpakuto form because she was very uncomfortable transforming into humanoid form without her horns, asked, [Couldn't you have made all of them from scratch? What's the point of buying them?]

Kisuke's hands stopped for a moment as he thought of an answer, "...Hmmm... I guess it's just a matter of principle. I'd like my shop to have authentic merchandise, at least for the first batch when it's still possible to acquire them."

Kisuke then walked toward the doors of his shop to open it. "And I moved around to arrange our identities, so I might as well pick them up."

It took Kisuke several months to forge their identities because he wanted anyone who would look into them to find nothing wrong with their documents. It would still be suspicious at some point, but it would at least give them a background that would make 95% of investigators out there stop searching further.

When searching for any 'Urahara' that he could use, Kisuke found a good identity that he could take advantage of.

He was an orphan whose parents died in an accident during his teenage or high school years. Because his parents were estranged from the rest of their families, he dropped out of school and got involved with the wrong crowd before disappearing a few years later.

When Kisuke further investigated, he found traces of him dealing with drugs and getting killed because of it.

At this point, Kisuke thought that it was good enough and destroyed most of the traces leading to his disappearance, manipulating his documents to suit his needs.

Kisuke didn't just stop there and forged some documents for Benihime too, making her his adoptive sister.

In Tiamat's case, it was a lot easier. Because of Regalzeva's invasion more than 30 years ago, there were also a lot of families that disappeared without ever being found, so Kisuke gave Tiamat the surname of Hayes, an amnesiac girl who Kisuke and Benihime found and could only remember very few things about herself.

"So how are you going to explain this shop?" Benihime asked.

"I'll just say I set it up. It's suspicious, yes. But that's where the fun is." Kisuke had already confirmed from Azazel, Ajuka, and Mitsuya the information that was passed to the Gasper Vladi of this world, and to his surprise, they only sent a short message about his basic background and abilities. It didn't even mention Benihime's name. Thanks to the constraint of exchanging messages, they didn't even have a photo of him and Yoruichi sent out.

When he asked why, Azazel told him that he didn't want Kisuke to become their enemy outright and only shared bits of information to confirm the real situation in the 'future.'

Basically, as long as he didn't use his real name and usual Shinigami abilities, it would be hard to think that he came from the 'past.' And even if they did, they'd first question the possibility of that happening.

Kisuke finished marking everything and turned to Benihime, "I'm going to shop and introduce myself for a bit." Despite being in an unpopulated area, the shopping district was relatively near, with many schools nearby, including the now very famous Kuoh Academy.

Benihime just waved her hand and buried her face in her phone.

. . .

Kisuke walked around the shopping district, getting some supplies, including ingredients for today's dinner. He also used this chance to explore and chat with many of the shopkeepers and, when the time was right, introduce his newly opened dagashiya.

Most of them were very intrigued, as they were not aware of any open dagashiya anymore in the whole country. And while the old shopkeepers were interested, the relatively young ones hadn't even seen one, and the 'dagashiya' they knew were just specialty souvenir shops. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

Of course, these conversations would sometimes attract the attention of customers, and they'd have a lively discussion about the old days.

Kisuke had already bought everything he needed, so he intended to go back when Tiamat suddenly asked, [This is 30 years into the future, yet the world we came from seems to be more advanced.]

Although it had been 9 months since they arrived in this world, Tiamat mostly stayed at home, only going out when they were robbing some place, so this was the first time she had a proper look at a normal street.

'While the supernatural world has become public knowledge, there's still a clear separation between them and the normal world. As you might have noticed, although this is a very famous town where the supernatural is very active, there are very few Magic tools. They probably have a very good reason for that, but as a result, the normal world didn't grow much because most of the development would be on Magic technologies with military purposes as the primary focus.'

Kisuke thought that one reason might be the infiltration of Evies and Etouldes. If the normal world developed just like the supernatural world, innocent people would be the first ones to be in danger of exposure, and it would be harder to find these infiltrators.

Because of the barrier Kisuke placed over the Draconic Deus, this didn't become a big issue, and everyone was allowed to develop as much as possible. It also helped immensely when the Belial Clan pushed for further integration of various technologies with everyday life, which probably didn't happen in this world because it was too costly and not aligned with the higher-ups' goals.

[By the way, are you going to ignore that?] Tiamat changed the topic.

Kisuke knew what she was talking about because he could feel the stare of two Devils, both possessing an unbelievable amount of Draconic Aura.

Kisuke sighed and turned toward an alley where a boy with red hair and a girl with blonde hair styled with impressive four drills, both in Kuoh Academy uniforms, were staring at him with curiosity. "How may I help you, young mister and young miss?"
