Please Take Care of Me, Young Master Quan-Chapter 26: The Key
Chapter 26: The Key
The atmosphere in the private room was indeed pleasant, featuring effective soundproofing and the latest equipment.
Shen Wan put down her bag and casually turned on two machines.
Zhou Chi stood in place with his hands in his pockets, not particularly enthusiastic.
"What do you want to play?" Shen Wan asked him.
"Is this what you call a way to pass the time?" 𝑏𝑒𝘥𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝑙.𝘰𝑟𝑔
"Is there a problem?"
Zhou Chi forced a slight smile. "I'm not in the mood."
"Oh, then do as you please." With that, she clicked on the "PUBG" desktop icon.
Zhou Chi pulled at his hair in frustration. "I'm leaving."
"Oh." Shen Wan logged into her account.
"You better return the motorcycle key to me."
Shen Wan ignored him.
After a standoff, the young man eventually sat down next to her, defeated, and turned on his computer. He opened the game, logged into his account, and smoothly started the game, his speed far surpassing Shen Wan's.
The sounds of the keyboard and mouse were the only things to be heard.
A glimpse of the young man's concentrated profile caught Shen Wan's attention. She smiled, and soon her presence faded away.
During this time, the boss brought in two orders of takeout. Seeing both of them engrossed in gaming, he left the food on the coffee table.
Shen Wan played fairly average and quickly got shot in the head by someone.
She wasn't annoyed, put down her mouse, and left her seat to eat.
Around fifteen minutes later, Zhou Chi finished on his side. Of course, he won the game.
His eyebrow arched slightly in a hint of joy, and a smile began to form on his lips. However, for reasons unknown, his countenance soon grew somber, his mood deflating.
Shen Wan called him to eat.
After hesitating for three seconds, Zhou Chi picked up the chopsticks and began to eat, seeming a bit hungry.
After finishing their meal, they continued playing without paying each other much attention. The spacious private room was filled only with the sounds of keyboards clicking and mice tapping.
When the boss came to retrieve the takeout containers, he wore a puzzled expression.
Around four o'clock in the afternoon, Zhou Chi pushed away his keyboard. "I'm done playing!"
When he won every game. Therefore, the value of winning fades, along with the enjoyment of the challenge.
Shen Wan glanced at the screen of his computer, comparing it to her own rather bleak performance. His side was undoubtedly flourishing.
"When are you going to return my key?"
"When I feel like it."
Zhou Chi was speechless.
Zhou Chi had a sense that bad luck had struck him today: first dealing with his ex-girlfriend's betrayal and now being bothered by an eccentric woman.
"Let's go." Shen Wan closed her computer and stood up.
"Where to?" Zhou Chi instinctively followed.
"I'm thirsty."
"And then?"
"I'm treating you."
The two of them arrived at a dessert shop. Shen Wan didn't ask for Zhou Chi's opinion. She waved her hand and ordered two cups of cappuccino and a large serving of mango mille-feuille.
As the items were brought over, the young girl pushed the plate of desserts in front of him. "Help yourself, no need to be polite."
Zhou Chi furrowed his brows. The strange feeling inside him intensified a bit more.
"We never actually met before this, did we?"
"Why, do I look familiar?"
Zhou Chi shook his head.
He was quite sure that he hadn't seen this face before today. Yet she seemed to know a lot about his habits.
Enjoying a good gaming environment, preferring new equipment, and now the cappuccino and mango mille-feuille...
All of this gave him an extremely strange, even eerie feeling.
But he didn't resist it. In fact, there was a feeling of familiarity that he couldn't quite put into words, as if their connection was meant to unfold like this.
Unaware of Zhou Chi's thoughts, Shen Wan took a bite of the mille-feuille and subconsciously wrinkled her nose.
Then, she grabbed a tissue, spat out what was in her mouth, wrapped it up, and tossed it in the trash.
Zhou Chi swallowed his saliva, watching her series of actions with amazement.
"Is it really that bad?" She even spat it out...
