Pokemon: A New Path-Chapter 507: Two Teachers
Chapter 507: Two Teachers
That afternoon, after dropping Iono off in Levincia City, Naoki returned to the ranch and found Kubfu in the newly grown bamboo forest.
"I've found two teachers for you," he said with a smile. "They've agreed to help you train."
Hearing this, Kubfu's eyes widened in surprise.
"Fu?" (Teachers?)
Naoki nodded and gently picked up Kubfu, placing the small bear Pokémon onto his shoulder. "Come with me! I'll take you to meet them."
Though startled at first, Kubfu didn't resist. Instead, curiosity filled its heart as Naoki guided it to a strange and mysterious place.
As they traveled, Kubfu found itself surrounded by a breathtaking world unlike anything it had ever seen.
Islands floated in the sky, drifting peacefully in an endless expanse, while waterfalls cascaded into the clouds.
Naoki noticed Kubfu staring in awe at the floating islands and chuckled, "Impressive, isn't it?"
However, the journey didn't stop there. Soon, they arrived at a lush, vibrant land teeming with life.
Fields of green, dense forests, and Pokémon of all kinds filled the area. The fresh scent of nature surrounded them, carried by a gentle breeze.
Even more surprising, Kubfu noticed something unusual: Pokémon were living in buildings, just like humans!
"Fu?!" (Pokémon live in houses?!)
Excited chatter broke out as a few Pokémon rushed over to greet Naoki.
"Ah! Long time no see, Tatsugiri! How have you been?"
Naoki crouched down, patting their heads before turning to Kubfu.
"I haven't introduced you yet," he said warmly. "This is the World Tree, a sanctuary I created just for Pokémon."
"Over there, you can see the Explorer's Guild, a place where Pokémon live and work together, free from human interference."
"Fu…" Kubfu murmured in wonder.
"Alright, Tatsugiri, don't you have to help at the sushi restaurant?" Naoki teased. "We still have things to do, but we'll drop by later!"
But the Tatsugiri wiggled excitedly.
It explained that Venusaur and the others were watching the restaurant, so today, they planned to go fishing!
Naoki grinned. "That sounds fun. Maybe we'll join you later!"
With that, the group continued on.
The sun hung high as Naoki led Kubfu to a serene beach, where gentle waves lapped against the shore.
Taking out his Rotom Phone, Naoki sent a message.
Moments later, a massive shadow emerged from beneath the crystal-clear waters.
The ocean stirred violently, as something enormous broke through the surface, sending waves splashing into the air.
Amid the glistening water droplets, a colossal Pokémon took shape, its dark blue body stretching across the sea, golden markings glowing with an ancient aura.
It was Kyogre—the Lord of the Ocean.
As soon as Kubfu felt Kyogre's overwhelming presence, it tensed up, its small body stiffening.
The deep, ancient energy radiating from Kyogre made it feel as if it were standing before a force of nature itself, endless and immeasurable.
"Fu" Kubfu gulped, eyes wide in awe.
Naoki gently patted its paw. "Don't be scared," he reassured.
"This is Kyogre, the God of the Sea. One of the strongest Pokémon in the world, and one of the two teachers I found for you."
Naoki smiled encouragingly. "Kyogre has mastered the secrets of water to an extent beyond anything else. You might be able to learn something incredible from it."
Kubfu swallowed its nerves and looked up, meeting Kyogre's piercing golden gaze.
The legendary Pokémon lowered its head, observing the small bear in front of it.
"From today onward, I will be your teacher."
"How much you can learn is up to you."
For Kyogre, this was not just about training a young Pokémon.
It was a gesture of gratitude, a way to thank Naoki for providing a home within the World Tree.
Thus, it was willing to impart its knowledge upon this small but determined student.
Hearing Kyogre's words, Kubfu shuddered slightly before straightening up, nodding seriously.
"Fu!"
Kyogre gave a slight nod in return.
In the next instant, a massive wave surged forward from the sea.
A bright blue light flashed before Kubfu's eyes, and in the blink of an eye, the enormous wave swallowed it whole.
Kubfu squeezed its eyes shut instinctively.
However, after waiting for what felt like an eternity… the impact never came.
"Huh?"
Kubfu cautiously opened its eyes and found itself immersed in an endless blue world.
This is… the ocean?!
For a brief moment, Kubfu panicked, instinctively holding its breath. But then, It suddenly realized something unusual.
It could breathe.
Eyes wide, Kubfu quickly turned, scanning its surroundings in disbelief.
Not far away, Naoki and Kyogre floated calmly in the water.
At this moment, Naoki was just as shocked. He could breathe, too.
"This must be Kyogre's doing…" Naoki murmured, realizing that the legendary Pokémon had blessed them with its power.
Still caught up in the moment, Kubfu was visibly tense.
"Don't be nervous," Naoki encouraged gently. "Try to feel it with your heart."
Hearing this, Kubfu took a deep breath and tried to calm itself.
Seeing this, Kyogre's golden eyes shimmered.
And then, the ocean trembled. A terrifying undercurrent surged violently, forming massive whirlpools around them.
From above, dark storm clouds rolled in. Within moments, a torrential downpour battered the sea's surface.
Then came the waves.
Towering waves, so immense they could engulf mountains, raged across the ocean.
The once-calm waters had become a chaotic force of nature.

Swept up in the storm's fury, Kubfu was tossed into the air, helpless against the roaring tides.
"Fuuuu!"
This was the first time Kubfu had ever encountered such raw, untamed power, and it was overwhelming.
But just as suddenly as the chaos had begun, it ended.
The rain ceased. The waves vanished. The storm disappeared as if it had never existed.
The sea was once again still, crystal blue, and impossibly serene.
Kubfu panted heavily.
Still shaken, it scanned the area, but the ocean's surface was so calm that it felt as if the storm had been an illusion.
Yet, the lingering sensation on its body told another story.
The waves had been real. The storm had been real.
At that moment, Kyogre's deep, resonant voice echoed through the tranquil sea.
"Do you feel it? This… is the ocean."
"At times, it is gentle, calm, and welcoming… but it can also be fierce, raging, and merciless."
"The sea embraces all things, but it can also destroy them."
Kubfu froze.
Kyogre's words lingered in its mind. Slowly, Kubfu closed its eyes.
Floating weightlessly in the azure depths, it began to truly feel the water, not just physically, but spiritually.
Watching this, Kyogre's gaze sharpened.
'Is that Pokemon entering a state of enlightenment already?'
It hadn't expected this small Pokémon to grasp the essence of water so quickly.
Naoki, too, observed with satisfaction. 'Kubfu had great potential.'
For now, Naoki planned to let it continue reflecting on this experience.
Later tonight, when they returned home, he would introduce the two distinct forms of Urshifu—the Single Strike and Rapid Strike styles.
For two full hours, Kubfu sat there, meditating within the vast ocean.
Once Kubfu's training with Kyogre ended, Naoki didn't take it back to the ranch. Instead, he descended deeper into the World Tree, heading toward the volcanic region.
There, surrounded by molten rock and scorching heat, Groudon stood.
The Primordial Pokémon of the Earth rested within a sea of lava, its massive form pulsing with sheer power.
As Naoki and Kubfu arrived, Groudon's golden eyes flickered open. It looked down at them from its fiery throne.
"I sense it on you," Groudon rumbled. "You just came from Kyogre, didn't you?"
Kubfu blinked in confusion. "Fuu?"
"It's fine," Naoki reassured before looking up at Groudon. "Be serious, Groudon!"
Groudon let out a low growl. "Hmph. What did that overgrown fish teach you?"
"Forget his lessons," Groudon scoffed. "Learn from me instead! I will show you true strength!"
Kubfu hesitated. "Huh?"
For some reason, something felt off. It suddenly realized its two legendary teachers didn't seem to get along.
Kubfu's suspicions were completely confirmed by Groudon's next move.
With a powerful stomp, Groudon's massive foot struck the ground. The strange markings across its body pulsed with a molten red glow, resembling flowing magma.
An intense surge of energy erupted from Groudon, channeling deep into the earth.
In the next instant, towering stone swords shot up from the ground, launching toward Kubfu at an alarming speed!
"Fuuuuu!"
Seeing the massive structures hurtling toward it, Kubfu felt an immediate sense of danger.
An ordinary Pokémon might have frozen in fear or turned tail and fled under such overwhelming pressure.
But Kubfu wasn't just any Pokémon.
It was born with an unyielding fighting spirit.
True warriors never retreat from a challenge.
With the massive stone swords closing in fast, Kubfu steadied itself, took a deep breath, and locked onto its target with unwavering focus.
At the last possible moment, it sprang to the side, barely evading the attack.
It escaped!
But just as Kubfu landed, something unexpected happened.
The stone swords—almost as if they had minds of their own—shifted course and continued their pursuit!
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
The sound of earth cracking echoed through the air.
Within seconds, the gigantic Stone Swords had formed a circular enclosure, trapping Kubfu inside.
The scent of burning sulfur thickened in the air. The raw energy coursing through the stone still radiated intense heat, distorting the very space around it.
Standing in the lava, Groudon lifted its head and let out a mighty roar.
Its golden eyes burned with an ancient, commanding presence as it unleashed its full power.
Then, just as suddenly as it had begun, Groudon's energy subsided.
It lowered its head, locking eyes with the tiny Kubfu standing in the arena.
Despite the overwhelming pressure, the little Pokémon had not faltered. It had remained calm. It had dodged.
Groudon's expression softened.
"Not bad," it rumbled, its voice filled with newfound respect.
A deep chuckle reverberated from the legendary Pokémon.
"Well, little one... am I stronger than him?"
Groudon's tone was filled with unmistakable rivalry.
Everything it had just done had one purpose—to prove its superiority over Kyogre.
Naoki: …
Yep. That was classic Groudon.
Kubfu, still catching its breath, blinked in realization. A single bead of sweat rolled down its forehead.
Slowly, it turned to glance at Naoki.
"Fuu?"
Its expression clearly asked, Are these two even capable of getting along?
Naoki sighed and patted Kubfu's head.
"That's their problem," he said with a reassuring smile. "It has nothing to do with us. Just focus on learning their techniques."
Groudon turned toward Naoki as if about to speak. But after a moment of hesitation, it closed its mouth decisively.
Naoki immediately picked up on its hesitation.
"Hmm? What is it, Groudon?"
Groudon flinched slightly and shook its massive head.
Nope. No way it was admitting anything.
If it voiced its true thoughts, this human would definitely kick it out.
And if it left, there was no coming back.
No way.
Groudon secretly glanced at Naoki, then cast a bitter look toward the distant ocean, where Kyogre was no doubt living in luxury atop the World Tree.
That smug, oversized fish was probably basking in the sunlight, happily absorbing natural energy while floating lazily in the waves.
Meanwhile, here Groudon was—sulking alone in a lava pit.
For a brief moment, the volcanic titan seemed to be deep in thought.
"... …"
After a long pause, Groudon made its decision.
It pretended not to hear anything and turned back to Kubfu.
"Come and fight me!" Groudon bellowed.
Kubfu blinked in confusion. "Fu?!"
Defeat Groudon? Was that even possible?
Groudon let out a deep chuckle. "What, are you scared?"
Hearing this, Kubfu immediately shook its head. A determined glint flickered in its eyes.
"Fu!"
"Good."
