The lavender-haired girl’s pupils flickered with confusion. Since when have challengers become this strong?

Her Altaria… lost the battle without even putting up a fight. This was the most powerless and despairing battle she had ever experienced.

She recalled a Pokémon holding blue and red flowers in its hands. Thinking back on the battle just now, Winona fell silent. She had never seen such a powerful Roserade before.

This Roserade fought like a dancer—its graceful movements constantly exuding a killing intent. Various deadly toxins were mixed within its flowers. Like a masked dancer wielding a whip, it completely shattered her Altaria’s pride!

“Although this may be a bit rude, do you have a teacher or any relatives who own an Altaria?” the black-haired, black-eyed young man asked.

“What do you want to do?” Winona asked nervously.

“Don’t misunderstand, we don’t have any bad intentions… But if your strength is acknowledged by us, it might be beneficial to you as well.” The young man rubbed his chin, seemingly unsure of how to explain.

The matter was too complicated to explain in a short time.

Moreover, facing strangers whose background was unclear, they couldn’t just reveal everything.

“You just said Fortree Gym is weak, right? My teacher happens to be in the Gym, and her ace is also an Altaria.”

“I will go ask teacher. If you’re willing to wait, then wait.” Winona turned around and walked away.

But if even Fujiki’s Roserade was too much for them to handle, then looking for such Trainers was likely meaningless.

After a while…

A mature woman with wavy blue hair walked over with Winona. Seeing her, Fujiki and his companion finally showed a bit more interest.

“I am Hana, the former Gym Leader of Fortree Gym. Are you the travelers who wish to challenge Altaria?”

A calm voice rang out. The black-eyed man smiled slightly and said, “Beautiful lady… It’s a pleasure to meet you. My name is Albus.”

“We are Trainers from the Almia region.”

“Very well, I accept your challenge.” Hana hesitated for a moment before replying.

“Great! Fujiki, are you battling, or should I?” Albus turned to Fujiki beside him.

“I’ll do it.” Fujiki took out a Poké Ball and said, “I hope you won’t disappoint me.”

Both Gym Trainers of Fortree Gym had already been challenged by Terrance. If he were here, he would surely sigh, as his reason for coming to Fortree Gym was also to battle Ms. Hana’s Altaria, hoping to gain some insight from its technique of using sound waves to generate Earthquake.

Altaria’s strength was actually enough to contend with Ninetales, making Fujiki regard her opponent with a bit more respect. But—

Although their strength appeared evenly matched, and the fight remained fiercely contested, as the battle entered the climax, Ninetales suddenly erupted with a surge of powerful psychic energy.

Combining it with its flames, it suppressed Altaria’s movements, mercilessly defeating it in an instant!

The sudden burst of power was as fluid as flowing water—swift, decisive, and leaving no room for Hana to react. Both Hana and Winona were left stunned.

Although the Fortree Gym isn’t known for its strength among the Gyms…

“Ms. Hana, my apologies~” Albus said helplessly, a hint of regret in his voice. “It seems we won’t be able to explain everything in detail.”

At this level of strength, even if Altaria were given the Mega Stone and Mega Ring they had brought, and it underwent Mega Evolution, it would still be far from satisfactory.

Under a full-force attack from his Lucario, it wouldn’t even last two rounds.
