Terrance successfully booked today's S.S. Ticket bound for the Sinnoh region. Fujiki and Albus had come early in the morning to see him off.
"Anyway, I wish you both the best of luck."
Before leaving, Terrance offered his final words of encouragement. Darkrai's condition was a complex and difficult case, but with a bit of luck and the skills of Albus and Fujiki, they should be able to resolve it quickly. At the same time, Terrance also promised to keep an eye out for any relevant information that might help them.
"Don't worry, and I wish you a smooth journey as well, Mr. Gym Leader." Albus smiled.
"If I have enough time, I'll visit Fallarbor Gym and let my Lucario have another battle with your Mega Altaria."
"Oh?" Terrance revealed a sly smile. "Then you'd better hurry, my progress is quite fast."
"By then, it won't be such an evenly matched fight anymore."
"I'm really looking forward to that." Albus scratched his head before finally saying seriously, "In that case, let's meet again if fate allows."
"Let's meet again if fate allows," Fujiki echoed from the side. "And thank you for the books."
She was referring to the collection of books Terrance had allowed them to read at Fallarbor Gym. Some of them contained highly specialized knowledge, along with Terrance's insights and key highlights, making them extremely valuable.
"Goodbye, then," Terrance said. The ship was about to depart, so after bidding farewell to the two, he stepped aboard.
Albus and Fujiki did not leave immediately. Instead, they stayed until the ship disappeared from sight, shrinking into a tiny black dot on the horizon, before finally preparing to leave.
"Honestly, I really envy that guy," Albus sighed. "Top Coordinator, Breeder, and now a Gym Leader... and he's younger than me. His future is truly limitless."
"If you had the time, you could do even better," Fujiki said calmly.
"There's no such thing as 'if'..." Albus rolled his eyes and shook his head, silently thinking to himself that his mindset was actually quite good.
"Forget it, no point overthinking. For now, let's head to Summerland to find that famous Pokémon doctor...." Albus said slowly.
The reason Albus and Fujiki remained in the Fiore region was that they had learned of a highly renowned Pokémon doctor here. At this point, Albus couldn't afford to pass up any opportunity to treat Darkrai.
"Then let's go," Fujiki said.
"Let's go~" Albus took one last look in the direction where the ship had disappeared. Ever since leaving Nightmare Island, this was the first time he had met a like-minded peer. Saying goodbye to Terrance left him with a slight feeling of loss. "If luck is on our side, we'll meet again."
...
...
A few days later, Sinnoh Region.
Terrance arrived in Sunyshore City and made a quick stop to restock supplies.
"Next, I need to continue dealing with Gym-related matters... and start researching totem aura."
He let out a small sigh. Sometimes, packing the schedule too tightly wasn't necessarily a good thing.
Although he was making full use of his time, Terrance often felt like his nerves were stretched too thin.
"I planned to focus on researching totem aura, but I keep getting distracted by Gym affairs. And when I wanted to handle the Gym matters properly, I suddenly got interrupted by the Team Nightmare incident..." Terrance rubbed his forehead. Not being able to concentrate on one thing, he was worried that if all of this didn't go smoothly... he would probably become very irritated.
"The Gym situation isn't completely settled yet. Even though I've passed the initial assessment, long-term management remains a major issue... For instance... the Bug-type Pokémon Egg problem!"
"For now, Fallarbor Gym doesn't need to worry about it, but if challengers start coming in droves one day, it will become a troublesome issue."
"Making preparations in advance and laying the groundwork properly is the only way to move on to the next task with peace of mind."
Bug Type Pokémon Egg... To have a steady source, and to ensure the egg species aren't of poor quality, poses quite a challenge. Terrance had considered collaborating with some conglomerates or corporate organizations, such as Crown Academy. However, recently, Terrance came up with a new idea.
But he wasn't entirely confident in it yet, so he could only take things one step at a time.
"I'll think about all this once I return to Hoenn. As for when I'll head back..."
Terrance pondered for a moment. He wasn't planning to leave immediately. Instead, he intended to give himself a few days off—some rare time to rest.
"Mismagius is staying on Nightmare Island for now. I wonder if it's adjusting well... But since there aren't any Pokémon on that island capable of threatening it, I don't need to worry too much."
"If anything, it'll be the native Pokémon's misfortune if they happen to provoke it."
Terrance smiled slightly. He had left Mismagius with plenty of tasks, confident that it would be able to make good use of the local environment to grow.
"That place is an even rarer treasure trove than the 'haunted house.' How far you can develop depends entirely on your own luck, Mismagius..."
"Uh... Speaking of the haunted house, maybe I should visit Crown Academy." A thought suddenly occurred to Terrance. It had been a while since he left Crown Academy. When his Gym first opened, he had received many gifts, a large portion of which came from his teachers and seniors. Now that he has some free time, he should pay them a visit in person.
"Alright then, my first stop in Sinnoh will be Crown Academy!" Terrance decided.
From Sunyshore City, Terrance made his way toward Snowpoint City.
If any Trainers were to arrive in Snowpoint City at this time, they would clearly see that the area was experiencing heavy snowfall—the peak of the year's snowstorm season.
Terrance, however, remained completely unfazed. He was already familiar with the region's environment, so there was no way he would travel to Mt. Coronet in light clothing. After spending two years at the academy, if he still didn't understand this place's environment...
He might as well find a Ditto and bash his head against it.
As he drew closer to Snowpoint City, Terrance maintained his meditative state, keeping his mind clear. Watching the familiar scenery along the way, memories of the past gradually surfaced.
"Meditation is said to enhance memory... I didn't expect it would help me recall such fine details from past experiences." Terrance wasn't sure if it was due to his meditation method or simply because the scenery was stirring old memories, but as he walked, he found himself deeply moved. He recalled the moment when he had just left Hoenn and arrived at Crown Academy to pursue his studies.
Back then, his final stop before entering the academy had been Snowpoint City.
"So cold~~~ I can't take it anymore... Ah... ah... ah... ACHOO!"
As he walked, Terrance suddenly heard a voice complaining. This was a small path leading to Snowpoint City, which was now not far away.
As Terrance made his way through the thicket of trees, he spotted two boys and a girl.
The one who was complaining, a boy with a runny nose, soon had his grumbling cut short by a sudden sneeze.
