Pokemon: Radical Redux-Chapter 347: Rage take down
Chapter 347 - Rage take down
Here is your 900 stone, extra Chapter, this one was a long one, almost the size of 2 Chapters
------
Silver cracked his neck and turned toward the chained Gyarados, its blood-red eyes locked onto him with pure rage. Gyarados' roar shook the chamber, and even the grunts behind Tyson flinched.
"Magneton, cover me!" Silver shouted, charging headfirst into the chaos.
Gyarados snapped at the air, its chains rattling as it charged a blast in its mouth and aimed it at Silver. Silver ducked a stray [Hyper Beam] that smashed into the wall behind him, knocking a few grunts down.
He looked back, seeing all the grunts rushing at him as he pointed toward the chains, "[Flash Cannon]! Break those restraints!"
Magneton hovered into place and fired, sparks exploding as one of the metal links burst. The Gyarados howled, twisting harder, yanking against the others, breaking itself free, and roaring at everyone, both Silver and all the grunts.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the room, Tyson raised a hand, "Get the red-haired kid!" he barked, then ran after Ash with a few other grunts.
Grunts surged toward Ash like a wave, but Ash didn't back down. He was already moving.
"Pikachu, let's go! [Iron Tail]!"
Pikachu spun into the air and slammed its tail into the first grunt's Pokémon, sending a Raticate flying into two others. Ash ducked under a thrown Poké Ball, vaulting over a crate to get closer to the Electrode.
"Alright then, Pikachu, take them down! [Electro Ball]!" Ash commanded.
Pikachu leapt up and spun around, shooting a ball of electricity into the ground. It blew up a cloud of dust and knocked some grunts back. Before they could react, Ash waved his arm through the smoke.
"Now, [Electroweb]!" Ash said, pushing through the smoke as Pikachu jumped up.
He spun, and a web formed on his tail as he threw it out, falling over all the grunts and tying them up. Electricity coursed through them as they yelled in pain.
Tyson, outside of the web, ran up.
"End of the line, kid!" he said, throwing out two Poké Balls. From them came two Fearow that shrieked and locked eyes on Ash and Pikachu.
Ash wasn't worried. He waved his arm, "Pikachu, let's take this guy down."
Pikachu nodded, sparks crackling from his cheeks as he got ready.
—-
Smoke choked the air as the final few grunts collapsed under the force of Dragonite's relentless barrage. Poké Balls scattered across the floor—most of them cracked or rolling idly, their contents already defeated.
Lance stood tall in the center of the chaos, his cape torn and singed at the edges. His eyes narrowed, breathing steady. Dragonite hovered behind him, wings flared, still glowing faintly from the aftershock of its last [Hyper Beam].
Across the room, Petrel staggered back, clutching his arm where a stray [Dragon Claw] had grazed him. His smirk was gone. Sweat beaded on his forehead, and his breathing was ragged.
"You know," Petrel hissed, trying to keep his voice calm, "for a Champion, you're not very subtle."
"I wasn't trying to be," Lance replied coldly. "You endangered an entire ecosystem, tortured Pokémon, and now you're going to answer for it."
Petrel let out a strained laugh, trying to recover his bravado, "Big words... but let's see if you still feel brave after this—"
He flung out a Poké Ball, "Go, Weezing!"
The floating, twin-headed Poison-type emerged in a cloud of smog, shooting out a thick [Poison Gas] that blanketed the area in a hard-to-see, purple fog. Lance narrowed his eyes, pulling his cape over his mouth as a mask.
He pointed forward, "Dragonite, [Hurricane]!"
Dragonite roared and flapped its wings, kicking up a strong wind that formed into a swirling vortex. It blew away both the toxic smoke and Weezing, knocking the Poison-type down in one hit.
Petrel was also sent flying back into a wall, but this time he got his smile back, "Hehe not bad, but that wasn't what I was talking about when I asked if you felt brave," he said.
Lance narrowed his eyes, but just before he could ask what he meant, a Shadow Ball came in from the side, hitting Dragonite and actually dealing damage.
From the floor rose a Banette that laughed as it looked at them, mimicking Petrel's smile. Petrel looked at Lance, "You're not the only one that got stronger."
He rolled up his sleeve, revealing a Keystone on his wrist. Banette had a purple stone on its zipper, making Lance's eyes widen.
Petrel pressed the stone, and it began to shine, "Let's play longer, Mega Evolve!"
Banette was covered in bright light as its zippers opened and new ones formed, growing until it stood there as Mega Banette.
Lance narrowed his eyes, his hand instinctively going to his pocket where he kept two stones: a Keystone and an orange Mega Stone. He looked at them, but Dragonite growled, shaking his head.
Lance saw Dragonite's signal and nodded, "You're right, we don't need it. I won't give him the satisfaction." He put the stones back in his pocket, "Dragonite, let's do this!"
Petrel pointed, "Banette, let's play!"
—
The roar of the red Gyarados shook the walls like an earthquake. It whipped around with a maddened glare, its jaw charging another [Hyper Beam].
Silver saw it coming and tried to save himself and Magneton.
"Magneton, [Light Screen]!" he shouted.
The shimmer of energy rippled in front of them just as Gyarados fired. The Hyper Beam struck the barrier, but it was too strong, the beam shattered the screen and blasted Magneton, sending it flying.
Then the red Gyarados whipped its tail violently, flinging a pair of grunts into the wall like ragdolls. Sparks flew from overhead lights as metal creaked and groaned under the weight, starting to break as Gyarados kept thrashing.
Silver grit his teeth as another grunt tried to grab him, but was knocked away by Gyarados's wild movements.
Silver pointed forward, "Magneton, [Thunderbolt]!" he commanded, grabbing a Poké Ball.
Magneton floated up and gathered electricity between its three heads, then unleashed the burst just as Silver threw the Poké Ball directly after.
The bolt of electricity struck Gyarados, but it didn't even flinch. It saw the Poké Ball and bit it in its jaws, crushing it, it was quite literally too angry to go down.
The attack only enraged Gyarados further. It roared and fired more blasts at the grunts and the walls.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Ash ducked a twin dive from two Fearow, as Pikachu used the moment to run up Ash's back and flip midair, landing on one. He used some of his webs like a saddle, wrapping it around the bird's neck and pulling it up to crash into the other.
Tyson saw this and started to give a command, but Ash didn't let him. He ran up and rammed his elbow into Tyson's gut, knocking the air from his lungs and making him fall to his knees.
"Stay down!" Ash yelled, stomping on his head and crashing it against a control panel, breaking it and knocking him out, "Pikachu, now!"
Pikachu jumped off one Fearow, using the web like a rope, swinging under and around before landing back on top. He pulled on the web, tying them together, then finished with a [Thunder Punch] to its back, sending it crashing to the ground with spirals in their eyes.
Ash looked up to see Professor Sebastian trying to crawl away, but Ash cut him off, grabbing him by the shirt and slamming him against the wall with a glare, "How do you turn off this machine?"
Professor Sebastian coughed but looked at him with a maniacal smile.
"It's too late! Once it starts, there's no way to stop it, not as long as there's still power! It's too late!"
Ash's grip tightened on Sebastian's collar, raising an eyebrow, "Power, huh? Well, why don't I just cut off the power?"
Sebastian's eyes widened, but he still smirked, "Ha! As if. The glass to the generator is reinforced, you'll never break through!"
Ash raised an eyebrow and grabbed two Poké Balls from his belt. From behind, he could see Silver still fighting Gyarados, and got an idea. He threw the balls, and out came Quilava and Crocalor.
Ash's grip tightened on Sebastian's shirt, "You know, for a professor, you're kinda stupid. Let me take you to school about thermal stress~"
Ash pointed at the pane of glass separating the control room from Silver, "Quilava! Crocalor! Hit it with everything you've got [Flamethrower]!"
Quilava's flames erupted from his back as he shot a stream of fire. Crocalor laughed happily, jumping as he blasted fire alongside his teammate. The two streams of heat collided with the reinforced glass, and it began to visibly turn red.
Professor Sebastian thrashed in Ash's grip, eyes wide with disbelief, "You idiot! You'll make the electric field explode outward!"
"That's the idea," Ash muttered, glancing toward Silver and Magneton.
He let out a sharp whistle, "Hey Silver, enjoy the amplifier! Pikachu, Iron Tail!"
Silver turned just in time to see Pikachu flying at the red-hot glass. Now, reinforced glass is nearly unbreakable under normal conditions — but under thermal stress at around 400–500°F, it begins to degrade. A [Flamethrower], however, can reach temperatures between 2,000 to 3,000°F, well above that.
With one powerful bash of Pikachu's tail, the glass shattered.
The energy from the generator surged out into the room, creating an artificial magnetic field that blasted in all directions.
Silver's eyes widened in realization.
"Magneton!"
Magneton flew in front of him and took the brunt of the electromagnetic burst. As it absorbed the waves, its body began to glow. The central head expanded, taking on a sleek UFO shape, and floating in the air now was Magnezone.
Gyarados noticed. The rampaging Pokémon, moments from finishing off the last grunts, paused and locked eyes with Magnezone. Its furious expression twisted into one of recognition, and challenge.
Silver's eyes gleamed, "Let's see if you can handle this now [Zap Cannon]!"
Magnezone's core began to hum, glowing brighter as sparks spiraled around it. The air thickened under the magnetic pressure before the attack launched, a glowing yellow-white orb surged forward like a bullet.
Gyarados tried to counter with a [Hydro Pump], but as the two attacks collided, [Zap Cannon] began to push through. It detonated the water beam, smashing directly into Gyarados's jaw with a thundering explosion.
Gyarados roared in pain, its head crashing against the wall.
Silver didn't hesitate. He grabbed a Poké Ball and threw it.
It hit.
One roll.
Two.
Three.
Ding.
Gyarados was caught.
Silver stood there, panting from the intensity of the battle, sweat dripping from his brow. Around him, the remaining Team Rocket grunts were either unconscious or running for their lives. Across the chamber, his eyes locked with Ash's.
Ash still had Professor Sebastian in his grip. The scientist thrashed, "You! You can't do this! All my work, I won't let you destroy it!"
Ash rolled his eyes and headbutted him, cracking his nose, "I'll do what I want. And what I want is for you to watch."
He glanced at Pikachu. "[Iron Tail]."
Pikachu flipped up and slammed his tail into the main console connected to the generator. Sparks flew, and the restraints holding the Electrode fell off.
One by one, the Electrode began waking up, groggy at first. Then, recognizing their freedom, they jumped off the generator. Pikachu's broken glass hole served as their escape path into the control room.
Ash slammed Sebastian into the wall one last time, letting him drop to the floor.
He looked at the Electrode and squinted, "You're free now. Get outta here. But if you want to stay and take care of something... I won't stop you."
The Electrode looked at Ash and Silver, then at the scientists and grunts in black. The message was clear, Ash and Silver helped them. The black-uniformed ones hurt them.
They weren't leaving without paying back that debt.
Ash walked over to Silver, returning Quilava and Crocalor to their Poké Balls. As they turned to leave the room, Ash looked back one last time.
"Just because I won't kill you... doesn't mean I have to save you."
He and Silver pulled the metal door shut behind them. As they walked away, the corridor echoed with the sound of buzzing electricity and the screams of Team Rocket.
"Well... that was dramatic," Ash muttered, brushing dust off his jacket as they walked.
Silver gave him a sideways glance, still catching his breath. "You vaporized a generator and turned the basement into a lightning storm."
"You released a berserker Gyarados into a room full of grunts and caught that war criminal. Besides, they'll probably survive," Ash said that last part with a shrug.
"...Touché."
Once they caught their breath, Ash and Silver started running to get back to Lance, but as they ran, Ash saw something with his Aura, two small Auras that weren't human, and they radiated fear.
Ash stopped, making Silver stop as well, as he walked up to a metal door. It was locked, so Ash just poured Aura into his leg and kicked it off its hinges.
Inside, they saw two more scientists trying to pack up their work, and there were two chambers. In one, there was an egg connected to wires, and in the other, there was a single brown Pokémon, a little Eevee.
Ash and Silver didn't even need to look at each other. They ran in and punched the scientists, knocking them out, as Ash gave Silver a gesture with his eyes toward the egg.
Silver nodded and walked over to the egg, grabbing a rock that had fallen from the ceiling during the battle and starting to hit the glass, breaking it, and grabbing the egg inside.
Ash, meanwhile, went to the Eevee. He covered his fist with Aura and punched the glass, breaking it, then grabbed the surprised Eevee.
"Easy now," Ash said softly, his voice lowering instinctively. "You're safe now."
But Eevee's pupils narrowed, its ears flattened, and without warning, it twisted in Ash's grasp with surprising speed, biting at his arm. Ash noticed, but it didn't hurt, Eevee was too tired and weak.
"Whoa—hey, calm down," he said, as Eevee dropped to the floor with a tiny thud, its fur puffed and tail whipping side to side. It let out another snarl, crouching low like it was ready to pounce.
But then, in front of their eyes, Eevee began glowing. It grew, and its fur turned spiky. As the light faded, before their eyes stood a yellow, spiky Pokémon: Jolteon.
"That's... not normal," Silver said, eyes narrowing. "What did they do to this thing?"
"No idea, but it's not its fault," Ash replied, his eyes narrowing.
Jolteon tried to send a shock at Ash, but it was too weak, and transforming had tired it out. Ash leaned down, about to touch its head, but then again, it began to glow. Its spikes lowered, and it grew fins, becoming Vaporeon.
As soon as it did, Vaporeon turned into water, dodging Ash's hand and slithering behind him, breathing heavily.
Seeing it transform made Ash narrow his eyes, because that confirmed what he thought, this was Vee, Red's Eevee from the manga. But it looked like here, Red never found Vee. In the manga, Vee could transform freely into the three original Eeveelutions, and it hurt him.
Ash coated his hand in Aura to try to soothe it, but then something happened that made Ash genuinely shocked: Vee began to glow again. Its gills went down, and it grew an extra tail with a gem on its head, changing into Espeon.
Vee could never do that. After he evolved into Espeon in the manga, he lost the ability to transform back, which meant they had upgraded Eevee even more.
Not to mention, every time Vee transformed, they could see Vee's eye twitch from the pain.
Vee's eyes started glowing as Ash felt some psychic energy surrounding him. Pikachu and Silver were about to act, but Ash held his hand out to stop them. "Don't. It's not his fault."
Ash walked through the energy, breaking it. Vee nearly fell over as he dropped back to his base form. He looked up at Ash weakly, still wanting to fight, but he was too tired. As he saw Ash's hand come closer, he closed his eyes.
But then he felt Ash pat him, and a warm feeling surrounded his body. It was something — something he had almost forgotten how it felt. Ash was using Aura to help calm him down.
"It's okay. We're not with them. You're safe. I'll protect you from now on, okay?"
Vee was scared, but he couldn't stop himself as he closed his eyes, falling asleep. Ash picked him up and held him close to his chest, "He's really weak. I'll get him to a Pokémon Center when I get back to town," Ash said.
Silver nodded as he still held the Egg, "Alright, now come on, let's get out of here. I'm already sick of this place."
"Agreed," Ash replied as Pikachu jumped onto his shoulder, and they started running again.
When they got back to the place they had left Lance, they saw him standing over Petrel, with his Banette back in its base form, as Lance placed handcuffs on Petrel's wrists, "Team Rocket Executive Petrel, you are under arrest. It's over," Lance declared, as Dragonite's wings were a bit singed, but it stood strong.
Petrel had a scowl on his face, which slowly twisted into a smirk, "Dumbass, you fell for the oldest trick in the book again."
As Lance's eyes widened, Petrel began turning purple and almost started melting, it was the Ditto trick again. From inside his "head," a radio fell out, which Petrel had used to talk, while Ditto just lip-synced. Even the 'Key Stone' Petrel used wasn't real, the real one was probably still with Petrel, who had escaped from a distance.
The radio kept speaking, "Idiot, I was gone after I let my Weezing out. I wasn't fighting to beat you; this was all to distract you so the grunts could escape."
As this happened, Banette's frown turned into a smirk as it phased through the ground, also disappearing. Petrel's mocking words continued, "Maybe third time's the charm. I already outsmarted you twice! How does it feel to be outsmarted by someone you called stupid? What does that make you? Hahaha!"
Lance gritted his teeth in anger and stomped on the radio, cutting off the audio, "Next time, I'm bringing you in, by any means necessary."
As Lance took a breath to cool down, he finally noticed Ash and Silver looking at him, making him chuckle nervously, "H-hey... how much of that did you see?"
"You mean before or after you got outsmarted by that ugly guy?" Silver asked.
"Right... that answers my question..." Lance replied helplessly. He glanced at the Eevee and Egg they now had but didn't say anything, there were more important matters to discuss.
"We took out the generator and solved the Gyarados problem. Don't worry about letting these ones get away. We knocked out the grunts and the head scientist. You can pick them up," Ash reported.
Lance nodded, "Alright, good to hear. At least it's something. I'll call the League and have them collect them. I'll also send their bounties to your accounts, and a reward for helping me stop those weird sound waves."
But Ash took a breath, "But that's not all. The reason we came here is because some other members of Team Rocket attacked Olivine City and destroyed a lot of buildings."
Lance froze, narrowing his eyes and clenching his fists, "How much damage? And are there any casualties?"
"Too much," Ash answered. "And as far as I know, no casualties yet, but there are a lot of injuries. The doctors are working overtime. Even the Gym Leader was injured."
"Say no more," Lance replied, clenching his fists. "I'll send funding and support the second I get back to the League."
Just as Lance was about to turn, Silver stepped in front of him, holding the Egg tightly, "Now that we took care of everything here, there's something I need to say to you, Lance."
Lance raised an eyebrow but nodded as Silver took a deep breath, "I'm not sure if the path I'm taking is the right one, but I've learned a few things along the way, like I can't always do everything on my own. First, I want to thank you. As much as I don't want to admit it, we couldn't have won if you weren't here."
Then he looked up at Lance as the Egg shook in his arms, "But just because we worked together doesn't mean I'm going to give up on my dream. And just you wait, I promise I will make my dream a reality."
Silver pointed at Lance and Dragonite, "...I'm going to surpass you!"
As he said the final word, the Egg shook with agreement and began to glow and crack. When the light faded, from the Egg emerged a little Larvitar, but this one had a slightly darker green. This Larvitar was a Shiny.
Everyone looked at it as Larvitar looked up at Silver and chirped happily, seeing that Silver was holding him. He immediately imprinted on him, hugging him back.
Lance looked at him, then just laughed as he patted Silver on the head. "Alright then, I look forward to it. Don't keep me waiting too long. Being strong is pretty lonely, but for now, I think you should focus on that little guy you've got right there."
Silver pulled his head out of Lance's hand and looked down at Larvitar. He reached into his bag, pulled out an empty Pokéball, and pressed it to Larvitar's nose. Larvitar went inside, and the ball closed immediately.
Ash smiled as he still held Vee. "Well, alright, I'll head back first. I need to get this Eevee to a Pokémon Center. Silver, I guess you won't be around Olivine since the Gym Leader is out of commission." As he said that, Abby finally appeared next to him.
Silver just nodded. "I'll find something else. Good luck with... well, everything going on there."
"And just like I said, I'll send support as soon as I can. You should rest; you look exhausted," Lance said, crossing his arms.
Ash looked back as he put a hand on Abby's shoulder, and he said with full seriousness, "I can rest when I've done all I can." Then he teleported out.
—
Back in Olivine, everyone was a bit on edge. With everything that had happened, they couldn't bring themselves to relax. Not only were people still going around trying to fix the mess that was made, and people were still being rushed in and out of the hospital, but Ash still wasn't back.
No one really talked. Roy and Friede tried to break the ice and get everyone to go eat, but no one was hungry. It was midday, it was almost hard to believe that everything that had happened took place in the last three hours. So much in such a short amount of time.
Then, out of nowhere, Ash just spawned in, standing in the center of them holding an Eevee, as everyone froze, looking at him.
Ash slowly raised a hand. "Hey guys."
And immediately, everyone jumped on him.
