Possessed No More: The True Star Returns to Claim Her Throne-Chapter 95: Landing
Joanna’s expression changed instantly. "No matter how clueless Riley Perry was before, she never publicly humiliated someone like that. For her to disrespect that guy Ford on camera, he must have done something despicable."
Thomas Lynch’s arm wrapped around her from behind. It looked like an embrace, but his hand had already landed on Joanna’s "assets." "These are minor issues. With Stardust backing her, offending one Miles Ford is no big deal."
"But aren’t they on the same variety show? What if Miles Ford impulsively gets physical? Won’t your artist be the one to suffer?"
Joanna rolled her eyes. "What do you mean, ’my artist’? She’s a Stardust artist, *your* artist. As the CEO, you’re the one who should be backing her up!"
Thomas Lynch was speechless. ’I mean, seriously,’ he thought, ’if I’d just said ’my artist,’ wouldn’t your ’Corkscrew Torture Pinch’ have made a comeback?’
He seriously suspected that the roll of fat around his waist was entirely her doing—pinched into existence.
Yep, not all domineering CEOs have eight-pack abs. He was the exception: a one-pack.
"By the way, since my Riley Perry is so skilled, shouldn’t you consider getting her a better script?"
The words went in one of Thomas Lynch’s ears and out the other, though his hands were quite earnest in their task. "What’s the rush? She originally got into Kingsbridge University as a provincial top scholar. I’ve always felt her performance over the past three years hasn’t quite matched her high intelligence."
"Let’s wait and see. We’ll observe the online reaction, and then it won’t be too late to plan her future career path."
Honestly, if it weren’t for that, plus the fact that she had an agent like Joanna, Riley Perry would have been dropped long ago.
Lacking professional skills, with even worse emotional intelligence, and hiding her true appearance—someone like that is very difficult to make famous.
Joanna conceded the point. ’He’s right. It’s only five days. I can wait.’
"Well, then at least have the PR department start boosting the video of Riley rescuing Victoria Koenig from the tree. Who knows, maybe some director will see our Riley’s heroic display and send a good script our way."
Thomas Lynch obediently sent a message to the PR department. Then he picked up his files again, occupying a tiny corner of the desk and trying his best not to block the woman’s view as he continued to work. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
His secretary came in to report on work, then quickly left. She had been very tempted to offer a reminder, ’Mr. Lynch, do we really have to be this subservient? You could at least work at the coffee table and give the entire desk to Agent Joyce, you know?’

The other two teams had also landed by now. The first thing Roxanne Fulton said after unbuckling her parachute with Silas King’s help was a word of thanks: "It’s a good thing Riley told me to change clothes first, or I would have been so embarrassed today."
Parachuting from that height in a skirt... she knew how awkward the sight would have been, even if she was wearing safety shorts underneath.
At her words, Silas King nodded in agreement. Although men’s clothing was a bit more practical, changing in the wild was still awkward. It would be bad if a drone happened to film it.
"Let’s go. If we move quickly, we might run into Victoria Koenig and his partner. We can look out for each other."
Neither of them was short on money, so they truly didn’t care about the prize. The production team had also just announced that food could only be obtained with exchange cards. This meant that being in a larger group would be more convenient, especially for people like them with next to no wilderness survival skills.
...
The atmosphere in Livestream Channel 1, however, was not nearly as pleasant. After landing, Miles Ford fell directly into a deep pit.
Ethan Shaw had to search for a while before finding Miles Ford in the pit. He used the parachute cords to pull him up.
Once Miles was out, Ethan Shaw noticed he was limping.
It turned out that when he fell into the pit, Miles Ford had lost his footing and twisted his ankle.
Miles Ford was very experienced with live variety shows. He knew you had to create your own topics to attract an audience.
So, after glancing at the drone, he began a monologue. "My luck isn’t great, I’ve twisted my ankle. This will be a real disadvantage for the rest of my journey. Fortunately, the injury isn’t too serious. After I rub it out and rest a bit, I should be able to move normally. For a stuntman, this kind of injury is the most insignificant thing."
After saying his piece, he even cued Ethan Shaw. "Irving, don’t worry. It’s just a minor injury. I won’t hold you back. Years ago, I broke two ribs and was back to filming after just three days of recovery. This is nothing."
Ethan Shaw was speechless. ’I suddenly feel like I’m completely screwed,’ he thought.
He was certain that if he showed even a hint of impatience, the livestream audience, especially Miles Ford’s fans, would attack him for not being supportive and for acting as if his teammate was a burden.
He was finally seeing a male ’green tea’ in action!
At that moment, the guests’ luggage was delivered, along with their assistants and personal camera operators. Victoria Koenig alone had three suitcases and a backpack, whereas Riley Perry only had one suitcase and a very large backpack.
Rocco wore a mask and a baseball cap, keeping himself well-hidden. After delivering the items, he stood to the side without a word.
Riley Perry didn’t even bother to choose. She picked up her backpack, slung it over her shoulder, and handed the suitcase back to Rocco. "Alright, you can take the rest back."
"Okay, Ria. Good luck, Ria."
Riley Perry just smiled and said nothing more.
Victoria Koenig also sped up his packing. His assistant, a young woman in her twenties, helped him sort through his luggage while advising him, "Vick, you should do the same as Riley. Just take one backpack. Pack a couple of extra sets of clothes and leave the rest. Too much luggage will be inconvenient."
Victoria Koenig took the advice and quickly finished packing. The assistant and other staff members then left with the remaining items.
"Let’s go. It’s already noon. We should find something to eat first."
Victoria Koenig asked, "But what is there to eat around here?"
Riley Perry replied, "We’ll head straight north and look for cards along the way."
"Which way is north?"
Victoria Koenig wasn’t usually bad with directions, but after flying for so long and then spinning in the air, he had completely lost his bearings. He had no idea which way was north, south, east, or west.
Riley Perry turned and started walking. "This way," she said as she went. "According to the map’s markers, there should be a card somewhere around here."
"How do you know?"
"My sense of direction is decent, and I can also figure it out by looking at the surroundings. Of course, there’s also a much simpler way."
"What way is that?"
Riley Perry reached into her backpack and quickly pulled something out. A compass.
"This."
Victoria Koenig took the compass and let out a "Wow!" "Ria, you’re so prepared! Not like me. Everything I packed besides clothes was confiscated by the director."
’Uh, so you didn’t pack anything besides food and clothes, did you?’
’This kid is a real foodie.’
It was now high noon, and Riley Perry was getting genuinely hungry. She couldn’t help but pick up her pace. The map the production team provided was as perfunctory as it could be, with dots indicating only a general location, but that wasn’t a problem for Riley.
In order to find food sooner, Riley Perry directly unleashed her Divine Sense.
