Pregnant During An Apocalypse [BL]-Chapter 306 - 307 - The Interrogation
The first thing he noticed when consciousness returned was the damp musty smell of wood and dust. Slowly, his eyes adjusted to the dim light. His head throbbed, and when he tried to move, he realized he couldn’t. He blinked up, and his vision cleared—
The cracked, warped wooden beams of an aged ceiling stared back at him.
But what truly froze his blood was the pair of boots planted right by his face, blocking most of his view.
His breath hitched. Trembling, he tilted his head slightly—and locked eyes with them. Those glowing blue-green eyes. Not human. They shimmered faintly, like cold fire, unblinking, drilling into him.
A violent shudder ran down his entire body. He couldn’t stop it. He didn’t even realize his lips were muttering "monster, monster..." until his teeth bit down on his tongue.
Yunfeng crouched slowly, his presence suffocating. Without a word, he grabbed the man by his collar and dragged him upright as if he weighed nothing. The spy landed in a seated position with a thud.
He struggled immediately, but—
"Don’t waste energy," a calm, almost amused voice cut in.
The spy twisted his head. A man with slightly crooked glasses adjusted them smugly, smirking. "I tied you up myself. That’s a Grade A burrito wrap. Not even your grandma’s kitchen twine could beat it." Qui Yue looked proud as if he’d just won a science fair.
The spy looked down and saw his body mummified in layers of rope and cloth. Not even his fingers could twitch. He thrashed once more, panic rising in his chest, but it was pointless.
Yunfeng stepped into his line of sight again, blotting out the world. His presence alone was like a blade pressed against his throat.
"Tell me..." Yunfeng’s voice was low, controlled, but there was something dangerous simmering beneath it. "What was your mission?"
The man gritted his teeth, trying to glare back, trying to act like he wasn’t shaking in terror. "If you don’t let me go, you’ll face consequences. You don’t know who you’re dealing with."
Yunfeng tilted his head as if curious. Then, with the gentlest motion, he extended one leg and tapped his boot against the spy’s foot.
Crack!
The bone gave instantly.
The spy screamed, his body jerking violently in its bindings, eyes wide with disbelief. That hadn’t been a stomp. That was barely a kick.
Yunfeng crouched again, his hand gripping the man’s hair, forcing his face up so their eyes met directly. The glow in his gaze seemed brighter now, hungry, like an abyss. "If you don’t talk... I’ll break every bone in your body. And once you’re on the edge of death, I’ll heal you and start all over again. Trust me—I have all the time in the world."
The spy whimpered, his lips trembling, then bit down until blood seeped between his teeth. "F-fuck... I was only told to deliver the package! That’s it! I don’t know anything else, I swear!"
Yunfeng narrowed his eyes, searching his face for any hint of a lie. The fear in his voice sounded real. Too real. And yet... it wasn’t enough. These people had tried to poison them, kidnap him, toy with their lives. That wasn’t something he could forgive with a single frightened explanation.
Still, after a long silence, he murmured, "I believe you."
Relief crashed into the spy like a wave. He shook violently, tears almost forming. "Then untie me. Please. I have a family—two children. They’re waiting for me. Please, I’m begging you!"
Yunfeng’s lips curved. A smile—one that lit his face and twisted the air around him. Dangerous. Gorgeous. Too perfect. For a heartbeat, the spy forgot to breathe. He almost believed this man was merciful.
"You’ll let me go?" he asked, voice cracking with desperate hope.
"Of course," Yunfeng said, his voice soft as silk.
The spy’s chest loosened. His heart hammered with gratitude and disbelief. For a split second, he saw salvation. "Then... then untie me, hurry—"
But Yunfeng only sat down cross-legged in front of him, leaning his chin into his palm. "Nah. That would be too easy."
The spy’s breath caught. "W-what? What’s wrong with you, you lunatic?"
Yunfeng’s grin widened, shadows curling across his sharp features.
Panic surged in the spy. He thrashed, ropes digging into his skin, the pain in his leg screaming at him. "Please! I don’t mean any harm. I’ll never come back. Just let me go, I’ll give you anything you want—money, intel, weapons, anything! Please!" His voice broke into hoarse shouts, desperate, unashamed.
Yunfeng casually dug at his ear with a pinky, utterly unbothered, then sighed as if bored.
The spy swallowed hard, sweat beading on his forehead. "Anything... just tell me what you want."
Yunfeng tilted his head. "Funny. I thought agents like you were trained not to squeal so easily. I only broke one bone."
The man barked a shaky laugh, pained. "Easy for you to say! That wasn’t normal—you barely touched me and it shattered. If you really meant it, I’d already be dead. I’m not risking my life for pride. If begging keeps me alive, I’ll beg."
For the first time, Yunfeng chuckled low in his throat. "Tenacious. I like that." His knuckles cracked one by one as he leaned closer. "So... you promised me anything, right?"
The spy’s lips trembled. "...Yeah?"
"I want everything about your agency. Who. Where. Why. Every detail you know. Because if you don’t tell me..." His voice dropped into something cold, unshakable. "I’ll just have to torture it out of you. Might take longer. But it’ll be fun for me." 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
The man went pale as death. He gulped hard, nodding furiously. "I-I’ll tell you. Everything. Just... don’t hurt me anymore."
"Good." Yunfeng leaned back, his expression calm again.
And slowly, the spy began to talk.
The truth chilled the room.
The organization wasn’t some underground cult or criminal syndicate. It was government-run. Headed by the military itself. The experiments, the forced missions, the testing on infected—all sanctioned, all funded at the highest level.
For a nation’s own military to sacrifice its people in such grotesque experiments... it showed one thing.
The situation was far more dire than anyone in this house had realized.
