President's Daughter's Bodyguard-Chapter 113: Bloodline Sucks
Chapter 113: Bloodline Sucks
"I love you."
It slipped out of her like a confession she could no longer lock inside, and for a moment Theo simply froze above her, staring at her as if she had just cracked open the entire world.
The moment that followed was full of heat and trembling emotion.
Theo pressed his face into the crook of her neck, breathing her in.
Whatever intensity had been burning in him flared bright and fierce and ended fast, like something too powerful to control.
He hid his face for a second, grounding himself with her scent and her warmth.
Then, without a word, Theo kissed her forehead with a tenderness she had never felt from him before.
A slow breath left him, and he carefully pulled away, not letting the moment stretch into awkwardness.
"Do not move," he muttered like an order.
Danielle blinked up at him, her cheeks felt too warm, her body was still shaking from him beinh inside rather than anything else.
Theo stood up and pulled the blanket up to her chin almost too gently, tucking her in like she was the precious princess he needed to protect from the entire world.
He brushed a strand of hair from her face. "Stay there."
Then he turned away, grabbed his phone, and walked to the corner of the room. His shoulders were tense, and his voice shifted instantly into a colder, harder tone as he pressed the call button.
The name on the screen made Danielle’s heart tighten.
Theo waited only two seconds before Zack answered. The older man’s voice came through with amusement and irritation.
"Hello, son. I assume you called because you need something. You always do when you are panicking."
"Send a helicopter. I want Frank’s body flown out immediately."
He couldn’t be sure if Aidan’s one was going to come.
Zack chuckled like this was all a game. "A helicopter. You must think I am your servant. You think you can order me, after you shot m-"
"Then make it a jet," Theo cut in directly. "I am leaving with Danielle."
Zack hummed. "Not yet. You still owe me something. I want you to go to Argash. Talk to him. Understand your role. You can’t run from your blood forever."
Theo laughed under his breath, the same kind of laugh he gave Argash, the laugh that meant sanity was beginning to slip sideways.
"I am not going anywhere near that temple. I don’t care who your cult worships or what you promised them."
Zack’s voice hardened. "Theo. I didn’t ask. I ordered you."
Theo straightened, and the temperature in the room seemed to drop.
"You ordered nothing," Theo said. "You never could. Not when I was five. Not when I was fifteen. Not now."
Zack exhaled slowly. "If you walk away from me now, the consequences will not fall on you alone. That girl will suffer the same fate as the others did. Those who believed they could escape the path marked for them."
"If something happens to Danielle, I will expose everything you have ever done."
Zack scoffed. "Expose what? I have survived worse accusations."
Theo smiled. It wasn’t friendly. It was not warm. It was the smile of someone who knew the exact pressure point to strike.
"Not this...Not the girl from the old hospital. Not the one you buried in the wrong grave. Not the one whose name you erased from every record. You remember her. I know you do."
There was a sudden silence on the other end.
Theo continued, every word slow and precise. "I dug. I found everything your people hid. I know why you destroyed the file. I know what you did to the nurse who tried to report it. I know about the arrangement with the cult. I know the age she was. And I know her name."
Zack didn’t respond.
"If you want to test me, keep refusing. I will make sure her story is the last thing you ever hear before they drag you from your throne. Presidents fall easily. But monsters fall harder."
A shakier breath came through the phone. The first sign Zack Hale was afraid.
"You never should have gone looking for that," Zack muttered quietly.
"Too late," Theo replied. "Now send the jet."
Zack took a long moment. Then another.
Finally, he spoke. "It will be ready within the hour."
Theo smirked. "Good. And Zack."
"What is it."
"If you ever threaten Danielle again, even in words, I will not stop at exposing you. I will make sure you meet the same end Frank did."
Zack’s breath hissed. "You would threaten your own father."
Theo’s eyes darkened. "You are not my father. You are the man who ruined every life he touched." He paused, then ended cleanly. "The jet. One hour. Do not make me call again."
He ended the call without waiting for a response.
Theo stood there for several seconds, his shoulders kept rising and falling as he breathed out the last of his tension. Then he turned back toward the bed.
Danielle watched him carefully. "Theo... what did you just do."
He walked over and sat beside her, his hand brushing her cheek. "I protected you."
She swallowed softly. "From who?" 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"From everything he thinks he can still control."
She touched his hand tentatively, her gaze was full of concern. "And what about you."
Theo looked down at her like she was something he couldn’t let himself lose. "I am fine."
"You are not fine."
He paused. Then he leaned closer, pressing his lips lightly against her forehead again, letting the warmth of her calm him, letting her presence soften the lingering rage in his chest.
"Stay close tonight," Theo murmured. "I don’t trust the quiet."
Danielle curled closer to him on instinct, and the tension in his body shifted again.
His hand moved to her waist almost unconsciously, pulling her against him.
Theo whispered, but it was barely a sound, "And do not say those words again unless you want me to lose my mind."
She smiled softly. "I love you."
"Let’s finish it..."
