President's Daughter's Bodyguard-Chapter 93: The President’s Secret
Chapter 93: The President’s Secret
President Elias Geiger’s office was drowned in half darkness.
He was so stiff and breathless. The live broadcast of Danielle on the rooftop had shaken something deep inside him. The girl he once tucked into bed. The girl who used to run in his garden barefoot. His baby. His only living family.
And now she was thousands of kilometers away. And still in danger.
He pressed his fingers against his temples and tried to keep his thoughts from spinning. His advisors had begged him to stay overseas. The global summit could not be delayed. His country needed stability after the chaos Ethan created.
But nothing mattered more to him than Danielle.
A knock sounded.
"Enter," he said, tired and irritated.
One of his trusted agents, a sharp man with a cold stare, stepped inside. He bowed respectfully and placed a thick black envelope on the desk. There was no stamp or return address. Just a symbol.
A crescent moon marked across the front.
Elias’s skin was covered in tiny little snowflakes. He knew that symbol.
His deep voice turned into a whisper. "Where did you get this?"
"We found it in your private compound. It was hidden in your documents safe. The guards swear they never let anyone near it."
Elias reached out with a shaking hand. He didn’t open it yet. Even touching it made his skin crawl.
"Who gave you permission to look inside my personal files," Elias asked with a very dangerous tone.
"Sir, this is regarding the Hale case. It is connected to the terror attack. We thought you needed to see it."
"Hale..."
Elias felt a bitter taste in his mouth.
" Zack Hale...that monster. A man once called my friend. The father of the devil boy Ethan. A man who could destroy lives with a smile..."
He slowly opened the envelope and saw a single sheet of aged paper slide out. The handwriting was unmistakably elegant and arrogant.
It belonged to Zack Hale.
~To my beloved President,
The day your precious girl learns the truth, she will destroy us all.
You can’t protect her. She was chosen long before you claimed her. Before you saved her from her real blood.
When she discovers her origin, their prophecy will no longer sleep.
Protect her if you want. It will make no difference.
Her life is a ticking clock.
Sincerely,
Zack Hale~
The air left Elias’ chest. He gripped the edges of the letter as if he wanted to rip it into dust.
Real blood...
The words stabbed him again and again.
His mind traveled back many years. To a stormy night. To a tiny baby wrapped in soaked blankets. To a desperate woman screaming that they were going to take her daughter. That the cult would kill her. That some crazy prophecy had started.
He took that child and hid her. He gave her a new name... Danielle. He protected her from everything. Even the truth.
This letter was a message he hoped he would never receive.
The agent spoke softly. "Sir. Do you know what this means."
Elias slammed the paper onto the desk. "It means Zack is not finished. It means someone still believes in that cursed mythology."
"What mythology sir."
Elias’ eyes lifted and looked full of hatred.
"Asteria."
The agent stepped back slightly. "You mean the ancient cult buried in the desert. The one that worships the queen of death."
"Yes," Elias breathed. "The Eternal Queen. A woman born to survive death. A woman whose rebirth would bring destruction to her enemies. A woman they believe will wear a crown of blood."
The agent’s voice dropped. "You think they believe Danielle is her."
Elias did not answer. His silence was the answer.
He had run from that possibility since the day he first held Danielle in his arms. He had believed he could change fate if he hid her far away.
But fate had teeth. And it had caught her.
The agent cleared his throat gently. "We traced Theo and Danielle. They are in Asteria. The cult’s homeland."
Elias grabbed the man by the collar. "Why was I not informed the moment they left Germanya?"
"You were in the middle of negotiations sir. Your staff said you needed no distractions..."
Elias shoved him away so fast the man stumbled. "I don’t care what they said. That girl is my responsibility. I should have been there."
The agent adjusted his suit silently. "What are your orders sir? Shall we arrange a plane? Shall we call back the guards. We can remove them from Asteria before anything happens."
Elias stared down at the letter again. Zack’s mocking message. The threat between every line.
He did want to bring Danielle home. He wanted to fly to her side and never let her out of his sight again.
But he knew what the cult wanted. Running would not stop them. Leaving now would only make her look weaker. It could even trigger the prophecy further.
His jaw clenched.
"No," Elias said finally. "They must stay."
The agent looked stunned. "Sir."
"We cannot allow the Order of the Eternal Queen to believe we are afraid. If we move her now, the cult will go underground. We will lose them forever. They will take her again. And next time we may not be fast enough."
The agent nodded slowly. "We will have Frank’s team protect them."
Elias almost laughed. Not out of joy or out of absurdity. "Theo is the only real shield she has. And I do not trust anyone more than him."
He walked to the balcony and stared at the dark city below. His heart was crushed by the pressure it was forced to hold.
"It is time," Elias whispered to himself. "Time she learns why she has been hunted. Time she learns the truth of her blood."
His eyes filled with a fire that had not burned in years.
"If they want to play with destiny. Then let us see who destiny chooses."
The agent waited. Silent. Alert.
Elias turned back to him.
"Send Theo a message. Now."
"What message sir?"
Tell him that Danielle must stay in Asteria. Tell him to keep her close. Tell him to trust no one there except the people he brought. And tell him one more thing."
The agent straightened fully.
Elias walked closer and lowered his voice like a secret that could drown the world.
"Tell him the cult does not want Danielle alone."
He paused.
"They want her love."
The room went silent.
The agent asked one final question. "Sir. What does that mean?" 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
Elias stared down at his reflection in the dark glass.
"It means the prophecy is nearly ready to begin."
