Chapter 21: Potion

A young Lyle shared with George popcorns while the crowd waited in anticipation for the performance of probably their lifetime.

"Ladies and gentlemen." A professional and deep-sounding voice echoed throughout the stadium, "Welcome to the last show of the night, presenting, the greatest magician of all time, the wizard from far far away, the Great Wizard, O.D Sterling!!!"

A light was shined in the dark sky, projecting it right above the recently rebuilt Big Ben, aka Great Bell of the Great Clock of Westminster.

The audience in the stadium had to squint if they wanted to have a good look at what the light was projecting, but the screen that was in the middle of the stadium presented it in a cinematic fashion, with clapping their hands gently after seeing O.D Sterling levitating above the tower.

O.D. Sterling lifted his face into the dark sky and closed his eyes before the screen zoomed in on one of his fingers, just like how he requested.

He then took a breath before staring at his finger, taking a moment before snapping it; theBig Ben was then covered with flame at a great speed.

The fire then crawled up his pants before burning him.

Among the audience, nobody was worried for him as he had done this trick many times, and so they clapped, thinking that the trick was over. However, he raised his hands before the illusion of fire jumped out of his hands and reached for the sky.

And as it touched the clouds, fire instantly filled the sky, burning all of the clouds that it came in contact with. In 1 minute, the entirety of London had been covered by the illusion of fire; in two, Europe, and in three, the entire world.

At that moment in time, the world looked more like the sun, burning.

Everyone on the planet, in all of the continents and in all of the world, could lift their heads and see the sky covered with fire; if they squinted, they might have also seen a Phoenix flying through it.

Oddly enough, they could feel themself warmer from the heat, which made the trick slightly scary to some. 𝒃𝙚𝙙𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙚𝒍.𝒐𝙧𝒈

The President of the United States sat right in front of the screen, with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Derek standing beside him.

The President smiled, leaning into the General to whisper, "So, how much did it cost to do all of this trick?"

The General shook his head, shrugging. "I don't know, Mr. President.. I dont think he used any."

The President turned in shock to the General, "Then… How?" He asked; he couldn't believe that one man was truly capable of such a trick if they didn't use any of the money that was in the United States Reserve.

"I don't know. He told me this. No matter what, a great magician NEVER reveals his secret."

The President slowly turned, facing the screen in the stadium, more shocked by that fact than by the trick alone.

The screen zoomed back into his finger, which he snapped. The fire that had spread all across the sky in the globe looked as if it was being sucked back into a vortex in his finger; Sterling acted in pain as the last of the fire was sucked back into his finger.

And the light that was projected on him was turned off.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

George woke up from his dream. His fever had worsened, and the pain that was present in his ribs was greater.

As he forced himself back up from the bed, he could see that his skin was even more pale, 'I got to get myself tanned,' He joked to himself, trying to keep himself in a light spirit.

He walked slowly towards the door and could see a box-like shadow right under the line of the door.

As he opened the door, he could see a box in front of it with his name on it.

He quickly kicked it inside his room; he had not much energy left inside his body to bend down and pick it up.

Closing the door, he sat down on the floor before opening the box, with his finger shaking as he was doing it.

As he unwrapped the contents of the box, he saw only two items inside, a letter and a bottle.

The letter read, "I'm writing this letter in a rush so I cant say a lot here, but, I know that you might have been hurt, the contents of the bottle will fix that. Now, for the important part, Oztanfil promised the Seraphina that he can do a speech in a few days time, and as far as everyone knows, the Great Wizard is a man of his word, so do that, okay?" Michael's writing ended there.

But George couldn't wait and quickly drank the water in the bottle; as the liquid flowed through his throat, he could feel a sweet and cold sensation tingling it.

And in a few seconds, the bottle was emptied.

His pale skin returned to normal, his body had its normal energy levels back, and the pain that was lingering in his ribs turned warm and was no more.

"What the heck is this thing?" George looked through the bottle. It reminded him of one of the drinks that was still in its research and development phase back on earth, it was a drink that a company claimed would heal most illnesses, but this drink was greater than it!

He stood up, opening his shirt before looking at himself in the mirror. Not even a bruise on his body; he was completely healed.

'Now that this problem is over, what's next?' He read the letter once more, seeing that he has to pretend to be Oz inside of the academy.

He then yawned once more; despite sleeping already, he felt tired, as if he had done days' worth of work, and his body fell onto the bed once more.
