Pretending to Cultivate in Kindergarten-Chapter 362: The Bracelet
The four of them looked shocked.
Did she make her move that fast?
Lin Zhengran, on the other hand, was sitting there casually reading a book. “Relax. I’ll head back after dinner tonight.”
Jiang Xueli frowned. “Wait, why are you going out to dinner?”
Lin Zhengran looked up and explained, “It’s about Uncle Jiang.”
He gave a detailed account of last week’s product issue, and only then did Jiang Xueli realize it was all because of her.
Lin Zhengran put the book down. “That’s basically it. So she asked me to dinner. It’s a small request—didn’t feel right to say no.”
Jiang Xueli felt like she suddenly had no say in the matter at all.
The three girls sat beside Lin Zhengran. Han Wenwen clung to his arm, a slight tinge of jealousy in her tone. “Well, if you put it that way, then Jiang Qian helped us out with Uncle’s factory situation without even blinking.”
He Qing frowned slightly after hearing the reason. “And she didn’t ask for anything in return. She only invited Zhengran to dinner after helping. That means she left him the choice—she’s already thinking about him.”
Han Wenwen leaned her head on Lin Zhengran’s arm. Even so... this kind of invitation still felt like a date.
If dinner couldn’t be avoided, then something had to be done.
The little fox had a flash of inspiration—her imaginary fox ears twitched. “Got it! Zhengran-gege, when you eat with Jiang Qian, can you try not to sit next to her? Sitting across is fine, just not side by side.”
“Sure, we won’t be sitting next to each other. It’s just a regular dinner.”
Han Wenwen nodded with a smile, then dug around in her bag. She pulled out a small mirror and used a hairpin to pop the mirror piece out.
She held the sharp piece of mirror in her hand.
The others had no idea what she was up to.
Han Wenwen waved the mirror piece and said:
“Tonight’s dinner counts as a business dinner since it’s because someone helped us out. As his girlfriends, sure, we’re a little jealous, but we can’t mess things up. Zhengran-gege’s going to be a big boss, and this kind of thing will happen a lot in the future.
We can’t expect him to never eat with another woman again for the rest of his life—that would ruin his career.
But on the flip side, no matter what, Jiang Qian is still a romantic rival. We can’t just do nothing. So...”
Han Wenwen used the mirror shard to cut off a strand of her “fox fur”—aka her hair.
She rubbed it in her hands to make a bracelet, then smeared lipstick on her lips and bit down on the hair bracelet.
Now the bracelet had a vivid mark of bright lipstick.
At the end of the bracelet, Han Wenwen pulled out a tiny fox tail from her bag to finish it off.
A self-made, temporary fox bracelet—complete!
Han Wenwen looked at Lin Zhengran.
“Ta-da! Zhengran-gege, give me your hand. I’ll tie it on. Don’t take it off until you get home tonight. This means we’re okay with you having dinner with Jiang Qian, but we’re still on guard. After all, you’re our boyfriend—we have to mark our territory!”
Lin Zhengran smiled and held out his hand, impressed by the little fox’s endless ideas.

Seeing his confusion, Han Wenwen replied, “I passed by a store the other day and thought they were cute, so I bought a bunch. Turns out they came in handy!”
“Alright, go ahead and tie it on.”
Watching Han Wenwen tie the bracelet on him, Jiang Xueli and He Qing thought it was a brilliant idea—marking territory without interfering with dinner.
They quickly followed suit. He Qing took off her hair tie, kissed it, and slipped it onto Lin Zhengran’s wrist.
Jiang Xueli glanced down at her dress, borrowed Han Wenwen’s mirror piece, and cut a small strip of fabric from an unnoticeable spot on the hem. She used her tiny canine tooth to bite a mark into it as a symbol, then fashioned it into a bracelet and tied it on him as well.
Now, with three bracelets on his wrist, the three girls spoke in unison:
“Make sure to come home right after dinner!”
Lin Zhengran responded, “Got it.”
That afternoon, Jiang Jingshi found out about the dinner—and learned her younger sister was going on a date with Lin Zhengran.
After hearing about the girls’ methods, she quietly arranged to meet Lin Zhengran near the girls’ locker room when no one was around.
Boldly, Jiang Jingshi cut off one of her bra clasps and tied it around Lin Zhengran’s hand like a bracelet. It was from a brand she always wore—Jiang Qian would definitely recognize it immediately as her sister’s.
Jiang Jingshi held her shirt against her chest, covering the side that had lost its strap.
She softly said, “Come home early tonight. Don’t chat with Qian too long.”
Lin Zhengran kissed her lips.
“Don’t worry.”
Jiang Jingshi bit her lip bashfully. “Then teacher’s off to the locker room to change into a new bra. Go on with your business, Lin Zhengran.”
There were no classes that afternoon, and evening came in a flash.
Inside a private dressing room, Jiang Qian sat before a vanity mirror.
Makeup artists moved around her, applying light makeup and brushing out her long hair with precision.
The smallest details might seem trivial, but for someone like her, tonight’s dinner was not one to overlook.
Jiang Qian looked at her reflection and asked, “Is this brand the same one my sister uses?”
The makeup artist nodded. “Yes, it’s the same brand as the eldest miss. Both sets are custom-made for your skin types, only with slight variations in the ingredient ratios.”
Jiang Qian looked puzzled but didn’t press further.
Her sister’s skin had only recently improved, and so had the skin of those other girls...
If she and her sister were using the same cosmetics, then the only explanation was that Lin Zhengran had some unique method to improve skin... he could really make anything happen.
The makeup artist asked, “Second Miss, what outfit would you like to wear tonight? We’ve prepared several sets over there—some more formal, some more casual. All to your right...”
Jiang Qian turned to look at the outfits. There were long and short dresses, some glamorous, some simple—a wide variety.
She paused, eyes settling on one dress. “That one. But change the color to black.”
“Black? That dress looks much better in white.”
“Just do as I say.”
The makeup artist gave in. “Alright... honestly, Second Miss, with your looks you’d pull off anything. I’ll go get the black version for you.”
Since she was going to meet Lin Zhengran, Jiang Qian wanted to wear her favorite color—to show him her most beautiful side. That was her philosophy when it came to winning over a guy.
She wanted him to see the real her, and fall for that version.
Just then, Fang Meng walked in. “Qianqian, I double-checked with the restaurant—everything on the menu is perfect.”
Jiang Qian looked at her reflection, then at Fang Meng in the mirror. “Got it. How’s the investigation going? You said it was done this afternoon?”
“Yes.” Fang Meng stood beside her, admiring her elegant appearance. “We can’t dig into Han Wenwen anymore. She’s caught on to why we were interviewing them.
But even with just He Qing, Jiang Xueli, and the eldest miss, I have enough material. I’ll analyze their similarities and differences tonight and figure out what exactly makes Lin Zhengran’s heart skip a beat.”
Jiang Qian’s lips curled as she stared at herself in the mirror.
“I will have him. No matter what, I’ll make him mine.”
