Chapter 1480: A Third Way

Kent spent two more days with Li Hua and Aysel, doing all kinds of fun stuff. He owed her so much for the times he was away when she came around to play with him.

That was a alot of time missed, and for that, he used the last two days to make it up to her.

Thankfully, her new friend Aysel seems to have made an impact on her, so she decided to return to seclusion, with Aysel joining her.

They promised to come back when Li Hua reaches the Heavenly Ascension stage.

It worked perfectly for Kent’s plans, since he would now have nothing to worry about while away. After leaving them at his mom’s place, he returned to the Mountain Garden to meet the ladies.

Vexthra and Miryssa had already put things in place by the time he returned, so he wasn’t so surprised when he found out Vika had accepted to be his guard.

He knew that with Vexthra taking the helm, there was no way Vika would reject such an offer. She signed the contract, and Kent transferred the technique as he promised.

"Remember, whenever you face any problem you cannot handle, don’t hesitate to call for help. Whatever you are training for will take care of itself when the time comes."

Kent nodded to Miryssa’s words, and he got ready to head back with the ladies.

Fallon agreed to go with him, and so did Vika. Vexthra didn’t reveal what she offered Vika before she accepted to become his guard, but judging from how happy she was smiling with Vexthra and the others when he arrived, he knew Vexthra had gone out of her way.

Lene, on the other hand, was more than happy to go with him. She had already shown her desire to go with him when he first revealed he would be going to a unique world. So this was her chance, and she took it with both hands.

"Ladies, be sure to keep him safe. He may be a monster, but even he needs help. Also, make sure he doesn’t go chasing every woman he sees. You three are more than enough to keep him busy..."

They blushed, which was normal considering Vexthra had her hands all over Kent, even in their presence. But her words spoiled everything, so they could only blush.

"Alright, time to head out. We will be in touch." Kent nodded and kissed his two goddesses before vanishing away.

After they were gone, Vexthra turned and looked at Miryssa, who smiled and nodded at her. The two of them vanished and appeared somewhere on Planet Brymrr.

Vexthra used her superior senses to scan the whole of Snow City as if she were looking for something. A few seconds later, a smile appeared on her face.

"Let’s go." Miryssa nodded and vanished from sight.

Unknown to Kent, his two goddesses had followed him on a mission they had told him nothing about. He and the three ladies returned to Fallon’s store, where the painting of his mom remained where he had left it seven hours ago.

Lene walked over and looked at it. "Master, is this your mother?" she asked politely. While underneath that calm and docile nature lay a beast ready to be unleashed, she always appeared quiet when around people.

"Yes, and you can call me Kent when we are alone. No need to keep calling me master."

She nodded, but Kent knew she would never do that. "She is beautiful."

"That she is." While he had no idea whether she was still alive or not, in his heart, she was still alive, so he wouldn’t address her in the past tense.

Vika, already aware of Kent’s real identity, was still struggling to make sense of it. But for now, she knew the brat before her was the Kent Madson everyone kept searching for.

As for Fallon, she was grateful that Kent finally managed to give them a home where they wouldn’t have to worry about running from their enemies ever again. They now have literal goddesses protecting them.

"Where do we go next?" Lene asked after having had enough of Kent’s painting.

Kent turned to Vika and asked, "You are an elf, meaning you came from the Elven Continent. Mind telling me how you managed to cross over? The last time I checked, you had to be of a certain standing to be able to use the Continental Teleportation Channel. The other method is a death sentence if not lucky enough."

Even from what Vika said during their standoff, it was clear Fallon and Aysel also crossed two continents to get here. It seems there is another way that isn’t being discussed.

"Using the channel is indeed difficult to come by, and travelling by sea is dangerous. The last I heard, a god-level whale had surfaced, and so far, three ships had fallen prey to it.

This has left many worried. While using the channel is hard to come by, there is a third method available only to key members of society.

These aren’t channels like the Continental Teleportation Channel, but instant teleportation gates that work by activating them using Spirit Crystals.

I came from the Red Diary Assassin Guild, so I have an access token that activates the Teleportation Gate belonging to my guild." She turned and looked at Fallon.

"My dear Fallon here used the token of a merchant she acquired a painting for to travel..."

Fallon nodded. "Indeed. When she and those bastards murdered my family and chased after us, I asked for a favour from an old client of mine. Because she was so pleased with the service I provided, she granted me temporary access.

I can’t use it anymore. However, as she said, there is a third way, and that is a Teleportation Gate belonging to some prominent powerhouses."

Vika smiled, focusing on the former part of Fallon’s words. "For your information, sweet Fallon, I never killed any member of your family. In fact, for what they had done, I have already killed over a dozen who had a hand in the demise of your family.

While I may be the most evil person in your eyes, I see you as my friend, and so I can never bring myself to hurt you or your family."

"How noble," Fallon sneered. "Aren’t you the same person willing to take my sister from me, knowing full well she would be killed and refined into whatever twisted thing your employers had in mind?"

She took a step forward and appeared before Vika. "I don’t care about whether or not you have avenged my family. In my eyes, you people killed my family, and one day, I will get my revenge."

Vika sighed and said nothing.

Lene pulled Fallon away to calm her down while Kent shook his head and smiled. ’Looks like I will have so much drama on this journey.’

Fallon hates Vika, and that is plain from the look in her eyes. However, while in a way that should have compelled Kent to separate them, he chose not to.

Instead, he listened to what they both said and started coming up with plans to ensure they don’t rip each other’s clothes off.

Not that he would hate to see what is hidden beneath their clothes.

Talk about clothes.

"Why don’t we go have dinner? Then we can head to the clothing store for a makeover. We can pick a few canvases, paint, and brushes afterwards."

They nodded and soon left the rundown store, heading to a restaurant Vika had recommended at Kent’s request.
