Primordial Expanse: I have the Strongest Talent!-Chapter 620: How do I get back!?

In the short stint Alex had inside the pocket dimension, the Dead Realm had somehow gone through some major changes.

The landscape was cracking, with the skies above even crumbling under the same spiderweb like cracks that had taken his beloved System Breaker from him just moments prior.

The dead basin he stood in, once the entrance to the mysterious pocket dimension, had started to cave in on itself.

Its edges began to fall apart one after the other, with each side of the circular bowl-like structure starting to crumble, and create landslides of impossible enormity to rush inwards towards the centre, where Alex himself currently stood.

Meanwhile, Alex himself was completely unfazed by everything that was happening around him. Such an environmental disaster might seem catastrophic to a normal person, but to Alex, it wouldn't even leave a scratch on him if the entire basin suddenly collapsed on him and buried him under hundreds of tons of dirt, rocks and debris.

Instead, his focus was still placed on the disappearance and disintegration of System Breaker.

The sword was no more, as it had fulfilled its purpose.

As it had always been, even when it was Virtue's Edge, it had a mind of its own, and now that it had achieved its self actualisation, it no longer wished to remain.

Though, Alex also suspected that the power needed to pull off a feat as astonishing as severing his connection with the System was so astronomical, that it only made sense that a great sacrifice had to be made to achieve it.

…And such a sacrifice was already made by Mikhail, but it seemed even that wasn't enough to fight against the power of an existence beyond even the ethereal Universal God realm.

Even now, with his connection cut off, Alex could still feel the terrifying power of the System just through the effects it had on everything around him.

He could already see that the Dead Realm suddenly coming under such dissarray was no coincidence, and the System had probably noticed that Alex's connection with it had been cut off.

Though, Alex didn't quite understand why it was unable to act against him directly.

This was something that had been plaguing him at the back of his mind ever since he'd heard of Mikhail's plan from the man himself.

He'd wondered what difference cutting his connection with the System would make, as he had already seen that it was even more powerful than the most powerful beings in the universe, so was this even necessary?

Was fighting against it even worth it? Surely nobody could do anything about it regardless of whether they were a Universal God, or the weakest F rank awakened.

But now, Alex's eyes were opened to the truth.

Well… A slither of the truth.

For some reason, the System couldn't act directly against Alex now that his connection with it was severed.

In fact, if he chose to pay more attention to it back when he was connected with it, he would have realised that it couldn't outright kill him back then either, not with its own power at least.

There was always the risk of the System completely halting his path forwards, and henceforth putting a complete halt on his future then and there, but still, it couldn't kill him outright, or maybe chose not to…?

Either way, he had already realised that the System was under some sort of limit, some sort of blocker that prevented it from utilising its own power in his universe. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

He didn't know what it was, or what kind of power was so terrifying that it could stop the System from acting out – but he was sure as hell glad that it existed!

If it didn't, then the System really would be able to do whatever it liked in the universe completely unhindered!

Alex cut his connection with it? Who gives a fuck, it'll just smite him right then and there!

Thankfully, such a thing couldn't happen…

At least for the time being.

Regardless, now Alex knew what to do.

He had a path forward for himself now.

His severed connection with the System meant that all limitations it had placed on him were removed.

Gone were the days of having to slave away to fulfil a requirement, just to have two more even harder requirements sitting, waiting for him to complete them as well, just to rank up a single minor rank.

He could already foresee just how quickly he might become extremely powerful, as the task of fulfilling his requirements was what held him back so much during his time as an Awakened.

He'd practically speedran his way through the F to D tiers, and since requirements started to be introduced past C tier, that was where his progress essentially halted to a snail's crawl.

Now though?

He had no such hindrance.

'But Mira…'

He was gutted that Mira couldn't share the same luxuries as him anymore though.

His days of hunting with her were his most fond memories, but he knew that they wouldn't be able to enjoy such a thing anymore.

The gap between them would only widen from now on, and it would grow quicker than ever.

Alex wasn't planning to sit around idling his way through the process, as he was already pumped up and ready to start hunting right now.

The only thing that might be of a slight hindrance to him was act of actually finding Beasts, or enemies in general, who are strong enough to provide Beast cores or Soul cores that actually contribute to his progress.

He knew that the higher he climbed, the slower his ascent would become due to the amount of people or Beasts at the same level drastically decreasing as he went.

But that was just something he'd have to deal with one at a time.

Thankfully, with the current situation of the Federation wanting to snatch a part of Andromeda for themselves, he wasn't devoid of any opportunities to rapidly climb the ranks.

There would be plenty of B tier, A tier and even S tier opponents ripe for the picking the moment he steps foot back in the outside universe.
