Primordial Villain With A Slave Harem-Chapter 632: No More Hiding
"Duel!" Raika suddenly demanded, her pride was wounded so much so that she had to stand up for herself.
Vex lifted an amused brow. "Right now, little sis? I mean, I'm down, but…"
Raika froze. She realized she couldn't move, let alone fight. Her lips parted as if to challenge the mockery, but no words came. She fell silent, only her violently burning eyes spoke of her strong protest.
I couldn't help but think that this was quite a rude motion from Vex. Not because she was messing with her injured ally, but because she couldn't give a damn about the death and misery surrounding us. The cries and wails of the beastkin continued endlessly, yet she was humming her happy little song while doodling a stocky, gentlemanly mustache on Raika's face.
That being said, I couldn't say I was surprised. For a woman of her career choice and longevity in said career, she must've become entirely desensitized to death. It did not seem to affect her one bit.

The fact Black Fang left the 10-year-old little Vex in a forest teeming with nothing but dangerous monsters to find her way out with only a little dagger aiding her quest likely didn't help bolster this woman's empathy levels either.
I barely paid attention to their antics, though. My gaze had returned to the necromancer. I couldn't help but have my attention drawn to her ruined form.
Despite the state she was in, it was clear she had not been healthy even before Raika's [Fist of Annihilation] struck her square in the chest. Her ribcage revealed fractured, blackened bones. Her right shoulder had been completely obliterated, leaving behind nothing but a miserable stump. What remained of her lower half was nothing more than tattered robes soaked in congealed blood.
But what disturbed me the most was not her injuries. It was the faint, sickly glow clinging to what was left of her body.
She had been trying to turn herself into an undead.
Even though I never saw a person trying to turn themselves into an undead, the telltale signs were easy to notice. The deathly pallor. The lingering magic that made me think of death—perhaps that was responsible for keeping her tethered to this world. The unnatural way her remaining flesh seemed to have entered a phase of rotting only made it more obvious.
She had been on the verge of achieving lichdom.
The Covenant of Eternity's sole requirement for entry into their inner circle shedding one's mortal coils. And judging by her half-undead body, she was close to achieving it. Before seeing this body, I assumed a ritual would be a one-and-done deal, but I was proven wrong. She was only taking small steps toward transforming into an undead, or perhaps she failed the ritual, leaving her in a half-human, half-undead body.
Nonetheless, now she was captured, with her body proving to be too broken to heal fully.
And yet, her fingers twitched.
What a disgusting sight…
I continued consoling the grieving rabbitgirl until Vex was done painting her masterpiece on Raika's face. Once she stood from her side and nodded at her work proudly, I asked for her to accompany me outside while BunBun remained behind.
"What should we do about them?" I questioned in a low whisper.
A cold, calculating tone replied. "We'll kill them all, of course. Unless you're ready to have your secret be widespread. They know you're a strange mage who not only has unprecedented command over the elements but also controls teleportation gates."
Now I understood why she paid so little respect to the dead and injured back in the infirmary. In her mind, all beastkin were already sentenced to death.
I closed my eyes and concentrated deeply, listening to my heart. I had a very important decision to make.
First, I could reveal my status as the Primordial Subjugator to Vex. Although I can't [Subjugate] everyone present on a moment's notice as the capacity would be reached and the spell would enter a forced cooldown, I could do it over a few days worth of time.
Second, kill them all in cold blood, Ryker and his team included. Although she didn't specify, I knew Vex included them on her kill list as well. Only Ignis and Raika would be spared besides my allies.
Third… "Future wife, I'm tired."
"Hmm?" she asked confusedly.
"I'm tired of pretending to be a weakling. I'm tired of holding my full strength back. I want to go all out in my future fights."
"But…"
"I have your support, no? The sexy ladies of the drug division have my back. Devil is not a public figure, no one knows my location. I act behind the scenes. As long as Black Fang doesn't allow other circle heads to give me orders, even they won't know where I am. She just has to forbid bad actors like Ryker from getting into my mission group. If I'm sent on missions in my lonesome or accompanied by people she trusts, how bad can it really get?
Furthermore, once the Consortium realizes how big of a potential asset I can be in the near future if I keep growing at my current pace, they might support me as well instead of trying to bring me down. At the end of the day, they're supposed to act in the best interest of the organization, no?
Then the nobles would be my biggest annoyance, but as long as I keep Devil a man shrouded in mystery, they can't do much besides attacking the whole syndicate to have a sliver of hope at finding me. But then, I can just wear a different mask, change my appearance, take on a different alias…"
I locked eyes with her, drawn into the depths of her rich, reddish-brown gaze. Then, I declared, "The days where I'm forced to hide in the shadows, shivering in fear of being found, are over. The time for secrecy has passed. Devil is ready to rise—ready to claim his place at the heart of this land."
