Emperor Ziwei shook his head in lament and said, "Tathagata still acts this way, only valuing power and benefits.

Back in the days when I was with Buddhism, I disliked this about Tathagata and advised The Buddha numerous times, but The Buddha not only ignored me but bore grudge against me, attempting to plot against me several times.

Paths differ hence cannot plan together. Since Tathagata refused to change, I abandoned him and sought a wise ruler at the Heavenly Court, relying on Your Majesty’s favor, allowing me to ascend to the position of Ziwei Emperor. I am indeed deeply grateful, pledging my utmost loyalty to benefit the Three Realms until death."

After finishing, he folded his fists and bowed deeply to Heavenly Emperor Hao Tian, maligning Tathagata whilst expressing loyalty to Heavenly Emperor.

Heavenly Emperor Hao Tian laughed heartily and said, "Who in the Three Realms doesn’t know Ksitigarbha’s compassion? It’s also a blessing for the Heavenly Court to utilize your talents, the position of Ziwei Emperor can only be honored by Fellow Daoist Ksitigarbha."

Tang Sanzang immediately said, "Your Majesty is wise, Emperor is discerning, truly a blessing for all creatures of the Three Realms.

Under Your Majesty’s rule and the Emperor’s assistance, even the Buddhas of Buddhism wouldn’t dare act recklessly in Eastern Land." He looked eagerly at them, "I have humbled myself already, yet you’re unwilling to help us?"

Heavenly Emperor Hao Tian smiled and said, "Ziwei, with your understanding of Buddhism, do you think Tathagata will make things difficult for Tang Sanzang?"

Emperor Ziwei sighed and said, "From my understanding of The Buddha, he certainly will, even the entire Middle Mahayana Buddhism will be wiped out completely."

Tang Sanzang urgently said, "Please save me, Your Majesty. The death of a humble monk is insignificant, yet I cannot bear to see Evil Buddha distort the doctrine, causing chaos among Eastern Land creatures. If that’s the case, I die with another regret."

Heavenly Emperor Hao Tian said, "Tang Sanzang, having such enlightenment is indeed a blessing for Eastern Land."

Then asked, "Ziwei, I wish to help Tang Sanzang, incorporate Buddhism into the Heavenly Court and provide protection, what do you think?"

Emperor Ziwei pondered for a moment and said, "If the intention is to incorporate Buddhism into the Heavenly Court, then Buddhism’s flaws must be removed.

Today’s Buddhism is, rather, Small Mahayana Buddhism, established by Shakyamuni during his teachings in Tianzhu, emphasizing ten houses with nine monks, everywhere is Buddha Country.

When Buddhism later entered Eastern Land, it continued this tradition, winning by the number of monks. Regardless of great evildoers or court invasion, all could be taken under its wing, thus creating the current situation: widespread Buddhism but nowhere a pure land."

"Namo Amitabha Buddha~" Tang Sanzang clasped his hands, sighed and said, "The Emperor is quite right, I’ve seen this situation too, realizing my mistake, West Land Buddhism cannot transform Eastern Land creatures."

Heavenly Emperor Hao Tian shook his head and said, "Such prosperity is indeed a castle in the sky, hard to last."

"Your Majesty is right, I believe such a non-discriminatory disciple recruitment will bring very adverse impacts on the Heavenly Court."

Heavenly Emperor Hao Tian resolutely said, "Then change~"

Looked at Tang Sanzang and said, "Buddha, are you willing to change?"

Tang Sanzang respectfully said, "Reporting to Your Majesty, the humble monk is already changing, but there are difficulties.

Currently, Middle Mahayana Buddhist Disciples are still few, I can use Mana and Divine Skills to discern true nature, but once Middle Mahayana Buddhism expands, disciples worry ordinary disciples lack the ability to distinguish between good and evil, knowing a person’s surface but not their heart."

Heavenly Emperor Hao Tian nodded and said, "There is reason, Ziwei, how do you think it should be handled?"

Emperor Ziwei respectfully said, "Reporting to Your Majesty, the Lower Realm already has successful practices that can be referenced."

"Oh~ What experience?"

"When I was a Bodhisattva, the Hundred Schools suppressed Zen, squeezing the Zen school hard, when I had no matters on Yin Mountain, wanting to defeat the enemy required understanding the enemy’s thoughts, I researched the Hundred Schools.

I discovered that Hundred Schools disciples recruitment is quite special. They rarely accept idle individuals, Hundred Schools have opposition too, but the recruitment is consistent uniformly.

Mostly Enlightenment by Confucian, after enlightenment some Confucian disciples participate in Imperial Exams, while some who do not aspire to Imperial Exams join other Hundred Schools exams, upon passing, enter Hundred Schools Academy, then undergo professional training, cultivate for a number of years, to truly become a Hundred Schools disciple.

During these years, the disciple’s character, background, are already crystal clear, largely avoiding accepting malicious individuals."

Heavenly Emperor Hao Tian nodded with a smile and said, "Hundred Schools disciple recruitment consistent for countless years unchanged, clearly the work of that legendary Vice Family Head of Hundred Schools, his rules."

Emperor Ziwei respectfully said, "Disciple thinks so too, but this model is excellent, future Buddhist disciples can be cultivated likewise."

Heavenly Emperor Hao Tian looked at Tang Sanzang and said, "In the future, Middle Mahayana Buddhism shall learn from Hundred Schools, establish Buddhist College to recruit disciples, are you willing?" 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

All Buddhist disciples must study Buddhist Scriptures for five years in Buddhist College, pass exams to become Buddha Sect disciple, issuing Dudie."

Tang Sanzang hesitated and said, "Your Majesty, what if someone is devoted to Buddhism? Can Buddha Sect open its doors?"

Emperor Ziwei immediately shook his head and said, "Impossible!"

Seriously said, "If one truly holds a heart for Buddhism, naturally can rely on Buddha heart, great perseverance, great determination, enter Buddhist College, then pass Buddhist College exams to become a Buddha Sect disciple.

If one cannot even understand Buddhist Scriptures, how can they talk about having a heart for Buddhism?"

"What if someone has done wrong, awakened before Buddha, should the mercy door be opened then?"

Emperor Ziwei snorted unpleasantly and said, "During my time on Yin Mountain, I saw many ghosts awakened before Buddha, they can repent before my seat, but repentance followed by still must pass through the Eighteen Layers of Hell, receive Underworld punishment, this is the heavenly principle of retribution for good and evil.

If repentance followed by erasing past mistakes, how unfair to those beings harmed by them?

The phrase I loathe the most is what Tathagata says, ’Lay down butcher knife, instantly become Buddha.’ What benevolent heart wipes out all evils, all are nonsense."
